unsure.gif I am considering a US5 vary seriously but I was wondering if there are any other guns that are a great beginner gun. As most dont know I still have yet to actually play paintball, I want to be able to buy a gun my first paintball experiance. Getting back to the point I need suggestions for a good beginner gun that is "cost affective".......... huh.gif

A couple questions first:

Are you planning on playing more woodsball (in the woods or bushes) or speedball (a netted playing area with inflatable bunkers and such)? A marker that is good for one is not necessarily good for the other. Also, if you are playing in your yard the most, that will affect what kind of air source you should use.

How much are you looking to spend?

Do you have a paintball store nearby?

I don't know if this is the right spot for this topic but...

A few that you should consider are (note I don't have personal experience with all of these): Spyder Victor 2,
Tippmann 98 Custom,
You could get Cayden's Piranha for cheap,
US5 (of course),
PMI Trracer/ACI Maverick (same marker - different name),
a used Phantom... But then I'd be jealous lol.
And if you're THAT desperate... A Talon Ghost.

Thanks for all your posts........
I would almost always play woodsball. I am not to worried about cash but somthing over 250$ for the marker itself would be a bit expensive. I would play quite a bit in my and friends(Wanna B Sniper and so on) woods and occaisonaly at feilds.

PS:Thanks Wanna B Sniper for your input and if anyother people have any suggestions I wourld greatly appreiate them.

HAHA! I've always wanted a ghost since I started PB! LOL, Some people have really nice ones! But Phantoms are still favored smile.gif

Umm... Back to topic... Cayden says approximately $125 for his gear if your interested. I'd try to fix his internals up the best I could before you looked into it so... And since you're local there would be no shipping smile.gif........ But I'm not sure that you'd really want a Piranha.

I hate to say it but I got better range and accuracy throwing also my hand was more gas efficent and didn't break near as easily as my ghost. Then again my hand didn't come with a pocket hopper for me to spray paint and put on my BT-4. sad.gif

On topic yeah get a US-5. Electronic clip too but start out with the mechanical otherwise you get reliant on 3 round for your kills.

Yes, don't start with auto.... OK, don't rely on auto!

I just looked at the banshee site for the first time in forever and this is my list of good priced, decently working markers:
-PCS US5 (Mechanical): $180
-Spyder MR1: $160
-Spyder Victor II: $140
-Spyder Sonix: $120
-Used Tippmann SL68 II: $75 <---- What I'd get
-Ben Tippamann BT-4 Combat: $160
-Evil Impulse Pimp Kit: $750 LOL!

The above is all based on the price BEFORE tax. (and the Pimp Kit was a joke biggrin.gif)

Forget Piranhas! Unless I can get extra good at fixing them tongue.gif

I may be looking for someone to buy my US-5 here pretty soon...as in, as soon as I can get pictures taken. It has custom paint, polished internals, CAR adjustable stock (for an A-5 but fits just as well), stock barrel and hopper. It's only been used about 8 or 9 times. Interested?

LOL He doesn't visit these boards anymore, and he has more markers (I can think of one or two A5s and a Cocker) than he can use. Shopping for an 05 Ego now I think.
