Title: H.channel Show Can Be Summed Up By This Quote.

bmx_ryan360 - August 22, 2007 07:35 AM (GMT)
This is my first post and I've been reading some viewer responses to the History Channel hit piece. That whole documentary can be summed up by this quote from the book Propaganda, written in the 1920's before television.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government, which is the true ruling power of our government. We our governed, our minds molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of"- Edward Bernays, nephew of Sigmund Freud
(p.71, of his book Propaganda).

Hitler's Nazi Reich actually based their propaganda off of Bernays' research.

Welcome! (that welcome is assuming that you understand what you wrote, and I'm thinking you do)

The great masses of the people ... will more easily fall victims to a big lie than to a small one. - Adolf Hitler

Nah, I saw a bulletin Dylan posted on myspace so that's how I found out about this place. I really don't know if that show was pure propaganda but I'd say it was about 50% propaganda and 50% disinfo.

I have a friend that now lives in New York that woke me up to all of this about 2 to 3 years ago...

There seems to be a lot of disinfo out there now days. Last night I was wondering if I would have found out about this now and researched it - would I be able to sift through all the dirt and be able to find the facts like I did back then?

"I am glad 9/11 Happened" - Bill Maher

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman" - Bill Clinton

That quote could be used to describe the people that say 9/11 was an inside job.
It bats both ways.

"We can not just pull out our troops and cut & run" - Bill Clinton

You wouldn't use that quote to describe Loose Change? Because I certainly would.
