Finally, the little guys were home. When Peter and Freya had to leave the island frantically in an attempt to get Freya home to their parents where she could recover from the illness that took over her so easily, Peter had sent his three chickens off to a neighboring farm to be cared for until they would return later in the summer. Now, they were back, and the hens seemed oddly happy to see him.

Well. Except for Fluffy, of course, but he supposed that was to be expected. She was the only one to try biting off his entire hand thus far, after all.

Regardless, with the hens settled back into their coop and roosting happily, Peter came in after planting and watering his plants and was immediately rewarded with the sudden drop in temperature due to the almost complete darkness of the building, with only a little window to bring in enough light to see by and some fresh air. Peter sighed happily and stretched out before making his way to the feed dispenser and taking out enough food to feed the three hens. There was one empty roost still, yes, but Peter still found that his heart was taken by those dear little colored chickens that he had seen in a stall at the bazaar, and that he wanted one ever so badly. Until that little girl came back with another one, the roost would be empty, waiting for its new denizen.

As the hens pecked at their food, Peter gathered up their three eggs and started off to send them to the market, spirits high with the return to his familiar farm. Perhaps things would start looking up soon enough after all.

Gosh, but he was still incredibly happy to see these hens! Believe it or not, he'd actually missed them, and not just for the lovely produce that they brought in. Given the glare that Fluffy was sending him from her one open eye, Peter could tell that they hadn't quite missed him as much. Billy and Sally, however, were moving around quite actively already, as if they just couldn't wait to start off the day, and Peter was more than happy to oblige them.

After scattering their respective amount of feed in front of each of the chickens and letting them begin to eat happily, Peter gathered the three eggs and examined them. Each seemed healthy and ready for sale. All the better for me, he thought, brightly starting off to sell them at the market.

Peter was unfortunately a wee bit later this go around, but once he began working on the farm two hours ago, he found it nearly impossible to stop. So much work to be done if he was to make the place truly flourish...but, of course, that didn't mean that he could neglect his farm animals. After all, given the poor soil quality of the farm overall, it was more likely that he would end up turning this place into a true ranch after all.

Perhaps he might even...sell rather unique livestock.

Peter considered it, furrowing his brow as he did so, before shaking his head a bit. That was something he would tackle another day, when he actually had a barn. For now, there were chickens to feed and to tend to instead.

The chickens always needed feeding and loving on, and they seemed to be growing increasingly more loyal to Peter as the days went by, even as he merely taught Grey how to take care of the hens. He still had a tendency to pop into the coop early in the morning in order to oversee things and to be sure that they didn't mob her.

Life was good.

There, now, his hens were growing more and more happy every day, Peter noticed. Heck, even Fluffy was beginning to lay larger eggs. He loved this little chickadees, that was for sure, and fed them happily every day, even giving them little soft pats when they were feeling particularly affectionate one day or another. He was extremely cheery about it all, really. He was on his way to a beautiful ranch.

With his crops all planted and Sally tucked away inside the coop, Peter slipped inside to feed the chickens. They were as hyperactive as usual, and Peter began to grow curious if they would slow down at all once it began to get colder. Somehow, he highly doubted it. After scattering around plenty of seed for them to eat and plucking their eggs away from them, which they now accepted happily with no worries about him, Peter slipped out to pay Candi a visit as well.

Gathered:
  • Small egg: 100G.
  • Medium egg: 70G.

The chickens were flourishing under Peter's constant attention again, what with the way that he was always there during a set schedule and fed them until they grew fat and happy. Their eggs were slowly increasing in quality as well, which only resulted in better meals for the Lyfields and better profits as well for those which were sold. However, there was still an empty, naked spot in the corner, where one more chicken should be. Peter often considered it with a curious eye, wondering how much longer it would be until he could officially fill it.

Gathered:
  • Small egg (x10): 1000G.
  • Medium egg: 350G.

Feed remaining: 28.
