Ntavelis Cave
In the mountain of marble, Mt. Penteli, lies Ntavelis' Cave. Where an old marble quarry was, and the old hideout of Ntavelis, it is more than just a disturbing history. It is believed that it leads to a tunnel system; with exits reaching places miles away. There are abnormalities in the magnetic field in the place, stories of it being a hotspot for UFO's and humanoids, and, for one team of people, difficulty with electronics in some areas of the cave.
There is supposedly a green glow about some places inside the cave at night, and an unnerving air about it. People have said to disappear here, and in one case, such is almost proved. A child's set of footprints was found imprinted in wet concrete, and the footprints were found leading to a dead-end wall of rock. Of course, there were no footprints coming back.

Paris Catacombs
Beneath the charred city above, the caverns lay untouched by the destruction. The skulls and bones of numerous individuals line the walls and paths, and light is scarce, brought only by candles left by past citizens. The air is stale and never moves, which leaves a traveler without a guide when looking for fresh air, which means an exit. Many have gone in, only to turn and find a row of skulls blocking their exit. Phantoms have also driven some deep into the dark, only to let the beings die a slow, painful death of starvation. Be careful, for the dead can still harm the living, and the human spirits aren’t too friendly to those who brought death to their race.

Leap Castle
It all started when a brother murdered another, one killing the other, the victim being a priest. It happened during service, in what is now the 'Bloody Chapel.' In another room, a dungeon, a hole in the floor led to a collection of spikes eight feet below. Skulls and skeletons littered the floor, some impaled, some on the ground, starved to death while the sounds of those above and below tortured their minds.
Undead corpses are said to stand in doorways, staring out with half-decomposed eyes at the living. And even though the Mexican exorcized the place of all malevolence, the destroying of the human race and tainted Yesterday magic brought the evil back to the place. While a sturdy stronghold thanks to renovations centuries back, it is unnerving.

Giza Plateau / Great Pyramid
Atop the Giza Plateau, time has cut away at the only surviving wonder of the world. That, and the Plague. The true opening to the passages into the pyramid are gaping to the world, while inside, in the true tomb of Khufu, treasure lies, untouched by mortal thieves. The Great Gallery still has a sense of hushed voices around it, and one stands in awe and respect when even in the presence of this great phenomenon. The other pyramids were unable to combat the Plague, and are in ruins. The Sphinx is barely recognizable, and too dangerous to come near, since rocks from its crumbling formation fall now and then, and some pieces are large enough to crush a battalion of soldiers.

Alcatraz
Old Hellcatraz. Famous for holding such hardened criminals as Al Capone, 'The Rock' is now home to the feline's headquarters. The prison cells, though, still echo with the pain and torture of those souls long gone by.
A mysterious entity with red eyes stalks the halls and cells, striking pure fear into those who witness it, and it is said to try and strangle those it catches or finds in the cells. Disembodies screaming and footsteps are commonplace here, as well as the chilling, and powerful, feeling of being watched by evil eyes. While not the best place to spend a night alone, its defense standpoint is invaluable. Especially since you must have a great knowledge of the layout of the island to maneuver the poorly built rafts both armies depend on to navigate water onto the island without crashing into the deadly rocks and cliffs.

Superstition Mountains
Some of the mountains have been wiped clean off of the map, while others have been stripped off all life and have been made toxic to the living. But for the few bits and pieces of the Superstitions that remain partially untouched, it retains the majesty and beauty of the mountains before the Plague.
One of these places includes the Lost Dutchman's Mine. It is said to be the only tunnel not barred by rock falls and such, but the inside is treacherous and prone to what doomed the other tunnels to eternal silence. And, it is also recorded that the spirits of those who died looking for it draw those brave enough to wander inside into the depths of the tunnel. So much so, they get lost, and, of course, are never seen again.

Winchester Mystery House
Little Ms. Sarah Winchester was the heiress to the Winchester rifles. Sarah was informed by a physic that all the countless souls murdered by her rifles would come back to seek revenge upon her, unless she built a house for them, and was always being built for them. For near 38 years, the house was always in construction. It is said she would go to her séance room every night, using a different route each time in case the spirits tried to 'get' her, and ask these spirits what they wanted her to build. She would let them guide her pencil-ridden hand to show her exactly what they wanted. And some of what they wanted included stairs that lead to ceilings, doors that open to nothing but a couple-story drop, cupboards with 1/2-inch storage space, and other strange things.
Most of the plants on her property are dead or dying, besides one. A hedge. And that hedge is shaped like a crescent moon, and strangely, points to the bedroom in which little Sarah Winchester died.

