She had seen others up here before. Children resting on top of the clock tower as they ate sea salt popcicles and laughed about their trivial every day matters. The young woman herself, leaned up against the clock and sipped at a soda she had managed to purchase.
Did anyone else feel this?
Watching the people walking around below her, she doubted it. They all seemed perfectly content to run around daily chores, babble endlessly to their neighbors, and act overall... oblivious.
It was actually rather annoying. Why was she the only one who seemed to have this stirring inside her soul? She could ...feel... something calling to her. And it was driving her insane.
Another time she lifted the soda can to her lips, but she didn't drink, instead stopping to stare out over the horizon. Several seconds in this thoughtfull silence passed before she sighed, closing her eyes, and took a drink.
Right. As if life had some bigger purpose.
It was enough to make her chuckle into her soda can.

Another day overlooking the town’s activities. Sighing mentally as he shifted about on the very roof of the clock tower, Dwayne wondered why they hadn’t just sent an entire brigade of heartless here and had the world done with already. Judging by the populace and their general banter and activities, they wouldn’t even need a dozen heartless to take the area out within a few days. He stood in his impatience and paced the small roof of the tower, looking down at all the people within eyesight and frowning at them as he detested them and all of their normalities.
He stopped as he overlooked what seemed to be the largest concentration of the residents of the town, thinking for a moment at the amount of lives there were in the town ‘…Maybe I should start the towns destruction then….” He thought, turning so he was facing the concentration before summoning three heartless with a thought. He melded their forms into copies of his own and smirked at the likeness, though also remembered full well that they were completely black with yellow eyes, so there wouldn’t be too much in the way of hiding with these three specimens.
He stopped studying to look down again, noticing the girl this time that was sat someway beneath him on one of the towers ledges. He smirked and motioned for the three heartless besides him to move forward a bit so they could identify her too. “Leave her alive, and you can have all the hearts in this town,” he offered, and was happy to see that they at least understood the offer. They all turned into shadows and travelled down the tower quickly, leaving Dwayne at the top to his thoughts. “Now, to see who she is…” he whispered before making his way down the tower side.

It stirred again. That feeling inside her gut. It made her frown and she suppressed the feeling to rush away from the tower. She restrained herself. What kind of coward ran from an upset stomach.
She sipped her drink still, silently watching the horizon.
She hadn't seen the heartless wandering away.
Not like she would have known what they were anyways.

Having finally reached the ledge she was sat on as far as he knew, he looked again and smiled at the fact she was still their. ‘She didn’t notice the heartless at least…” he thought as he advanced on her, being careful to be fairly quiet as he went along the ledge. He stopped a few feet from her, apparently having gone unnoticed cause of her fascination with the horizon. He cleared his throat loudly in a hopes to get her attention, and shifted from one foot to the other.
All the while this was happening, the heartless were moving about in the shadows of the town below, looking for the most succulent of their prey of which they would dine on first. They would continue from then on course, though before the day was through a lot of this town would be turned if no one would stop them now.

Xaras didn't move. She was comfortable after all. Instead, she shifted her gaze to glance to the side, barely catching a glance of the individual near her. The sensation inside her was worse.
Was this person causing it?
"...Can I help you?"

Dwayne grinned again and moved over to sit next to Xaras, sighing for a second and swinging his legs a little before looking at her. “Not really, just wondering at my luck today for coming to town.” He shifted about and crossed one leg over the other, looking out over the horizon she’d been interested in before. He half wondered what was taking the heartless, seeing as it shouldn’t be taking them this long to find targets…..

"Luck?" she questioned, one dark eyebrow perking slightly. This guy was...awfully casual, for someone she didn't even know. Then again, humans were strange things.
She inwardly made a face at herself. Ha. Like she was different from them? Drinking, bar fights, random encounters. The thought made her smile, just a little. Whatever. Entertain the guy, find out what his gig was.
No harm in that

“Yeah, not everyday I come across a fine looking lady,” he answered, not diverting his gaze from the horizon for now. He could assume she wasn’t quiet human from the feel of her, though wouldn’t deposit that option just yet. Whatever she was….she was definitely more interesting then his boring heartless or the people of the town, some of whom where probably finally dying somewhere. He looked across to her now and smiled, hoping that he still had that touch he once knew he had with the women. And if he didn’t…..he’d have to think a little on that.

Her gaze was turned full on to her new companion, and her eyebrow arched. He was...hitting on her? Her flattened expression turned into a smile, and then turned into giggles. Followed shortly by outright laughter.
She covered her face after several moments, and snorted again. "Cheesy much?"

Dwayne repressed laughing himself, though only because she actually found what he’d said to be funny for some reason. He waited till her laughing had subsided before shrugging at her question. “I call them as I see them, you can’t exactly blame me for that” he replied, leaning back so he was resting on his elbows comfortably. Man some people would laugh at random stuff…

"Well," Xaras shrugged, "I don't get hit -on- often. Hit. Yes. Flirted with. No. Not so much..."
She grinned, at him, now eyeing the guy. He wasn't half bad on the eyes, but she still couldn't get that unnerving feeling out of her stomach. What was with him?

Noticed that she had finally taken an interest in him and smiled inwardly. At least he still had something of a knack for getting peoples attentions. He was a little curious about why she wasn’t usually flirted with, though pushed the extreme importance of it aside. “Can’t see why, you don’t exactly look bad….er, what’s your name anyway?” he asked, tryign not to mess up his first encounter with her straight away.

"I'm Xaras. And I'm a selfish, theiving, ....bitch" She grinned at him. Might as well be straight forward right? She turned to face him, folding one leg under her, chosing to be comfortable with the situation.
"Good looks only carry you so far in one town. People start to recognize their missing things on your familiar body."

And that was probably why he was interested in the first place. Dwayne had always referred to himself as a bastard, and he’d done enough thieving in his time to know what she was talking about too. He turned as well, folding his legs and leaning back a little again. “Depends how good you are at the trade I guess,” he replied as he turned back to look over the towns people. Still all alive damn it, what were his heartless clones doing out there?

She watched his gaze, and tilted her head. "Waiting for something?"
