Title: Castles

I'm sure many of you have already heard of
Castles from when sign ups were taking place for Game 2. Although that game was beset with delays there is now a new admin team who will be running it so things will run alot smoother. How do I know this? I'm on the admin team :D
For anyone who doesn't know, Castles is a strategy/roleplaying game. Players take control of a kingdom or a hero attached to another player's kingdom, and the primary goal is to defeat the opposing kingdoms through the strategy game aspect. Each turn takes 1 week, so play is fairly fast but with enough time for discussions via pm etc.
Added to this is the story element, which I am running (hence why I ain't writing much atm). As the game progresses players will uncover different aspects of the story, and take part in rped missions which may uncover valuable treasures or secrets. I hope the story will be an engaging and interesting element of the game, but part of it has to come from the players.
So what are you waiting for, take a look!

Just a quick heads up, especially to you, The Admiral, if you want your kingdom place, go there and make your units asap, otherwise you'll be relegated to a hero. Everyone else, I'm pretty sure kingdoms have pretty much been finalised (I think there's a possibility of one person other than TheAdmiral getting relegated if they don't post their units deisgns), but that doesn't stop you from joining as a hero.
PS. And when i say 'joining as a hero', I of course mean 'joining me as a hero." :P

I have registered here to Help Avaris get more members for Castle I also added the banner link below, you will also noticed a link to another game The other game is called Folk Wars and is a simpler version of Castles which allows players not wanting to be heroes in Castles to run thier own Kingdom in Folk Wars, Castles however is older and more grounded then Folk Wars so a newcomer of Castles would have more veteren players to guide them.
Anyways just thought Id update this since finding new players is always good

lol I need to make the FW banner smaller it looks obnoxious, but I just never made time to do it, trust me Castles is the better game, Folk Wars is my side project although it still should be fun, but its main purpose was to allow Heroes of Castle or eeven leaders the chance to run another kingdom also its set in a different time period
Oh and speaking of Folk Wars I would be intrested in finding a Fluff writer if anyones intrested??

Well, its that time again, and registration for Game 4, Midgar, has just opened. Get in there now and you'll have a great chance of getting a kingdom slot. This game is destined to be bigger and better than ever, with rule tweaks and revamps, a shiny new map, and a new story GM who will hopefully have time to actually post something once in a while (sorry Av :P ), me!
So get your asses over to
Castles for a great game with a great community.

Castles has some primary focus. If I could get some inspiration I would write stuff for OWC, but I can never seem to find subject matter that motivates me to devote a reasonable amount of time to writing.
And it'll take you 10 minutes a week at minimum activity, though the more time you spend, the more involving it is.

Voltek, I should be able to give you some storyline help though. Pm me with whatever you have and I'll consider it. I have been getting good practice with Outrageous Tales, and wouldn't mind applying that to a larger world, although, again, I may not be able to do massive amounts of fluff.

well as of now I do not need storyline help unless Wiz needs it, as Wiz has become the new storyline admin. If anything I suppose it would be nice to have someone run quests as a sort of co-admin.
The Game took me back when I played an hour a week, this hour was used
writing my turn orders 2 min
RPing 30 min
planning with allies 28 min
It all depends on how active you want to be. I only playing that much was very active, also unless your Kingdom has a lot of background the amount of writing isnt that much

Voltek, I was under the impression that Blackstaff was talking about Folk Wars. Bit thats even more of a task, so I don't see how you can't play a hero in Castles, but you can be the story admin for a game :P .

ah, well to be honest handling FW isnt so much of a problem, I have 6 Guilds and so far I have been able to give them pretty neat quests .

Just to put things into perspective, it took me around 2 hours a week:
Formulating a strategy: 25 min
Discussing the strategy with Allies: 70 mins
RPing: 15 min
Writing Turn Orders: 10 minutes
Still, great game. But time consuming? Yes.

CASTLES GAME 6 Has started we are on Turn 6 we need Heroes Merc groups and future Kingdoms.

The game is a Strategy game where Kingdoms fight to take control Of Ancile. Now the most interesting part of the game is that players design their own kingdom (write the story, create the units with a unit designer rule set) so its great for those who are creative or always wanted to play a race in warhammer that had no book or has no book. The game of course isnt like warhammer in that its closer to Axis and Allies and Risk as it is a territory grab game, Every territory is worth RP and RP buys troops, boats, special units, boats ect. Your Kingdom also gets to design 1 Special Character or as we call them 1 Hero which can be as strong as a Unit and have special actions like your special units. I have mentioned special units twice now and well I think I better explain what they are. Basically there is 6 Special units the first a Scout (which can steal from kingdoms and spy on there territories giving you exact troop counts, they also have lots of cool missions they can do like Assassination and Hinder Building) Mages are your spellcasters they can choose when you build your Mage Tower what lore to use from the following Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Death each lore has specific advantages and disadvantages but they give players even more choices that make their kingdom unique. The next thing are priests which can follow a different religion (there is several created ones but you can make your own too) His Religion allows him to cast prayers through Faith Points. Siege weapons which barrage the enemy before a fight, and flyers which can be used to fly across territories giving you the ability to attack the ungaurded.
All in All its a fun game that takes about 30 min to 1 Hour of actual involvement a week to post orders and talk to allies, if you want to join just register dont worry about reading the rules just yet they are lengthy but I can help you with the required knowledge, I am voltek on the site pm me for help if you need it. after you register go to kingdom registration and register as a Kingdom or Hero, if you want to play.
