Title: Sub or Dub?
Aquatic_Sky - September 27, 2008 04:19 AM (GMT)
Which do you prefer, a sub anime or a dub anime? In my opinion, I definitely prefer the sub version cuz the characters' voice sound original, and American dub is just odd for me. So I wanna hear what you guys prefer. So which is it? :???:
galidgram - September 27, 2008 04:43 AM (GMT)
Me too, Sub 4ever!!!
Don't like the sound of dubbed characters.
Leena - September 27, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
Sub of course
I like the original voices but sometimes I hate some girls voices, they sound annoying.
I like dub sometimes, but the Spanish dub from my country, english dub is odd
Sesshoumaru - September 27, 2008 10:19 AM (GMT)
I love japanese voices so absolutely subs
karina2008 - September 27, 2008 01:33 PM (GMT)
sub! Is closer to the original idea :angelsing:
chizzmex - September 27, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
I go with everyone! subs all the way! XD
but sometimes japanese voices kinda get irritating like how some of their voices get to high o.o;
kinda.. bad XD yea....
oxmemexo - September 27, 2008 09:39 PM (GMT)
sub, dub always have weird voices, yeah i guess it's ok, but just that. it could be that since i'm used to listening to it in japanese. i think that the dub is weird, but a good example of a bad dubbed anime is the prince of tennis the voices don't sound like middle schoolers they sound like. . . old people.
dreamcatcherHR - October 1, 2008 12:15 PM (GMT)
I prefer Sub because I like to watch things in their original language if possible. I don't mind the Dubs cuz I think they've gotten better now but I still like my anime in japanese :angelsing:
Rocker.Princess - October 1, 2008 04:04 PM (GMT)
no need to ask, sub is a million trillion zillion jillion times better than dub. d:
moon999 - October 1, 2008 09:48 PM (GMT)
I prefer sub becuase their cast is cool. English dub is sound sound so wierd.
Higetsu - October 1, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
SUB!!
they're so much better than dub XD
they have orginiality and they also have a wider range of pitch
in conclusion, they're superb XDDDDD
eclipse100 - October 2, 2008 07:41 AM (GMT)
I like subbed better because the voices match the characters and the songs are better when they are not in English (if they are not suppose to be). I will watch dubbed when i can't find the subbed version but i hate it when the english voices sound really bad.
ali! - October 5, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
SUB, of coz!
The main thing is the originality!
When it's dub...it's a sad thing to see the mouth movement is far cry from the words uttered. :hungry:
Riko - October 5, 2008 04:16 AM (GMT)
Well, I prefer sub. Firstly, I 'm not good at English enough to listen and understand all things. Secondly, I'd like to hear character 's voice, it's so cute! :thefinger:
chels - October 12, 2008 04:53 AM (GMT)
everyone likes sub so i feel like an idiot but, dub. i just dont like having to read it while im trying to watch it. but i do notice when people say that dub is bad, some of it is just awful.
cavinggirl - October 12, 2008 10:25 AM (GMT)
I agree...sub is usually better. Sometimes when I hear dub and then finally hear the original I'm soooo surprised at the different voices. (by the way...why are all girls idiots in anime? High squeaky voices and lots of screaming...drives me nuts)
fahdh - October 12, 2008 11:46 AM (GMT)
Irajin - October 12, 2008 01:08 PM (GMT)
sub, although i've heard most of the japanese voices over a million times already. So sometimes i turn over to dubs. But most of the time i favour subs.
eliechan - October 12, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
Subs are the best!! Dubbed aren't so good... some dubs are okay like pokemon.. but for most of the time I like subs... you get more emotion from subs than dub...