Amityville Horror House
It all started in 1974, when a slaughter of six occurred in 112 Ocean Avenue. The only surviving member of the family, their eldest son, was sentenced to 150 years of imprisonment. Though, through all this, he pled insanity and being controlled by some demonic entity.
A second family moved into the property, only to have a priest bless the place on their first day. It is said the priest left saying something was already there, something he was uncomfortable with. It is also said that the family's dog was tied in the back, and had almost hung itself from its chain trying to leave the property. Strong smells of an unpleasant nature was commonplace, and a dark substance dripped from keyholes. A green jelly-like substance came from the walls, and flies commonly gathered in a room in which the priest felt the most uncomfortable. The sound of a brass band was also heard, along with doors slamming and the sound of footsteps in the night. And visions started after the sounds. It is said shadows would dash in and out of peripheral vision, and eyes would watch hungrily from outside. Hoof prints would be found outside, and furniture would be found out of place. The family tried reciting the Lord’s Prayer inside the house, but numerous, chilling voices yelled at them to stop the prayer.
When the family finally tried to leave, the entities tried to keep them to stay. The family's youngest daughter had an 'imaginary friend' who kept telling her she would live in the house forever, and a hooded figure dwelled at the top of the stairs, pointing at the family as they left.
It is said this happened because the Shinnecock Indians used the ground to isolate sick and insane members of their tribe, and others say it is just a hoax. But whatever you believe, if you enter the quaint waterfront farmhouse, you might find it harder to leave than you think.

Canaima Yeng
A few words can strike both sheer disgust and fear into people. And one of those is cannibal. This temple was home to the Carib Indians. These Indians believed that if an enemy's flesh was eaten, the power of the enemy would transfer to their own body. It was practice that the slain enemy's chest would be opened and the heart cut out, and then the organ was made a powder, mixed with a drink, and therefore ingested.
Those that have camped near the granite temple have told stories of drums beating and chanting going on during the night, even though the temple is deserted. Screams also accompany the chanting. And during the day, an uncomfortable pressure is sometimes felt over the heart, and when two men took pictures, they spotted orbs in each of the pictures. Orbs usually aren't anything special, except that each orb was directly over the person's heart.
The temple is hard to reach, being so remote and in the heart of the rainforest. But this also prevents enemies from making an easy entrance. Of course, who needs all that protection when you have a whole tribe of disembodied cannibal spirits hanging around?

The House of Laughter
The year was 1973, and General Pinochet took over the now long-gone country of Chile. Detention centers were set up for interrogation of prisoners taken in for political reasons. Once there, the poor souls were victim to dreadful tortures and executions. 'The House of Laughter' was given its name due to the loud music, which came from inside 24/7. In truth, this music was only to hide the screams of those inside.
A few years later, the building was doomed to demolition. The workers gave accounts of screams, children's cries, pounding on the windows, and even now and then the music that cloaked so much horror. Strange passageways and torture chambers were brought up, and many of the workers were forced to leave due to the violent aura around the place. But eventually, the building was brought to the ground. It is now a pile of rubble over so many secrets, but who's to say there isn't something underground? If you can find the entrances to the tunnels, and get inside, I would be wary of the literally tortured souls that may still walk in the dark.

Rose Hall
Annie Palmer was a witch. Plain and simple. She practiced the dark art of voodoo, and had a lustful sexual appetite. She had married the owner of Rose Hall, a plantation in Jamaica. But she soon grew bored of him, and poisoned him. She married two others, which both met gruesome deaths but 'Yellow Fever' was put under the cause of death. Eventually, one of the nearly 2,000 slaves notices that her eyes were traveling to his daughter's fiancé. In what was said to be a battle of voodoo, they both killed each other.
Annie Palmer was buried, with a cross on three sides of her grave to contain her black magic. Of course, when the Plague came, these crosses were damaged, and being the small things they were, partially or totally destroyed. This has set her angry spirit free again, with years of hate and evil boiling in her soul. The old bloodstains that reappeared, seeming old and dry, after being sanded, day after day, are back, only this time they seem wet. The old mirror that hangs in the main hall holds ghastly spirits, including those of Annie Herself and many of the slaves who unfortunately worked there. Be careful, my friend, be careful.

