Basically, it's a National Novel Writing Month. You start writing the 1st of November, and you stop the 30th. By then you should have written 50,000 words. Easy, no? Alright, have a look around the site, and sign-up. It's cool. You know you want to. -------------------- Every sweet little lie ever whispered to you now rings true No need to wake the sleeping dogs when they'll just turn on you I'll make my way instead to the foot of your ivory tower But no love do I find there amongst the leaves and the dying flowers. - Pete Doherty, Hooray for the 21st Century ![]() |

I signed up as Bradshaw_101
I honestly don't know where I'll get the time to do it, but even so I do like the idea. If only it had been this September I could have had the time. -------------------- ![]() |Story Write~|~PAE~|~Cybernations| All works posted are © Joshua R Bradshaw, All rights reserved unless otherwise stated |

Woot! It's in November, right in the middle of exams
I'll either have no time to do it, or lots, I suppose it doesn't matter really. EDIT: I've calculated you only need to write 1700 words a day to be over the 50,000 mark by the end of the month. Actually, it's 1666.6666 and onwards. But 1700 is easier to visualise, is it not? Looks like The Traveller's Tale is getting picked up again, and I'll be writing a sequel. With the previous cast of characters and a few new ones. And this time it'll be how it was originally envisioned. As a comedy, slagging nearly everything about fantasy you'll ever find. The first Traveller's Tale is something I'd like to redo sometime though. The themes and storyline in that one were really really good. -------------------- I am the king of Rome, and above grammar - Sigismund, Roman Emperor.

Anybody think it would be interesting if we chose storylines for each other? -------------------- "Someday, someone will best me. But it won't be today, and it won't be you."

I'll try this, should be fun.
though Blackstaff raises a good point, it is in between some exams of mine, and lots of homework still, should be fun -------------------- Friends, Vampires, Sihillians; lend me your ears.

That's actually what they said. They kindly informed us that most of what we'll write is going to be a load of crap. As the point is quantity, not quality.
But then, I write like that all the time, whatever comes into my head, usually without checking. So it shouldn't be too hard to fly by the seat of my pants. I mean, I Gm like that Here's a few topics: - Any storyline in the rpgs here (where you think it'll go). I know that I've given enough clues in Godstorm for the enterprising player to work things out. - Try a background character story. Flaxes, do Allili. Star Eagle, try Felis, or Laertes. - Pick a random theme, three protagonists, a typical fantasy storyline. Then ask, how do I make it different? - Try a remake of the Morrowind storyline. - Or another game you liked. - Flaxes. Do a proper vampire tale. - Star Eagle. I have absolutely no idea. - Start something. Then make it up as you go along, add in random characters on a whim, with a day's notice, and work out the end while halfway through. -------------------- I am the king of Rome, and above grammar - Sigismund, Roman Emperor.
Give me a word, and I'll give you a world. |

I may do something set in the Dark Future universe.
Nothing to do with the current RP obviously, but Set at around the same time. Idea ideas ideas... I may follow their advise and fuel my madness with extreme coffee... well more extreme coffee than usual. -------------------- ![]() |Story Write~|~PAE~|~Cybernations| All works posted are © Joshua R Bradshaw, All rights reserved unless otherwise stated |

B'ah, I'm not actually fond of Allili as a character
I've done enough tales about Vampires, methinks. Ironically, WotV started just like this: totally random, on a whim, random writing about a fleeing woman. I wouldn't have guessed it was going to turn into an all vampiric civil war, the Jade college and the birth of Vlad von carstein. I did so enjoy that story, I shall have to re-do it at some point, the writing really doesn't do the theme justice. But how to start this one? PAE would be simply smegging awesome to write as a story, but i wouldn;t rob Star of the pleasure...there was The Golden Age of Dunnlin, oh so very long ago. I think that's faded from my memory too much though. So no, I don't know how I'll start this one... -------------------- "Someday, someone will best me. But it won't be today, and it won't be you."

I'm not sure I want to write PAE as a story unless I'm absolutely certain that the RP won't happen...
Despite the smaller are than Dark Future it has the potential to be twice as epic as the characters will have to face some serious challenges of every nature despite their humble backgrounds. That's why I'm eager to get it up and running again. -------------------- ![]() |Story Write~|~PAE~|~Cybernations| All works posted are © Joshua R Bradshaw, All rights reserved unless otherwise stated |

Amoxcalleotl.
I've got a half-decent idea for a story. It's going to be about a Pahlavan interpreter in the north-east of the Seleucid Empire, somewhat in the area east of the Caspian Sea. The town in which this translator lives, is occupied by Hellen troops, but the Pahlavans, with the help of the interpreter, rebel. That's about all I've got. Be sure to list the names you've signed up with. I'mma see if there's an option for a writing group on that site as well.

Lord Blackstaff, of course.
They stole Krayon PS, that's my usual internet alias, which I've been using for many years. Just realised I have a much better storyline that I was gonna do but never actually started. It'll involve a group of role players, a GM, a magical pair of dice, and my world. Oh and possible end of the world Armageddon situations, angry gods, hordes of worshipers and whatever else I can think of. -------------------- I am the king of Rome, and above grammar - Sigismund, Roman Emperor.

As said earlier before people started sharing usernames, I'm Bradshaw_101 over there!
Set during the Migration Wars my story will (possibly) follow a group of people desperately trying to escape the planet as it tears itself apart and powerful nations duke it out with scary super weapons, and AI on the level of gods obliterate everything in their paths as they vie for superiority. That or the tales of the first settlers of the planet that the Arcs fled to. Maybe something else entirely... I'm still not sure, but i will use the PAE/Dark Future 'verse as I know that really quite well. -------------------- ![]() |Story Write~|~PAE~|~Cybernations| All works posted are © Joshua R Bradshaw, All rights reserved unless otherwise stated |
