I came across some sides yesterday for the film, and have made a short summary of what I read, if you do not want to be spoiled then please do not read down.




*SPOILERS BELOW* (Thanks to AdoreKate for contributing to the sides)





Kate is playing the character of Sandra Anderson. Sandra is married to a guy named Howard (don't know who is gonna be played by) and they have a 16 year old daughter Audrey (Willa Holland). Audrey is described in the sides as basically a rebellious, rude, sluttly dressed teenager, her parents are described as being a conservatively dressed suburban couple. It seems like the family was on some sort of a road trip and ended up at the diner (where the following exchange takes place). Audrey is dancing by the jukebox in a short mini skirt which leaves nothing to the imagination, as her parents look on, Sandra wonders how she can go out in public dressed like that, because it is disgusting, Howard says that he will ask Audrey about the way she is dressed, Sandra begs him not to because she says it will embarrass her, but Howard shouts across the diner anyway, telling Audrey that her mother was wondering if she got dressed this morning with the specific intention of showing her ass off to the entire world. Audrey gives one rude answer, she says; "Yeah, cuz I woke up this morning hoping to get double teamed by a couple of meth head truckers in the bathroom of some desert shithole....good thing we stopped here", her answer causes Sandra to put her head in her hands, and remark that she knows that she is being punished for something, I am guessing because her daughter is so rude.

Then there is a jump in the sides (it goes to page 85 the above happened on like pages 10 and 11, I dunno how many pages a normal script has, but I am guessing that 85 may be fairly near the end) By this point Howard does not seem to be there anymore, he probably dies earlier on, Audrey is there though, it is basically one mass of drama, where Sandra thinks that they should just give the baby (aka Christ) to the demons, because then maybe they will let them go (they can't leave the diner, if they leave the diner they will die, says Michael (Paul Bettany). Charlie (Adrianne Palicki aka that girl from Friday Night Lights) tells Sandra to give the baby to her (I think she is the mother of the baby) but Sandra says no because she never wanted the baby in the first place and she inches closer and closer to the door, then in what can only be described as one over the top drama filled moment, the door to the diner bursts open and Sandra is momentairly blinded by this bright white light, and in that moment Michael takes the opportunity to shoot her in the head, Sandra falls backwards "blood dripping from the hole in her head" (I directly quoted that), the baby goes flying from her arms, Charlie screams, everything goes quiet and.....end of sides. DAMN.

So looks like Sandra dies, I got these sides from the same site that PrP and Grey's sides are released on, soooo I dunno if much has been changed between the audition and the actual shooting, but it does look like Kate's character may just die, which sucks! Also I have never summarized sides before, so sorry if it sucked. Oh and I have another scene for Audrey, it does not involve Sandra, but I can summarize it if you guys are interested.

Oooh! Sounds exciting! I can't wait :) It's also so awesome that Willa is playing Kate's daughter because I loved Willa from the OC!

Oooo, sounds good. Willa Holland's sorta playing the same kind of role as in the OC then, isn't she?
I hope Kate's good at 'dying', coz one thing that annoys me the most in movies is when people die 'fakely', if you know what I mean....

Sounds interesting if somewhat cliche ! Thanks Amanda. It wouldn't be the type of film I'd usually pay to see, but Kate films have their own rules !! I read somewhere that it was more a character-based film, than outright special effects/blood/gore, so I'm sure Kate will be given a chance to flex her acting skills :applaud:
