Standing backstage, being very content with himself was Mr. Mccullen. He wasn't being a bother, he rarely ever was. It wasn't a real concert, it was a rehearsal, and Vincent wanted to hear some of the newer bands. He wasn't 100% pure stud, but he wasn't too bad looking either, hell he had his own fansite with hundreds of crazy hormone induced girls dreaming about him, it was flattering in a scary sort of way. Only things he knew his fans disliked was he smoked, it wasn't his only flaw but it was a big one. He wasn't a gross smoker, he brushed his teeth and whatnot. He didn't see what was o bad about it, except the health concerns that came with it.

He was leaning on a cement wall backstage, a set of Zildjian Drumsticks sticking out of the back pocket of his jeans. He inhaled and let out a breath of smoke before sticking the "cancer stick" back between his lips. His mother always called them cancer sticks, his mom was so weird. He sighed, he should be with Bronx and Emm practicing but he was standing around and listening to newbie bands instead. Much more comforting than practicing. Sometimes Vincent was so content with himself, he loved his life.

I mean, who wouldn't, he was famous, had groupies, a fansite.... a FANSITE, he had good friends, he was doing the best job in the world, and... and he had the most amazing girlfriend IN THE WORLD. Seriously, no joke, she knew exactly what to say, she was kind and she was drop dead gorgeous. Okay, sure she swung a little bit crooked on the swing of life, but so did he, he did try to kill himself when he was younger. I guess everybody has their problems.

Miss Kendall Jane Rosseau was walking around the venue, reading a book, something she always did when she was bored. She really shouldn’t be bored on tour, come on, it was tour for Christ’s sake, it was fun! Fun it was, tour was great so far with all of the nice people, something she did not meet in Los Angeles very often. She had lived in LA her whole nineteen years and up until she was sixteen, she had never really met people that were nice to her. One of those nice people was the man she was in love with, the best man she could ask for in the world, Vincent Mccullen.

Vince was her world, even more the photography was, and she would go to the ends of the world for him. She smiled and looked up from her book thinking about him, everything about him mad her melt inside, but she still could not help and feel like he could do better than her. He should be with a girl that would have hot sex with him every night and look sexy at all of the parties they go to a lot. Kenny was not that kind of girl, she was scared of sex, it brought back to many memories, and no way could she pull off looking sexy when she got slightly uncomfortable around other men. The girl sighed and put her thoughts back on her book, continuing walking.

She walked with her book in front of her face and she didn’t really notice where she was going, but she thought she would be able to tell when there was someone around. With that thought, she was wrong, she could not tell were people were, well one person that she ran into. One second she was walking, the next she was hitting something hard and her book fell to the ground, ”I am so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going,” she said bending down to pick up her book, still not seeing who she had run into. Finally, she looked up and saw Vince. Kendall smiled and blushed a little bit, starting to melt inside. ”Hey, I thought you would be practicing,” she said looking up at him, into his brown eyes.

Vince sighed dreamily, he always did when Kenny came to his mind. He smiled to himself and before he knew it. There she was, like a gift from heaven, except for the fact that god would not make him almost choke on his cigarette.

Kenny was beautiful, she didn't think she was but Vince knew she was, he told her that all the time. She never agreed, ugh, women. He forgot how long ago it was, but an interviewer asked him why not being going out with somebody better? He remembered his response though, there is nobody better. Well, every guy wants to have a girlfriend who wears revealing clothes and wants to have hot sex after every performance, but Vince seemed happy enough with a girl who loved him more than anything in the world. Even if she doesn't dress like a $20 whore and doesn't want to have hot sex after every performance.

" I am so sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going,” is all he heard from her first, after he began to breathe again, a cheeky smile spread across his face. " Hey, I thought you would be practicing." his smile grew more then. He chuckled softly to himself before wrapping his arms around her, "I had a feeling that I would run into the most beautiful girl in the world, so I didn't go..." he paused, obviously thinking of something else to say, " I'm just that good..."

The feeling of being in a dream never subsided when she was with Vince, as he spoke she felt as if she would wake any moment and his face would be gone. Even if that happened she would forever be in love with this dream and would think of it every night before falling asleep again, just as long as she wouldn’t wake up a scared six year old at her father’s house again. Maybe if it was all a dream, it was the future and it would all come true, then again, it might just be real, already coming true.

