QUOTE
Oh wow! If you're still in school, that makes Schmeag, Antonious, Gramlin and me the oldest people here. And Schmeag and Ant would be like elders.

*Ahem*
I'm a third year university student, studying Geography (in Aberystwyth if anyone cares). Am currently considering doing post-grad studies.

And I'm older than most first year uni-students, even if I am still in college... <<
Since people start uni at the age of 18-19ish when they've done A-levels, like most of them seem to do... <<

Hahahaha. I find it hilarious that Avaris takes the time to post his only post in however long to correct a comment I made that was easily inaccurate.

Of course there's lots of people here older then us, I suppose it's a good thing you are one of them, eh Av?

Darmort, get your work done and get into uni, it isn't worth the time! tongue.gif.

Strangely enough, we did have an international student in our maths class who was 21. He absolutely thrashed us all. Which isn't surprising really. I think he was there because of a funky transfer of schooling systems.

What're you doing still in school Darm?

In my language, you never leave school till you reach University or Tafe. College is a confusing term, as it has meant University, and High School, depending on your place and year of birth.

Primary School, Secondary School, GCSEs/A-Levels/College, Higher Education. That's how I rank our education system.

Ahhh.

Yes. You really should finish that soon. You don't really get much in the way of qualifications from that.

SE, I hear you. I've been working at the equivalent of Burger King (it's an Australian subsidiary of BK called Hungry Jack's) as a part-time job. The pay is pathetic (close to, if not the minimum wage) and a recent shift in management has rendered them all tight-arsed about our work ethic. It's even become an effort to get free burgers out of them. Before that, I used to work at KFC--hopefully my summer path job will be my break away from the krummy likes of the fast food industry.

Where did you go before college Darmort, if not school? Or am I interpreting the last few posts wrong...

A little thing called home education. tongue.gif

Meh, four years of College hasn't been so bad. I'll get at least one qualification that with a good portfolio would get me into CodeMasters or Blitz or something.

That's only partially true. A good portfolio will get you somewhere, but usually you need a contact in the industry. It's getting a lot harder to get into now. Or at least, down here in Oz it is. Experience in 3D animation, modelling and so forth is a big plus, as is experience as a modder. A lot of people have been hired because they made some particularly good mods.

A really good portfolio will get you a job as a concept artist somewhere though.

Bleh, I couldn't even get a job at McDonalds. sad.gif

I'm working my way through high school, probably with college and then maybe even graduate school afterwards.

Though I could just be a gypsy...

The 'Dont' in the phrase 'Dont you get it?' should have an apostrophe in it, between the 'n' and the 't'.

I'm a senior in High School currently. I do decently in all my subjects, though History and (surprisingly) sciences are standouts. I'm planning to study poly sci or international relations in college. I'll probably be the guy making up exorbitant taxes for you lot in 20 years...

Other than that I do competitive speaking and a shitload of theater (I just got back from a 6 hour set building day).
