Volatilis are the winged humans of Oste, they most commonly find their homes in high up in the mountains, where they make their homes in “caves” they’ve chiseled out of the rock. The most common mountain range they have been found in is the mountains of Elaea, in north Orniarc. There are not many of Volatilis left and it is very rare to see one. In fact, they are so rare, that very few humans believe that they even exist. If a human may by chance catch a glimpse of an Volatilis, it is more likely than not that they will assume that the Volatilis was an angel.
Volatilis have a very distant personality and are sometimes seen as being “cold” to other species of Oste. They tend to keep to themselves, in small family units and send their teenaged children out to the world to find themselves a mate. Mates usually stay together for life, and it is the female that is in charge of the family, rather than the male as seen in most other species
Every four years all Volatilis meet for a group meeting, and each family takes turns hosting it throughout the years. It is a great honor to host the meeting and each family tries to outdo the last. The meeting lasts for about a month, then everyone returns home
The average lifespan of a Volatilis is 153 years, though some have been known to live past the age of 200.

Any other winged animal (Pegasus, Unipegs, Birds, etc.) and any animal that makes its home in the mountainside
Enemies
The Volatilis have very few enemies, due to their unassuming nature. However, most dislike humans, due to a war that took place between humans and the Volatilis a couple centuries ago. While the humans have long forgotten this due to their shorter lifespans, the Volatilis have not
Diet
lichen, moss, any vegetables they can get to grow on the mountainside. Most Volatilis are strict vegetarians
Generalized Appearance
Like your average human, but with large bird wings protruding from their shoulder blades. These wings are that of birds, most commonly that of swans, hawks and eagles, though it is not unheard of to have wings of other bird species. The type of wing an Volatilis has shows their personality (ie: swans are calm and attractive, hawks are hunters, deadly, etc.)