Blushing, she smiled up at the man of her dreams and saw the cigarette in his mouth, he knew he should not smoke and she was scared of what could happen if he continued to do so. “You know I don’t like that,” she said looking concerned, “and you know kissing people who smoke is like licking an ashtray…” she trailed off, “but with you it’s not like that,” Kenny smiled, took the cigarette out of his mouth before kissing him. “You should try to stop though,” She said, again concerned. They have had this conversation a few times before, but he had not really stopped, a good thing, though, was he was not smoking as many every day. The photographer really wanted him to be around a lot longer, she wanted to grow old with him, and maybe even raise a few kids.

Kids... Kids with Kendall could take a while, her being scared of sex and all, but she was happy she had found someone that was willing to wait until she was ready. Maybe, hopefully she would be ready soon, but one thing she wished would happen first was getting engaged with Vincent. After all, they had been together for three years now and Kenny was ready for the rest of her life with him, but on this matter, she would have to wait for Vincent to be ready. That was something weird about the two, they were both waiting on something from one another, something that is life changing, but they both are willing to take the wait and be patient.

Vincent sighed, it was another "please quit smoking" conversation. It wasn't really his fault, his dad smoked, his granddad smoked, and plus, he's been addicted since... as far as he can remember. Unlike his sex life, in which he could count the times on only two hands, smoking was something he might never be able to give up.

He smiled softly, Kenny was the first person he had ever really shared love with, all those others girls, to hell with 'um. When he started dating Kenny, he couldn't help but realize that all his other relationships were so physical. It saddened him to see his sex life come to a screeching halt, but for somebody like Kenny, he'd wait. It was like one of those 100 piece puzzles, there are tons of people you could be with, but only really one fits exactly right.

When she took the cigarette out of his mouth he grinned, he was going to come back with something witty and devious, but he felt her kissing him. Ugh, he felt like a five-year-old girl when she kissed him, he just wanted to melt away. He wanted to just kneel down right now and ask her to marry him, he wanted to the first time he saw her. but, that would have been creepy and awkward so he kept said feelings to himself.

He let his hand cup her face and he wrapped the other arm around her waist, there was also her past that was another hurdle of their relationship. And there was Vincent's problems. Vince was sensitive, he had always been since his parents divorce, anything could set him off, either he would start bawling or get really angry. He had never been in a situation like that with Kenny, but he would never want to hurt her or make her worry about him. And the kids, he was so scared of having kids, not the sex part but the raising a child, he didn't know if he was good enough... He didn't want to be a horrible father like his was. He wasn't sure if he could handle that. He really, really, really, wanted to propose, but he didn't think he could, he might freeze up, or have a breakdown, or maybe... worst of all.... she might say no... that almost made him cry just thinking about it.

Kendall loved it when Vince kissed her like that, she loved everything he did when they were together, besides smoke, but he did that before they met. It was during these moments that she felt truly alive, almost as if she had been brought up in a semi normal house with everything exactly as it was supposed to be and nothing had ever happened to her. There are sometimes she wished that she had lived a normal childhood, but she immediately take it back, no matter how horrid her childhood had been, everything that happened lead to her meeting Vincent, something that she would be thankful for the rest of her life, as long as she spent it with him.

Thinking about that got the nineteen-year-old thinking about the day that the two met. It was only three years ago, but it felt like she had been in love with him her whole life, even if she almost said no when he asked her out. It was a very hot, summer day in LA when Kenny walked into the Magazine she was interning with, that day was going to be her biggest shoot so far, but she did not know what would really go on. When she walked into the room, the band’s manager was already there. As soon as the band walked in she felt a little nervous, but as soon as she saw Vincent and just about to melt, which was very different from the way she usually felt around men. She smiled shyly at the band before Bronx asked her name and introduced everyone else. Finally, it was time to start taking pictures, she did her thing, and she did it well, it was awkward helping them positioning their arms and legs in the best place, but she made it through. Afterwards, the band was packing up and she could see Emmalynn and Vince talking, Kenny thought they were a thing so she brushed it off. Then, the next day, Vince was there at the office when she showed up wanting to ask her on a date.

Coming back into the present, she smiled up at the love of her life, ”So, have you just been walking around all morning,” she asked, “when I woke up Em said you had already left.”

He was so happy with Kenny, absolutely, utterly happy. There was no other way to describe it, he just wanted to freeze time and stand here forever. Moments like this made him happy his mother stopped him from committing suicide 7 years ago, and thank god for letting him live through that horrible car accident 5 years ago.

He had always hated his father but his mother was a different story. She was the one who was all for his touring career. She always bought the albums, and watched every show, except this tour. She couldn't make it and she wouldn't tell Vincent why. He was kinda worried, really worried, but he couldn't do anything about it so he let it go. He had to focus on the beautiful angel before him.

