Uluru/Ayers Rock
'The Rock,' as it is sometimes called, is made out of a mineral called arkose, a type of mineral slightly resembling sandstone. While more famously attributed with its red color, atmospheric conditions and the position of the sun can cause the Rock to change color. One such incident occurred when it changed to a pale violet color. Aborigines believed that it was a source of power, called Tjukurpa.' Many caves in the Uluru are covered in old paintings, the paintings eerily intact after all these years of no habitation to renew them.

Port Arthur
Lodged on what was once Tasmania, Port Arthur is now on a peninsula, and not an island. Though, it is only connected to Australia by a thin stretch of land, which overflows during high-tide, making it a treacherous place to cross if you don't time it just right. Cliffs line most of the sides (sloping down to meet the land bridge), and chaotic ocean lines that.
'Hell on Earth,' which was what the large castle-like prison was sometimes called, was open for a dreadful forty-four years. Prisoners were set to backbreaking work, and if they slackened, lashings were commonly seen. A more severe punishment was the solitary confinement, which lasted anywhere from months to years. The rooms were designed to block out everything from the outside, including sounds, smells, and even light. This drove many to the breaking point, or to insanity even.
Cold-spots, orbs, and uneasy feelings are the most common unusual occurrences. Voices and footsteps are also commonly heard. Seeing apparitions of guards and prisoners has also been reported, and even more rarely, a few people have reported having a conversation with a convict that disappears.
There have also been reports of attacks by spectral beings, and finding themselves utterly lost within its dark, cold walls. In one cell, visitors find themselves unable to move and being strangled by some invisible force. One woman even reported bruises on her neck afterward.
A small island lies between the Tasmanian peninsula and the mainland, and it where the thousands of inmates are buried. But just how many rest in peace?

Monte Cristo
Known as the most haunted place in Australia, Monte Cristo is no place to be taken lightly. Elizabeth Crawley was married to the first owner of the place, and fell to deep mourning when her husband died at the age of sixty-nine. It's said that she turned a room of the house into a chapel, and almost never left. Though it might be, and probably is, exaggerated, it's reported that she left her property only twice in twenty-three years. And after those twenty-three years, she died as well. Her ghost is often seen in her trademark black dress, holding what's said to be a silver cross to her chest. She likes to have control of things, and even in her spiritual form literally tells guests of the house off. Loud footsteps are often heard as well; even considering the whole house is carpeted. The spirit of a woman, which is said to be that of a pregnant maid who jumped to her death, is seen on the front balcony. Though it has been many years since she did this, the bloodstain on the steps below has continued to reappear after it has been washed away.
Faces have been seen staring through windows on the second story, even when there is no balcony. A disturbing air fills the stairway, which is not surprising considering a baby girl was dropped to her death there. Though, strangely, the maid who was carrying her said that an invisible force pushed the baby out of her arms.
A young lad has also been seen wandering the grounds. It is said to be the spirit of a boy who was burned to death by the stable master when he refused to work that day due to illness. The words 'Die Jack ha ha' are seen scribbled on the caretaker's house, which is probably from the kid who shot the old caretaker Jackie for unknown reasons.
'The Mount of Christ' (which is what its name is translated into) is a strange place. It is eerily almost untouched by the plague, though it wouldn't be too far from the truth to say the place was already plagued. Its brick walls have been washed in blood and misery, as this old place has seen its fare share of the coldest of human nature.

The Street With No Name
'The Street With No Name' is really just an overgrown, deserted path beside an overgrown, deserted railway. It is a place, though, that strikes fear into hearts. It has a bloody past to call its own, and to top it all off (to the mainstream), its own bat colony.
In 1968, the hacked body of a boy, only three years of age, was found stashed on the path. A few years later, body of another boy, this time twelve, was found killed due to the crushing of the head with a rock. Only months later was a boy of the same age found, stabbed to death. A homeless man was also murdered near the place, supposedly beaten to death. A young girl was found, also dead, though details of this murder are scarce, though it is supposedly a satanic murder, adding to the 'evil' aura about the place.
Footsteps are commonly heard, and stabbing sensations near the stomach, ribs, and lower back are sometimes reported. Cold breezes/spots, dancing lights, and unpleasant scents are also seen and felt. The dancing lights, which are two orbs floating along, are supposedly the spirits of two of the numerous murdered souls.
There is one spirit though, supposedly the only in the world, that can quell the tainted Yesterday's magic in animals' hearts, and let peace reign supreme. His name is Jock, and he died trying to rescue an injured possum on the railway tracks from an oncoming train. Of course, Jock was too slow. They say you can still see him, floating along the tracks, looking for any other animals to help.
If you can make it past the other menacing spirits and feelings of the place, perhaps you too could meet friendly ol' Jock.
