Bountiful with a rescued man named Sweeney Todd, Anthony spotted Johanna Barker. He was punished for doing this by Johanna's guardian, but remained steadfast in love with her. When Turpin went missing, he was able to steal her away. However, his mother's condition worsened and he has not left her bedside except to sleep and hold his Johanna.