He heard Kenny talking and he was still mesmerized by the kiss he had to blink a couple times before the words registered. He sighed, " naw... I went on a run this morning..." he paused, " have to keep off my pounds" he joked, speaking in a high tone to sound like a girl. He chuckled to himself, " actually, I haven't been able to get a good night's sleep lately..."

The photographer giggled, “Yeah, I doubted you were running, you don’t need to lose any weight, you’re perfect the way you are.” Her words were true, as they always were with Vince. Even though she is always true with him now, she was not always, but it was in the early days of their relationship. Kenny can remember the few lies she told him and she regrets them, but she cannot go back. Most of what she lied about was about her father, and her heritage.

Kendall had told him that her mother and father were divorced, that much was true, but she also said that her father lived in New York, not in prison; she thought that he would judge her because of her father. When she did finally tell him that her father was in prison, she did not tell him why, but Vince could tell it was because of something he did by the way she acted when she talked about it. With her heritage, she told him that she was Italian and Greek, the Italian part was true, all of her father’s grandparents had emigrated from Italy. Her mother’s side of the family, though, was not Greek, they were Paiute Indians and she did not know what he thought about that, most kids she went to school with made fun of her because of it. In the end, she was surprised to see that he accepted her, it was kind of silly to think that he wouldn’t.

When Kenny met Vincent, she found out she was not the most screwed up person in the world, not saying that he is, but they are both alike when it comes to their haunted pasts. Hi parents, too, were divorced, and they both could blame their fathers for many bad things that had occurred during their lives. Also, they can both thank their parents for bringing them together; Vince’s parents were both musicians, bringing him the #1 Secret, Kenny’s mother told her to pick up a hobby after everything with her father, which lead her to photography. Together, they fit just right, they were so much a like, and now they were so much in love.

Vince sighed for a second, he kissed Kenny's forehead lightly. " really now? What is so perfect about me?" He smiled, grinned, he did that a lot, smiled, he couldn't help it. He was a laid-back kind of guy, he wasn't a worry-wart, plus he had a decent life. He wasn't complaining, when he was with Kenny, he couldn't even think about anything bad.

Vince had always wondered why Kenny had tried to hide her past. Well, that was being hypocritical of him, he had never told her he tried to commit suicide because of his parents divorce. He did tell her about that horrible car accident he had, but because she had never seen him without a shirt on, she didn't know how long and gruesome the scars he had really looked. And he told her about not liking to drive cars since then, and the fights he had with his father about the divorce and everything BUT his suicide attempt. He didn't know how she would take it. Sure Emmalynn and Bronx knew, he told them just in case something happened, and he did something stupid, so that they would know to stop him. But, he wasn't ready to tell Kenny about that, just like she wasn't ready to have sex. It was something that hurt him to even talk about, so he kept it to himself.

Kendall looked up and smiled at Vincent, “Everything about you is perfect, you’re smile, you voice, the way you laugh. I can’t imagine why no one would want to be on your arm.” The girl then wrapped her arms around her boy friend, kissed his chest and then put her ear to his heart, ”Most of all you have a very loving heart, that i probably don’t deserve.” The girl whispered the last part of the sentence, she knew Vince did not like it when she said things like that, no one did, but in her eyes, it was true, she did not deserve someone as great as him.

As she had her ear next to Vince’s chest she listened to it, the rhythm went along with the song one of the new bands was playing. The music of his heart was her favorite; it went just the right tempo and made her happy every day. Ever since they met, Kendall had been relying more and more on him every day, now, if something happened to take that heartbeat away from her ear, or to make it stop, she did not know what she would do. Sure, she said she did not deserve Vince, but if he was ever taken out of her life, it would be like taking oxygen out of water, it couldn’t exist.

”You know what,” Kenny said, turning her head and putting her chin on his chest so she was looking up at him, ”I think we should go somewhere for dinner tonight, just me and you. What do you thing about that?” It had been forever since they had been anywhere together most of the time they were with the band or other bands it was never just them being them. Alone time was really what the girl wanted with him, it would give them time to just talk about things other than tour, the most common subject amongst everyone.

Vincent frowned hearing her words, it seemed just the opposite, before Kenny, the last girlfriend he had told him he was a man whore. And the one before that had cheated on him, and the one before that, he couldn't even remember. He thought he didn't deserve a girl that trusted him so much, well, there wasn't any reason not to trust him, but being in a band, and being so attractive as Vince was, he couldn't see how she wouldn't be worried about other girls trying to steal him away. And there was always the crazy fans who stood at the front of the stage and cat-called him, it was creepy, and degrading, but what girl wouldn't be suspicious?

