Title: Kamikazecon

D - February 25, 2010 02:27 AM (GMT)
Twenty-four days. Twenty-three for those of you in the Eastern Hemisphere.

That is currently the amount of time remaining until the anime convention known as Kamikazecon, which is local to Solvash, mukomo, and myself. While the convention may not explain mukomo's slight in-activeness (since he is not, to my knowledge, planning to go to convention) this is putting pressure on both Solvash and myself.

I am currently working on a cosplay for the main antagonist of Final Fantasy IX, Zidane Tribal (alternately acting as a costume for Daniel Ijokish/Sedon Trebal). This is putting a certain amount of pressure on myself since the cosplay is still incomplete and the hardest parts of the costume's creation are still ahead.

This means that it is very likely that I will become increasingly inactive as the time of Kamikazecon draws steadily nearer, so please bear with me if I begin to appear only very briefly, fazing in and out every so often only to check on things. Furthermore, on the weekend of Friday the 19th of March, I am likely to be totally inactive all three days since those are the days that Kamikazecon will be running. This is without mentioning some of my own personal stress, but I will do my best to make sure that any depressed feelings I have don't get in the way of my moderating and role-playing.

As for Solvash, he is currently working on the creation of numerous swords (including the Mage Mashers for myself since they would need to be completed by Kamikazecon) and quite possibly the improvement of his own cosplay (Godot from Phoenix Right).

Not to mention that other friends of his commission him to make swords for them as well. As such, he may also be quite inactive as well.

I figured it would be best to forewarn you all before we actually do become inactive so that you don't wonder what's happened to us.

When I have the entire cosplay complete, I'll get some pictures of Daniel (Sedon Trebal) Ijokish to add to our collections on our deviantART group. Don't forget to check it out if you haven't already!

I suppose it is true...not to mention just plain old regular work from school. In fact, I've already been slightly in-active...Ahahaha...Well, thanks anyway, D, for letting everyone know of the situation.

darn.. I always wanted to go to such a convention. I dunno if I'd cosplay since I have NO idea what I would cosplay as, perhaps the Joker from Batman or something :P Or just buy one of those awesome jedi robes and come there as a nerdy star wars freak and be overwhelmed by the awesomeness. Did I mention it would be awesome?

Oh yeah. Hey, D, here's a work in progress picture on the mage mashers. user posted image

Hehehe, thanks. Oh, and about what we discussed today, the whole "spiral: carved VS glued," I think I've thought up an easier way to do it. So I can make it more accurate and 3D.

THen I'll ask you about it on the way to fifth period. Not that you'll read this before then, but it makes sense to reply. xd

Edit: Or not. I didn't see you with Footy-kun today. :o

Solvash - March 10, 2010 12:12 AM (GMT)
Footy-kun...? I assume you're talking about J, but why 'footy'?

In anycase, I've cut out the second mage masher today.

D - March 10, 2010 01:11 AM (GMT)
Nah, not J. I'm talking about ttaM. I started calling him that last year when he informed me that his head is a foot tall.

Anyways, what was this new idea?

Solvash - March 11, 2010 04:29 AM (GMT)
Oh, I realized that I could have used some sort of clay instead of cutting out the spirals out of wood. It'd be far easier and faster to do. I'm still looking at what kind of clay to use. Someone on deviantart made a pair of mage mashers and did something similar. They used 'paper clay' so I'm looking into that.

Clay? O.o Wouldn't that make them heavy? But, hey, if it works, that's all right~ ^_^

I'll be almost if not totally inactive all day tomorrow for some SAT testing prep and cosplay work. Sorry guys.

EDIT: That is no longer today but tomorrow due to weather problems and family issues.
