Bright green grass stretched itself across the long terrence of the West Campus. The white building of Ouran seemed to wrap its arm like hallways around the green. A few trees here and there decorated the field, but one stood out more. It was a long, slender oak tree that reached high into the sky, but seemed to lean in the brisk wind. The branches ducked down, swiving up and down, only to create an older look to itself. A besaball feild was only a few meters away.

A cute girl, with long brunette hair that was beginning to curly from the humid air, had her nose in another romance book. She was quite fond of them, but they, too, also bothered her. She couldn't help herself to dogging out the guys in books. She could tell very well what they were thinking. And most of what they did was just feed by a little thing called 'Lust.' It was true that most thoughts that ran through a guy's head was filtered with lust. It was just so borthersome.

Her back was against the trunk of the tree, her eyes scanning over her book. It was quite unusual for her, but the book was beginning to bore her. That seemed to sappen a lot. The day was quite nice for once, even better that it was after school. It was very peaceful when the school was nearly empty. A soft, metalic click echoed throughout the area as a baseball hit a metal bat for a homerun.

Daisuke had found his way outside of the school. The last bell had rung and the building was quieting down. He was going to go and grab some ice cream somewhere but decided that he wasn't worth it. He told himself that picking flowers would have been much better, since it didn't cost money either.

He found himself wandering over towards the baseball field, where there was a game going on so what better to do than watch them hit some home runs! Taking a seat at the stands he noticed it wasn't really a game, it was more like a scrimmage. The boys were practicing hitting and running back and forth.

After a few hits Daisuke figured he could find something else a bit more exciting to do and to pass time. So he left the stands and wandered over towards the rich oak tree. He was about to take a seat when he noticed someone sitting under it already. Not wanting to be rude he went ahead and asked permission to see if he could sit down.

"Miss..?" He said almost in a whisper, "Mind if I sit here?'

She saw a boy with brunette hair walk toward her, but not conciously. He did not notice her, at all. The boy looked very happy... Very average. But Emi knew better than to let his looks set a tone for him in her head. "Don't judge a book by its cover," was a very true statement. Plus, paying attention to anyone body can obviously condradict anything a person looks like or says.

"Miss..?" He said almost in a whisper, "Mind if I sit here?'

It took her a second to realize that one again she over-analyzed someone again. She didn't even realize when he actually came next to her. "Uhm... sure," her sweet voice let out, but she was honestly startled. She missed something..... Again.

After getting her permission he was slowly setting himself down on to the ground. He put his back and right hand back against the tree and slowly went down onto the ground. But somehow as he was going down his arm gave away and he slipped, slightly hitting his head against the tree. "Gahh!" He cried, rubbing the back of his head.

Wiping the slight tears from his face he turned his head and glanced back at the girl, hoping she didn't see what just happened. It would be hard to not have noticed, but she didn't noticing him coming either, so maybe he was in luck.

Now grinning he thought he should introduce himself, "Hi, my names Daisuke."

Her eyes carefully watched his movements, attempting to her fullest not to get caught basically stared. He pressed his back against the tree, his right hand also pressed to the tree as if to steady himself. If you think about it, it shows that he was right handed and, also, that he was probably very clumsy and knew it. Her point was proven when his arm gave way and he slipped. His head slightly hit against the tree, forcing a pained 'Gah!' to emit from his mouth.

She dropped her book unconsiously, quickly getting to her knees. She looked at the boy with concerning eyes. "Are you okay?" her voice ozzed with concern, while he wiped liquid from his face. She didn't like it when innocent people got hurt. People who deserved it, on the other hand....

Now grinning, he introduced himself, "Hi, my names Daisuke."

"Oh, well, you get over things fast," she said with her own smile. "My name Amai Emi."

"Oh, well, you get over things fast," was her reply, "My name Amai Emi."

"Well I can't make a fuss over nothing." He laughed a bit, "Anyways, its very nice to meet you."

Daisuke studied the girl carefully, looking over her to see if he knew her or not. But nothing came to mind. As she was standing there on her knees looking at Daisuke, it made him a bit nervous. "Heh...I see you like reading, eh?" Was the next thing that came out of his mouth.

"Well I can't make a fuss over nothing." He laughed a bit, "Anyways, its very nice to meet you."

She could feel his eyes studying her, making her get an odd vibe. Maybe, this is how others felt when she did the same to them. But, she was only observing their movements to see what they were possibly going to do next. I mean, it's all in body language. She could feel her cheeks burning a slight shade pink, mentally cursing out herself. She leaned back on her heels, pressing her back against the tree.

"Heh...I see you like reading, eh?" His voice let out, exceptionally nervous as well.

"Yeah," she said, now clenching the romance book in her lap. "I like romance the most, although-" She bit her tongue. She wasn't going to go all out over how stupid romance books were to a stranger.... Again.