Uluru/Ayers Rock
'The Rock,' as it is sometimes called, is made out of a mineral called arkose, a type of mineral slightly resembling sandstone. While more famously attributed with its red color, atmospheric conditions and the position of the sun can cause the Rock to change color. One such incident occurred when it changed to a pale violet color. Aborigines believed that it was a source of power, called Tjukurpa.' Many caves in the Uluru are covered in old paintings, the paintings eerily intact after all these years of no habitation to renew them.

Port Arthur
Lodged on what was once Tasmania, Port Arthur is now on a peninsula, and not an island. Though, it is only connected to Australia by a thin stretch of land, which overflows during high-tide, making it a treacherous place to cross if you don't time it just right. Cliffs line most of the sides (sloping down to meet the land bridge), and chaotic ocean lines that.
'Hell on Earth,' which was what the large castle-like prison was sometimes called, was open for a dreadful forty-four years. Prisoners were set to backbreaking work, and if they slackened, lashings were commonly seen. A more severe punishment was the solitary confinement, which lasted anywhere from months to years. The rooms were designed to block out everything from the outside, including sounds, smells, and even light. This drove many to the breaking point, or to insanity even.
Cold-spots, orbs, and uneasy feelings are the most common unusual occurrences. Voices and footsteps are also commonly heard. Seeing apparitions of guards and prisoners has also been reported, and even more rarely, a few people have reported having a conversation with a convict that disappears.
There have also been reports of attacks by spectral beings, and finding themselves utterly lost within its dark, cold walls. In one cell, visitors find themselves unable to move and being strangled by some invisible force. One woman even reported bruises on her neck afterward.
A small island lies between the Tasmanian peninsula and the mainland, and it where the thousands of inmates are buried. But just how many rest in peace?

Monte Cristo
Known as the most haunted place in Australia, Monte Cristo is no place to be taken lightly. Elizabeth Crawley was married to the first owner of the place, and fell to deep mourning when her husband died at the age of sixty-nine. It's said that she turned a room of the house into a chapel, and almost never left. Though it might be, and probably is, exaggerated, it's reported that she left her property only twice in twenty-three years. And after those twenty-three years, she died as well. Her ghost is often seen in her trademark black dress, holding what's said to be a silver cross to her chest. She likes to have control of things, and even in her spiritual form literally tells guests of the house off. Loud footsteps are often heard as well; even considering the whole house is carpeted. The spirit of a woman, which is said to be that of a pregnant maid who jumped to her death, is seen on the front balcony. Though it has been many years since she did this, the bloodstain on the steps below has continued to reappear after it has been washed away.
Faces have been seen staring through windows on the second story, even when there is no balcony. A disturbing air fills the stairway, which is not surprising considering a baby girl was dropped to her death there. Though, strangely, the maid who was carrying her said that an invisible force pushed the baby out of her arms.
A young lad has also been seen wandering the grounds. It is said to be the spirit of a boy who was burned to death by the stable master when he refused to work that day due to illness. The words 'Die Jack ha ha' are seen scribbled on the caretaker's house, which is probably from the kid who shot the old caretaker Jackie for unknown reasons.
'The Mount of Christ' (which is what its name is translated into) is a strange place. It is eerily almost untouched by the plague, though it wouldn't be too far from the truth to say the place was already plagued. Its brick walls have been washed in blood and misery, as this old place has seen its fare share of the coldest of human nature.

The Street With No Name
'The Street With No Name' is really just an overgrown, deserted path beside an overgrown, deserted railway. It is a place, though, that strikes fear into hearts. It has a bloody past to call its own, and to top it all off (to the mainstream), its own bat colony.
In 1968, the hacked body of a boy, only three years of age, was found stashed on the path. A few years later, body of another boy, this time twelve, was found killed due to the crushing of the head with a rock. Only months later was a boy of the same age found, stabbed to death. A homeless man was also murdered near the place, supposedly beaten to death. A young girl was found, also dead, though details of this murder are scarce, though it is supposedly a satanic murder, adding to the 'evil' aura about the place.
Footsteps are commonly heard, and stabbing sensations near the stomach, ribs, and lower back are sometimes reported. Cold breezes/spots, dancing lights, and unpleasant scents are also seen and felt. The dancing lights, which are two orbs floating along, are supposedly the spirits of two of the numerous murdered souls.
There is one spirit though, supposedly the only in the world, that can quell the tainted Yesterday's magic in animals' hearts, and let peace reign supreme. His name is Jock, and he died trying to rescue an injured possum on the railway tracks from an oncoming train. Of course, Jock was too slow. They say you can still see him, floating along the tracks, looking for any other animals to help.
If you can make it past the other menacing spirits and feelings of the place, perhaps you too could meet friendly ol' Jock.
