Ad Removal, Firefox <3

Step Number One:

To get rid of advertisements you first need to have a browser called 'Firefox', if you don't already have this browser, I suggest you download it on mozilla.com: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

There are more advantages to Firefox then getting your forum ad-free. Firefox displays forum skins much better and also you can work with tabbed-browing. Having mutliple tabs open in one window, it also makes admining your board much easier. (for instance I have in one tab the forum open, and in a second tab I open the admin cp).

Once downloaded, install Firefox.

Step Number Two:

Firefox has another advantage, the ability to instal add-ons. You can instal additional features to Firefox, for instance you can instal a search engine, dictionaries in different languages, or even change the look of your browser with themes.

The add-on we are going to install is called Ad-Block, and is found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Download and install the Ad-Block add-on.

Step Number Three:

Once installed, go to your forum, or any forum by that matter and right click on the advertisement and choose 'ad-block'. Now you see in the above bar one big url, which is the specific url of that particular advertisement. If you click ok, you only get rid off that one. But we want to get rid of all the advertisements on the forums.

Instead of that one, put this url into the area:

This will remove all the google ads on forums. Not only on the index page, but also in all the topics. This also works for Proboards, as they also use google ads. Now all the forums and website who you visit, and use google ads, are ad-free.

I'd like to add that this add-on is absolutely amazing. Those ads stretch out the site skin so horribly. I don't think I could stomach RPing on an IF board without this feature. I recommend it to everyone.
