November 2nd, 1983: the night the Winchester's lives changed forever. The night their mother died. The night the destinies of two normal boys shifted into the destinies of heroes. Unfortunately, with the change in fate, the boys also inherited pain, loss and death, though this had always been the fate heaven intended for the Winchesters.

May 10th, 2007: The day Samuel Winchester, youngest of the brothers, died, leaving behind a distraught Dean. In his panic, Dean raced to the crossroads in order to make a deal for his lost brother. Dean was given one year to live before being sent to Hell for bringing his brother back to life.

May 2nd, 2008: The night Dean Winchester was sent to Hell. After spending a year that was much too short with his sibling, Dean had been attacked by Hellhounds and sent to the pit.

September 18th, 2008: Dean wakes up in a pine box. He has come "out of the fire, and back into the frying pan", so beginning the Winchester's newest and most perilous journey.

One word: Angels

They are in the lore of every civilization since the beginning of time. Soldiers against the darkness, defenders of the weak, crusaders of hope and symbols of all that is holy and pure in this forsaken universe. Everyone knows stories, legends and random things about them. With so many people knowing of them, how could they not be real?

Yet with all the proof, hunters of the supernatural, knowing and believing in all things paranormally related often have trouble believing in things that are good in the world. When you stare into the darkness too long, it swallows you until that’s all that is visible. Darkness, evil, and death reign in the lives of countless people, blocking out hope, light and purity.

Yet when the big man upstairs saves the oldest Winchester son from the pit, and brings his father back to his body, no one knew why. And when an angel came to visit, Dean still did not believe that God, creator of Earth and the remainder of the universe wanted to save him. He believed there was a mistake. Who would want to save him? A flawed and imperfect man such as Dean could never find favor. But all whom are present are informed by the angel who tells them that the Lord almighty has declared the Winchesters and hunters like them as holy warriors of the new age… of the apocalypse.
