Professor Schmidt sat at her desk, parchment covering most of it, along with an ink pot and a quill. She had just stopped writing, having finished preparing her next class.

Now she sat and waited for Amy Harrison to turn up for her detention...

Amy had just finished her charms homework when she had to go to detention. What fun... she grabbed her bag and exited the Slytherin common room. After a walk, she stood outside the Transfiguration classroom. She sighed heavy before knocking on the door.

"Come in." Professor Schmidt said, her voice seemed quiet but Miss Harrison still heard her. She entered.

"Ah Miss Harrison. Welcome to detention, over the years we seem to have had a lot of these together. Now, take a seat on the front row and get out your transfiguration book, turn to page 204 and beginning copying, just keep going until i tell you to stop. If you have any problems, ask."

Amy sighed again, before seating herself on one of the desks in the front row. She took her transfiguration book from her bag and opened it on page 204.

Ordinary Transfiguration of a human into an animal's shape results in the human having an animal's brain, and thus being unable to remember what he or she was supposed to be doing. Retaining one's human mental capacities while still taking on an animal's form is a highly advanced form of transfiguration, and can go horribly wrong. Consequently, those who can master this Transfiguration are quite rare in the wizarding world; they are referred to as Animagi. More precisely, an Animagus is a witch or wizard who has the ability to transfigure herself/himself into an animal at will while retaining her/his mental powers, such as the ability to think as a human.

It is possible for another witch or wizard who is sufficiently knowledgeable to force an Animagus to transfigure from animal shape back into human shape; the incantation (if any) for the spell is not currently known, but it is accompanied by a flash of light around the target Animagus. If used on a true animal, the "resume natural shape" spell would have no effect... and so it continued.

Amy groaned as she took parchment and a quill from her bag.

"Miss Harrison you are here to do work, i suggest you do it...and fast. You wouldnt want to be responsible for Slytherin losing more House Points would you?"

Professor Schmidt peared over the top of her glasses as another girl entered the room. Of course this girl didnt use the door, she glided through the wall and glided over to Schmidt, her book in her hand.

Professor Schmidt was quite friendly with this girl, although she was to forever walk the corridors of Hogwarts she loved reading, and often came to Professor Schmidt when she didnt understand something.

Now as the two talked, Professor Schmidt took her eyes away from Amy...

Amy had to bite her tongue hard for not snapping back on the professor. "Stay calm, Ames, stay calm... rolig, rolig..." she said to herself over and over again. Suddenly, the ghost of a girl entered the room with a book in her hands... and she was blocking Schmidt's vision to Amy.

Amy looked up from her copying and enjoyed this little free time. This was her opportunity to do her copying easier... or someone would perhaps call that cheating. But hey, Amy was a Slytherin. But she also knew Professor Schmidt had her own secret ways to expose cheaters... and then take points from them and if they were lucky, another detention.

No, Amy was not going to give Schmidt another opportunity to give her another detention. Her left hand turned into a fist and she could feel the stitching pain when her nails dug into her palm. She shook her head and went back to copying.

Professor Schmidt smiled at the ghost as she floated away. Looking at her hourlgass she noted that the detention was finished.

"Miss Harrison, you may go. Dont leave anything behind. And dont let it happen again." The tone of Schmidt's voice let Miss Harrison know she wasnt joking.

Amy laughed inside her when Professor Schmidt told her it better not happen again. Yeah riiiiight... She gathered her things and walked out of the transfiguration classroom. "What a waste of time..."
