Sheba slowed to a trot as she steped onto the new path. The slowing continued until she had stopped. She scanned the area and it was mostly the same scen as the path she had just come from. Except further down she saw a large fork in the road, she immediataly headed towards it at a steady pace. She reached it and looked down the sides... both directions appeared to lead to a place that looked the same. She sat down for a rest as she thought of which way to go. The first problem was clearing the crevase that blocked her path. It actually wasn't going to be much of a problem, it was working up the energy to do so.
Ten minutes passed and she had made her decision. She stood and backed up a bit, giving herself room to maneuver and make the leap. She was now about fifteen feet and started a run. Right at the edge she jumped and extended her legs as far as they would allow her to do so. The thought of what would happen if she didn't make it crossed Sheba's mind, but as soon as it came she pushed it away. I don't need to be thinking like that. She landed and suddenly realized that she hadn't been breathing through the leap. She took a deep breath and calmed her nerves before walking foward. She veered off to the right side of the fork and picked up the pace into the new lands. She trotted onward, wondering if there where others there. She was headed towards DamMian, she didn't know it yet though. |