" Shhh, don't say that, you know I hate it when you say stuff like that..." he said, he smiled softly to himself when she laid her head on him, he really liked it when she did, it gave him a chance to run his thin fingers through her dark hair. When she looked up at him he couldn't help but noticed how utterly cute she looked from such an angle. Her beautiful eyes staring at him, if he had been in less relationships than he had, his knees might have buckled and fell out from under him.

He was a bit surprised, she wanted to go out, like a date. It had been such a long time since they had been on a "date" a real one, just the two of them. He kinda missed it. Last time they went on a date was a long time ago, oh but he remembered it like yesterday. First time they kissed, well, he kissed her and then it went down hill from there, she freaked out. He felt like he had robbed a store or something, bad, really bad could describe it.

Vincent smiled " You know what?" he leaned down and kissed her, holding her as if to say he would never let her go, after a couple seconds he broke the kiss and smiled, with that mischievous look on his face, " I'd like that, we can go to Trattoria Tre Venezie, I hear it's fabulous, very expensive..." he said and kissed her again, he couldn't get enough of kissing her. As he kissed her he took back his cigarette, flicked the ash off onto the ground, then leaned back, replacing Kenny's lips with his cigarette. He chuckled, " you sly thing, It's almost burned out..." he joked.

She looked up at him with sadness in her eyes, ”Still, you know it’s true, I don’t deserve you and everything that you’ve given me, but I’ll take it anyway because I can’t get enough of it.” The girl sighed after saying that, she could not get enough of him; everything about Vince drove her crazy, crazy with love. Despite all of her feelings of doubt, she felt that she truly loved Vince, that he was her soul mate, but because of everything that had happened to her, she didn’t deserve anything good. It was her father’s fault that all of the bad things happened, but Kenny could not help but blame it on herself.

When Kendall first started realizing her feelings for the man before her, she was scared, scared that her life would go in a cycle and Vince would end up just like her father, but she soon realized that he would not. The day that she said that she was in love to Emmalynn, she was so scared that Vince did not feel the same way, mostly because of the way she usually reacted to the mushy gushy love things. After she told him those simple three words, she felt so relieved when he said them back, but when others found out they were skeptical, mostly Kenny’s brother. He had told the girl that she was only eighteen, she did not know what love was, and she was just trying to force all of the memories out using Vince. No one thought it would last when they publicly announced that they were officially dating to the press two years ago. She can remember the headlines, ‘They Say It’s Love, But Could It Ruin #1 Secret?’. Afterwards, all of the interviews were chaotic, and strange to Kendall, she was used to being behind a camera, not the one being looked at. After about a year everything settled down, there were less and less interviews and her brother grew to like Vince.

”No, we don’t need to go anywhere expensive, being anywhere with you would make me happy,” she said looking deeper into his eyes, her tongue still tasting her lips where his had been. When he took the cigarette back she rolled her eyes and gave him a disappointed look, “I meant to burn it out,” she said releasing him and looking deep into his big brown eyes.

Vince didn't say aything to her comment about how she didn't deserve him, she knew he hated it when she said that, but the look he gave her showed how upset he was when she did. Just the look was heartbreaking.

After she said anywhere would be fine, as long as she was with him, Vincent sighed, " We are going to a fancy restaurant and your just going to shut up and accept it..." he said with a smile, he smiled way more then he should, and he was glad that Kenny loved his smile. He took one last breath of the cigarette and sighed, she meant to burn it out, she was such a weasel sometimes, oh but he loved her and her sly ways.

When Vince saw Kenny for the first time, he got that clique feeling were his stomach turned over. He didn't even know why. He was just magnetically attracted to her. But he was a bit worried, what if she was like every other girl he had been dating? Ask, Em, or Bronx, before Kenny was on tour he had a girl on his arm... all the time... When Kenny fell from heaven at the beginning of the tour he made an effort to be friends, and fell harder than he ever had before. Sure some of the girls he'd dated before were super-model material, but they were all flat and had no personality. Kenny on the other hand, it was god's gift to Vincent Andrew Mccullen. When they finally released to the public that they were dating, the press was all over them. There was one point were Vince slapped a camera out of a Teen People reporter's hand. [i] 'True Love? Or Another Flig?' That was one of the papers that he ripped up. Reporters needed to mind their own damn business.

When she let go of him he forced himself not to whimper, he was such an puppy, following Kenny around and loving her to no end. If Kenny dumped him, which he doubted would happen, or if she go hurt, He didn't think he could survive...
