Stillness alarming

He shook his head and looked back up at her, smiling like nothing was wrong at all. “Nah, just curious as to the people of the town sometimes, they seem like a….happy bunch at any rate,” he said, somewhat annoyed that he’d actually had to come up with a lie like that. Even if he was almost perfect at lying, it still pissed him off that he had to actually show an interest in these humans just to remain undiscovered.

The eyebrow perked again. Right. She looked to the city, and sighed. "The kids are alright. Entertaining anyway. But ..."

Xaras sighed, "I prefer the forest. I like the quiet."

Dwayne knew why she would prefer the quiet over this town. Heck, even he preferred the forest to the town, though he wasn’t as much a people person as he probably should be. At least, unless the person interested him in some way, then he always did try to at least make a decent impression. Can’t get information from an enemy too quickly, neh? “The forest is a nice place, though I always did prefer a little company.”

[Xaras]

.....she contemplated him. Then smirked. "Sometimes companies nice. Once, in a rare while."

She pushed her bangs out of her eyes, "Gives you something to think about. Or. Sometimes, helps you think about nothing at all."

“A rare while? I would personally enjoy company like you whenever I possibly could.” He grinned and shifted a little to get a slight more comfortable again, enjoying the word play and underlying message from it. “Do you prefer the latter Xaras?” he asked with a slight smile, he really was getting somewhere with her it seemed.

[Xaras]

She smirks, then turns away, standing to her feet, "Depends on the company I guess."

Xaras was amused, to say the least. At least he could keep up with her. It still bothered her though, what was he that he made her stomach knot up like that?

He grinned, standing up quietly behind her and contemplating his next action. Figuring that he had already gotten onto a sort of safe grounding as they’d finished talking, and mostly because he knew that he wouldn’t have any sort of worthwhile resistance from her he moved closer to her and hugged her from behind. He leaned in slightly to whisper into her ear, “Am I good enough company then?”

Xaras' fist flicked closed, then hung open. She was still smiling. "My, aren't we a bold creature...."

She pulled out of his grasp, and looked down at the ground below them, an idea forming in her mind. "I'll make you a deal, whatever your name is. Catch me before I get to the mansion, and we'll talk."

The white haired girl, fell then. Smirking as smacked her feet into the wall.

Free running, she propelled herself onto a rooftop, and looked up at him, with a salute before she took off.

This, she reminded herself, is why she separated herself from humans. How many could do-that-?

He chuckled to himself at her boldness and challenge, walking backwards slowly as a small portal appeared behind him to take him to where he wanted to be. “I’ll see you their then Xaras,” he said before stepping through it, using it to find the area of which would probably be best to catch her, at least without her realizing he has teleported it like this. The forest just before the mansion, where she wouldn’t have gotten to in time to see him appear. It was perfect for concealment, and he chuckled once more at the prospect of their ‘talk’ when he caught her.
