The Rules.

These are the things you have to read. We will be checking, and you will be held responsible for the information here. We may not be the cops, but we do not take ignorance as an excuse. So here we are.

The Absolutes
These are the rules that if you break them, I will rain down fire onto your character, strike them with lightening, do something bad to them until they die. Then I will have a funeral, and if you make another character and do it again, I will ban you from my site.

Disobeying the Admins. As far as this board is concerned, we are gods. If you piss us off too badly, we may delete you. No one will be deleted for no reason, which means, please don't give us a reason.

Absolutely NO God-modding. This means that if it is not your character, you do not get to determine what he or she does. Helpful tip: if you're not sure, DON'T DO IT. This is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine, and I will not warn you. Period.

Out of Character Fighting. We all love a little drama, but let's keep it between characters, okay? Handle your conflicts maturely; talk things out in PM. Failing that, PM an admin, and we will gladly help. If it comes down to throwing insults publicly, you may be banned.

The Generals
These are the rules that are pretty basic, but there are exceptions. Basically, if you have an objection to one of these, PM an admin, and we will discuss it.

Numbers. There is no technical limit to the number of characters you may play. However, the characters you take may not be in the same family or subplot as one another. Which means, keep it down to a reasonable number. If you can handle five characters, go ahead. But if it gets up in the double digits, you might be receiving a PM asking what's going on. Also, please try not to take more than one of the most popular canons, i.e. Leighton Meester and Sophia Bush should not be played by the same person. You may be in as many threads at one time as you like, seeing as the site operates on liquid time.

Registering: Please make sure you register with both a first and last name. It looks much cleaner.

Activity. Stay active! That means if you're going to be gone for more than a couple of days, post in the away thread. Try to get on every day or two, just so the people you're posting with don't get frustrated or stuck, but we all understand the real life trumps imaginationland. Canons, purebloods, and hunters who do not respond to activity checks will lose their characters. They are just too important to be left unused.

Thread Tags. If a thread is marked "open" or left blank, that means the creator doesn't mind if you join in the thread. If there is a tag or anything including a person's name in the description slot, that means it is a closed thread, and you should ask permission before joining.

Posts. All posts should be in third person, past tense, for simplicity's sake. There is no set length for the posts, but do reciprocate. Meaning, if the person you're posting with is giving you three paragraphs, you shouldn't be returning with three sentences. Do not post anywhere until you've been accepted.

Original Characters: Even though we prefer you apply as a canon character, we are accepting original characters. First and foremost, we will not be accepting any other species besides vampire or human. Secondly, if you want a character to have an important role such as Pureblood, you will be required to PM your character idea and a writing sample to either Yuuki, Zero, Hime, or Maria prior to even posting your application.

There is currently a ban on: Prospective Guardians, Vampire Hunters and Purebloods.

Face Claims: While we accepted video game characters as face claims here in the past, we will no longer be accepting them. If you can find line art of that character and would like to use them then that's fine. Just no video game graphics. Your face claim must be that of a anime or manga character. Original art is also acceptable, just be sure to credit the artist.

Crossovers: NSMB does not allow the creation of crossover characters. A crossover is the placement of two or more otherwise discrete fictional characters, settings, or universes into the context of a single story. So basically...if your face claim is Light Yagami, first and foremost, your character can't be named such. Secondly, he's not going to be a super genius with a hero complex, intent on eradicating the world of evil. A face-claim is just that, claiming a picture to be your character's face. Don't bring along the face-claims personality.

Rating. This site is rated R. This means that sex, drugs, violence, and anything else you want to put in is welcome. The catch? Put a "mature" warning label on the thread. This can be on the first post, or, if it takes an unexpected turn, at the top of the first post in which anything graphic happens. It MUST be obvious. Don't like graphic scenes? Don't read them. Don't write them.

Graphics Guidelines. Each character must have at least one graphic associated with it. This makes it easier for other players to visualize what's going on. The graphic must include an image of your character. Avatars are 100x100, signatures are no larger than 500x300. No more than two rows of four 100x100 avs in your signature, or 2 200x200 (ish) avs. Basically, don't stretch my board. If you stretch my board, your graphics will be removed without warning. If you need help making graphics, there is a graphics request thread located in the OOC forum. Also, NO STEALING! If the artist asks you to credit, then credit. If the artist doesn't ask you to credit, that's fine, but don't go telling people you made it yourself. That's lying, copyright violation, etc. and it's just bad, and I won't tolerate it.

Advertising. Should be kept to the appropriate forum. Discussion of other sites in the Cbox is one thing. Saying "go visit my site" will result in annoyed admins (see rule #1). Instead of putting a link to your site in your conversation, say, "My site is <name here>. Go look in the advertisement forum." Follow directions, post where appropriate, and we'll all be fine. This includes advertising in your signatures. I don't mind a simple text link, but please do not add your banners and buttons when they're already up in the affiliates section.

Changes. May occur at any time. We, the admins, have the right to update these rules. We may or may not inform you at the time, so make sure you scan these every once in awhile.
