Title: Well hello!
Unheimlich Mowe - September 24, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
Hello,
I was asked to introduce myself in another thread, and so that is exactly what I have come here to do.
I have seen other people on old world chronicles a couple of times, and so was aware of it's existence, but have only just taken a look at it, and thought it was worth joining when I saw the pokemon tournament someone suggested.
I have played warhammer in the past, and still do occasionally with my brother. I have some chaos warriors, and a few high elves. Although I haven't dabbled in fluff writing yet, some of the prose I have had the pleasure of reading (a very limited amount) did pique my interest.
The name I go by... I count as spoils of war. An hard fought and won mark of respect (or more accurately hatred), from those who betrayed us.
I look forward to involving myself in your business

Hi and welcome. I'm the common enemy of OWC, DC. Nice t'meet'ya
Rituro - September 24, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
Hi there! I'm the resident Blood Bowl geek supporter. B)
Good to hear you still play with Chaos and Helves -- I hope the upcoming Chaos book renews your interest in a very cool army.
Oh, and DC -- you're the whatnow? Did I miss something? Sure, I'll hate you if I have to, but you haven't given me a reason to (yet)... ;)
Wizwum - September 24, 2008 10:12 PM (GMT)
Give it time, Rituro. Give it time...
Welcome to the forums. My brother used to play Chaos back in the Realm of Chaos days (talk about Herohammer...), and High Elves are piquing his interest too atm. I'm getting scared by the number of HE players appearing. *Doesn't like Swordmasters. Or SoA. ASF my ass...*
And your brother plays too, you say? Get him to join! The more the merrier!
Unheimlich Mowe - September 24, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
Hi guys,
I'm looking forward to the new chaos book, and have never played bloodbowl, but I like mordheim.
I'll see if I can get my brother to join, but he's not exactly computer literate...
Zog the Stout - September 24, 2008 10:33 PM (GMT)
Hey there! I'm the someone who suggested the Pokemon tournament. I'm also the someone who happens to be Root Admin and owner of this madhouse they call a forum ;). Glad you've joined up :)
I too dabbled in Warriors of Chaos a while back, but Ive left them to gather dust recently. What I saw of the new book at Gamesday has gone some way to persuade me to take them up again, however ;). So yeah, basically, I'm the guy you smile at if you like the place, bother if you don't understand something, and shout at if something's wrong (which it invariably is :P). Hope you enjoy wandering around the site, we're a very friendly bunch really, as long as you're not too attatched to your sanity ;)
Zog

@ Zog: Then get back on The Dark 4 ;)
Oh and hi, I'm Flailing-Axes, one of a shocking number of people here who love writing about vampires. (Don't get too close, I may bite ;) )
HLY - September 25, 2008 08:49 AM (GMT)
Welcome to OWC, please deposit your sanity in the little drop box near the door
Don't mind flaxes, he's crazy, but he's not dangerous
@DC: how are you the enemy of OWC, if anything, out of all the members that title belongs to either me or hivey, destroying the forum with bad spelling/grammer
TheAdmiral - September 25, 2008 10:11 AM (GMT)
I will call you UW, I am so not going to type out the whole darn thing.. :P
Welcome, enjoy your stay (it says stay, which means you should stay and not do something stupid like go away).
Silhillian or sane?
Flailing Axes - September 25, 2008 12:02 PM (GMT)
I don't believe he's a silhillian....are you?
It is simply because out of strange coincidence a large number of our members come from the town of Solihull, hence the word (Silhillian)
MutantMaggot - September 25, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
The light was there! Yes ... I could see it now, a small pinprick in the darkness - yet one that blinded me with light. At last! I could escape and return my mind to normality! I could-
No! A small squeaking thing leapt at me, oddly-proportioned body flickering with electricity. Concentrating hard, I focussed on the light, and the 'pikachu' faded into extinction.
Breathing hard, head hurting, I strode towards the light; then I ran towards the light. It grew no bigger, and my pants of exhaustion turned to ragged cries of despair as I realised I was trapped here.
Just then, the light vanished, and a glint of steel could be made out.
I shuddered, aware my vivid blue eyes were staring at the figure.
"Who ...?" I asked. I would have asked 'who are you', but speaking was hard; my throat had tightened up.
A flash of white teeth. "I am the Jailor of OWC, the Sihillian you have come to know and fear."
I staggered backwards as this ancient myth approached. I was panting: though not from the running.
"The Zog commands me, and the servants invigorate me," he continued, and a slight flash of electricity flared for a moment as I saw him hold up a red and white pokeball.
I turned to flee, but I tripped, and suddenly my vision was fully of a yellow anime creation, black beady eyes glinting like dark glass. Suddenly aware of my fate, I tried to scream, but it never came.
A flash of light, and then everything went black.
*coughs*
Just a quick spur-of-the-moment thing.
Welcome, I'm Mutant ... despite the name, the only one here who tries to keep sane. Then again, I consider playing pokemon to be accepting insanity.
Don't worry iof you play pokemon though - apart from the occasional rant, I'll leave you to your heretical activities with others who share the 'hobby'. :)
Flailing Axes - September 25, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
...MM, that was completely hilarious!
Fear the Pikachu of doom! ;)

Awesome..
And I consider myself fairly sane.. relatively anyway... :P
HLY - September 25, 2008 08:43 PM (GMT)
What is sane? that is the prospect of the person, how can one be sane? such words are useless, it's like saying you are normal.
I consider myself sane, yet others will disagree, for the word, and concept 'Sane' is a mocking irony, for to create a word so useless one must be...insane
spur of the momentness is infectious

Ah well. I was hoping an infection would also improve grammar. :P (just kidding)
Interesting point ... wait a tick and I'll get some good 'sanity' ones.
Right.
Love, n. A temporary insanity curable by marriage or by removal of the patient from the influences under which he incurred the disorder. This disease is prevalent only among civilized races living under artificial conditions; barbarous nations breathing pure air and eating simple food enjoy immunity from its ravages. It is sometimes fatal, but more frequently to the physician than to the patient. -- Ambrose Bierce
Sanity is madness put to good uses; waking life is a dream controlled. --George Santayana, Interpretations of Poetry and Religion
Sanity is for the weak! -- DoW
Insanity is relative. It depends on who has who locked in what cage. -- Ray Bradbury (awesome writer)
I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs, or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me. -- Hunter S Thomson
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your children. -- Sam Levenson
It is an act of insanity and national humiliation to have a law prohibiting the President from ordering assassination. -- Henry Kissinger, in a statement at a National Security Council meeting in 1975.
