Xaras ran along, looking smug. She wasn't so much worried about him keeping up as she loved the feeling of the wind whipping her hair around as she ran against it. She ducked through the fence leading to the forest, and finally slowed down, hands jamming into her pockets as she let out a long breath.
"Ridiculous human."

‘If only I were human,’ thought Dwayne as he stepped out from behind a tree which she had passed on her way in, grinning at the fact she hadn’t so much as noticed him. He moved forward quietly but quickly and pulled her into another surprise hug. “You’re a pretty good runner…now, about that ‘talk?’” he said, making sure she wouldn’t escape from his hug this time by clasping his hands together.

Xaras' eyes bolted wide open as her cheeks turned crimson and she tensed. She moved to get away, but found herself firmly locked in place.
Silence answered him for well over a minute before she put the sentence together. "What are you?"

He grinned behind her and even chuckled a little. “What am I, eh?” he replied, resting his head on her shoulder for a moment. He would have winced for admitting this at any other time, though he wasn’t going to tell her everything yet of course. “I’m human, plain and simple,” Of course, this was merely part of the truth of what he was, but did she need to know that quiet yet? He pulled her a slight bit close to him, “…I wonder, did you not expect to be caught or something?”

Xaras tilted her head away from him, flattening. "Humans cant move like that."
It was fact, she knew it. There was no way in hell he could have gotten there faster then her if he had been. She pulled to get away from him. "I want an honest answer."

He knew very well humans couldn’t move like that, though he’d hoped somewhat she didn’t know that too. Apparently though, he’d been unlucky and she did know that no human could do that. He kept a strong grip on her easily, since letting go could mean she pretty much left without keeping her end of a bargain. “And why should I give you, a person with no true obligation to me, an honest answer right off the bat?”

"Because," Xaras paused, visibly conflicted, then she relaxed not struggling against his hold, "I might understand..."
she drifted off, then shook her head, pulling away from him again. "Let me go already." She wasn't about to cave in and admit to some stranger her own inner conflicts. That was just...
stupid.

“You might understand? ……prove it then, and I might be inclined to tell you the truth,” he replied, he wasn’t really one for sharing secrets, especially the one’s that made normal people run in fear. But hey, she was obviously not a normal person either; otherwise he wouldn’t be so damn determined to keep her still and against him like he was.

"Prove it how?" Xaras finally snapped, "By being even more of an unnatural freak then I already am?"
The girl scowled, and jerked hard against his grip now, "I said let go!"

Dwayne continued in his little state of calm, and noted that he actually half felt like faltering under her pulling away just then. He was still holding on pretty tightly though, cause he had no idea what she would do after being set free. “Promise not to run, I’ll let go and tell you what I am if it damned well interested you so much,” he replied, a little annoyed that he hadn’t gotten what he’d been promised. That was of course if he was going to be getting that anyway.

Xaras huffed, then stopped pulling, "I don't run away. I just don't like being pegged to one spot. So lemme go already."
She looked over her shoulder when he mentioned he'd explain, and somewhat relaxed. "I promise, I'll stay put."

“Good, as you’ve probably guessed you wouldn’t get far otherwise,” he said, reluctantly letting go of her and backing away a step. He sighed, and looked up into the trees above him, wondering why he was going to be so stupid and tell some girl what he was. Dwayne looked above for another second, and then turned his attention back to her. “I’m a heartless, good enough for ya?”

She was silent, thinking. Heartless?
Xaras motioned at him to follow her back to the mansion. Perhaps this was going to be a longer conversation then she thought. "Whats that?"

Followed her as he was motioned on, somewhat confused as to the fact she didn’t know what a heartless was already. He tried his best to describe what they basically where as they walked, at least going on what he was, and hoped that she had encountered at least one of them before to make explaining this a hell load easier on him. And maybe on her too, if he wasn’t that good as describing stuff.

Xaras didn't know what to say, even after she had led him into the mansion. It was still in a horribly dilapidated state, showing wear and tear. With a long sigh, she sat on the stairs, "...how do you ..know your one?"