He waited to see what her answer would be, but she quickly cut herself off short. She still had a light pink tone to her face. It gave her a bit more color. Wondering what she was going to say Daisuke replied, "Although..?"

There was something about the girl that seemed a bit strange. His mind spoke out quickly though, "I hope she isn't one of those crazed fangirls." That comment made him grin coolly.

"Although..?" He asked her, looking as if he was waiting for her answer. It only too a few seconds before a grin began to evelope on his face. It made her begin to wonder what he was thinking, but she could not decipher whether it was soething good or bad. Her frustration began to show in her expression.

"What were you just thinking," She began, looking at him closely. Her expression expressed something of both confusion and frustration. "Something had to have made you grin." She was willing to push on the subject if he decided to push her on her answer. She really wanted to know, and it was starting to really bug her. She looked at him closely, as he answered

She still had a feeling that it was something bad... But like anything was good to her. Especially thanks to her step-father. He was the epitamy of evil. And if it was another crazed fangirl thing, she was possibly going to go insane. She was not a fangirl. Romance just happened to spark her attention.

She asked him what he was thinking. For she must have known that the grin on his face was because of her. Daisuke didn't want to answer her, because he thought it might not be the best thing to say. Seeing as they just met and all.

"I was just thinking of...a joke! A j-joke my friend told me the other day." Daisuke said, trying to lie. Quickly thinking, he knew he had to change the subject. So he just blurted out whatever came next, "The weather, pretty nice eh?"

"I was just thinking of...a joke! A j-joke my friend told me the other day." After that, the rest of his words fell dead upon her now ignorant-deafened ears.

"You're lying," she said, her voice dropping with sadness but her expression still firm. "Lying can be told by simple things, you know," she said, not realizing that she was giving out the way she thinks to a stranger. So much for not going all out on a stranger. "You averted your eyes away from me, and you won't keep my eye contact. When someone lies, they find it difficult to look in their eyes, some shit with guilt where it hurts to look at a person....

"A-and you hesitated when answering me. Even if you can hold someone's eyes, it's nearly impossible to not stutter or hesitate.... Enless you enjoy watching the expression of a person as it twists in frustration and enbarassment. It much more sadistic, if you think about it like that. But nobody's really what they say they are, if you think about it. The things they do subconciously, without their own knowing. Like me going off on stranger...." I took her a second to realize something. "Like.... I am doing right now...." Her face then burned redder, forcing her to look down in embarassment.

"I-I...I..." Daisuke didn't know what to say. After her full explanation on things, something inside of him felt awful. Her face was now red, from embarrassment, but so was his. He didn't know what to do now. She was someone he had just met and this was not what he was expecting.

"I...I'm sorry." Daisuke finally whispered, "I only lied because I didn't want to hurt your feelings. I didn't mean for it to cause you to get even more angry at me." Daisuke wasn't the most bright, but he did know when he was wrong and when he had to say sorry.

"I...I'm sorry." Daisuke finally whispered, "I only lied because I didn't want to hurt your feelings. I didn't mean for it to cause you to get even more angry at me." He said, flushing his own shade of red. Yet another awkward situation.... Created by Emi....

"I'm not angry.... Just annoyed that people can't seem to speak the truth anymore," she whispered, as if her embarassment was taking energy from her. She peeked up softly to get a wave of guilt thrushed upon her from the redness of Daisuke's face. "But you shouldn't be saying sorry. I was the one being nosy, a-and went all of on you. I even revealed some of my deepest thoughts to you.... Subconciously, though. I don't tell random stranger my secrets..." She attempted to smile, still being completely caught in embarassment.

"It's okay, I won't tell anyone. Unless they paid me too." Daisuke said jokingly. "Maybe we should start over." Daisuke grinned and took out his hand, "Hi, I'm Kinomoto Daisuke, it is a pleasure to meet you."

It might have sounded odd to start over, but Daisuke thought it was the best thing they could do. He didn't want to be on bad terms with her, seeing as they had just met. He watched her, seeing if the flushed red color in her face was gone.

"It's okay, I won't tell anyone..." He said softly before pausing. "Unless they paid me too," Daisuke said, his tone sounding humorous. "Maybe... We should start over." He grinned and took out his hand, "Hi, I'm Kinomoto Daisuke, it is a pleasure to meet you."

She smiled herself, most of the color leaving her face, but a slight rosy tint still present. She took his hand. "Mashi mashi, my name is Amai Emi. It is quite a pleasure to meet you also."

"I hope that we can become very good friends." Daisuke said with a smile, "You seem like a very kind and genuine person." She was very nice and also very cute. Things might have been tense, but now it seemed as things have cooled down. Daisuke had found a liking to her. She was becoming a nice friend to have.