Chara - October 15, 2008 05:41 PM (GMT)
I don't think I can decide on that. That depends on the Anime, I believe. Some can't be heard as Dubs, because the dub is dreadful. I think I can say that from Naruto (german Dub). Some I Like even better as Dubs, let's say, Sailor Moon and the old one, (Trapp Family Story, Heidi and Co.) Those I don't want to have with subs, and I believe that's because I grew up with the german versions.^^
gatita - October 16, 2008 11:10 AM (GMT)
Definitely sub, cause I like to have the proper voices. It seems so strange to listen to dubbed versions after hearing the original voices!
mangaluver3 - October 16, 2008 08:59 PM (GMT)
sub all the way. i hate dub - it sounds so bad and fake, and english with japanese people (generally the characters r japanese..) is just...bleh. and i just luv listening to japanese!! :??: japanese is the best sounding language EVER. and sub is just...genuine! the emotions in sub sound real, but the dubs always sound so fake and plastic. :notlistening:
zanyduke - October 17, 2008 07:36 AM (GMT)
Sub is the best. i bought before chinese-dubbed anime.
It makes the anime unbearable to watch when the girl shriek in fear or happiness :scared:
bluekay - October 17, 2008 02:11 PM (GMT)
sub is better cause the dub version sounds like the person is not right!" Japanese is a annoying language O_o but I'm use to it.. and sometimes the girls are irrating my ears haha
Pawyn - October 20, 2008 12:31 AM (GMT)
Subs for me, too! Even if I don't understand a word of the original language (I wish I could understand Japanese!!). Most of the time dubbed versions are so bad >.<
And well, you don't get the play from actors (original dubbers' voices play for anime...) like it was meant to be :/
lucyesrod - October 20, 2008 02:03 AM (GMT)
I prefer subs is better because of the sound, the voices...the dubs sounds fake.
paradoxical - October 20, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
I definitely like subbed better than dubbed for the most part. A lot of the time dubbed voices sound odd or don't seem to fit as well as they do in their original Japanese. There are some exceptions though of pretty good dubs, but that seems to be more of the exception than the rule.
laoun - October 31, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
I prefer sub way better!!!!! in fact, with time i get to learn some stuff. but if i have to watch something dub ... definitely not in english, its just soo ARGH!!! i hate it ... spanish is best
merissa_heiderich - November 1, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
:goodjob: Sub of course
I like the original voices
silmeria - November 1, 2008 08:32 AM (GMT)
I obviously prefer the sub version. Most of the dub versions, not all though, have 'not-so-very-good' voice actors. Some are kinda lame. The Japanese voice actors have more emotions in their voices.
vc99 - November 1, 2008 10:03 AM (GMT)
i never liked any dubbed versions.. it sounds so weird!! that's why i always prefer the subbed version!!
BBB - November 1, 2008 03:03 PM (GMT)
I like it when it is subbed in english better than dubbed.
lol
you may think me funny. :hehe:
etineski - November 1, 2008 03:43 PM (GMT)
would like it dubbed in a good way so can see art more! :hungry:
lilochic - November 1, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
:study: i think SUB is better...lol...and sub is english....lol so i understand it more...hehe
zhengcano - November 1, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
subs. for me, it feels weird when its dubbed, especially bad dubs. ugh, they butcher the japanese names.
nhung - November 2, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
Definately anime with sub. :cheer:
I like the original sound + voice
Alora Corr - November 2, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
Subs anyday! There voices are so original and fit the character so well they show emotion and feelings in what they do or say it is in the language that the writer intended it to be in and what the writer imagined it in dubbing just takes away all the feelings and emotions from the anime. Yes definitely subs.
Haru - November 3, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
Definintely subs...dubs are just..ugh :notlistening: but I heard that if you started watching anime with dubs, then you don't like subs...and if you start with subs, then you don't like dubs. Kinda weird but yah..I never liked dubs anyways...it just ruins the whole point of 'anime' imo. =/ :breath: People have their perferences though~
Liz - November 6, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
100% SUB!!
Unless it's an English movie and the Japanese people are doing the dubbing. Somehow, Japanese animes all have almost perfect seiryuus(I think that's how you spell it? I mean = Voice actors)
Whoever who does the dubbing of Jap animes into English.... have got no voice expressions whatsoever! They sound so monotonous and bored at the same time. Has anyone watched the Sailor Moon dubbed in English? HORRIBLE...
Sailor Moon dubbed in Cantonese actually sounded pretty good, with all the right expressions at all the right times...
Skyzel - November 14, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
SUBS. I actually can't stand dubs... they just sound wrong. Inuyasha is an exception because I really like the English cast. :superman:
