You need to register seperately to use the gallery which is a simple process so I'll assume you've already sucessfully created a user id.

Before uploading any images you need to:

create an album
Select 'Create/Order My albums'
Select 'new'
Change the name of the album using the text box if required
Select 'ok'

Owing to site limitations, images MUST be no larger than 1600 pixels x1600 pixels prior to uploading. See below for info on how to resize images.

uploading image(s)
Select 'upload file'
Use the browse boxes to browse for local files stored on your computer.
Use the URI/URL boxes to obtain an image from a web address. e.g. if you use a photo hosting site such as flickr or photbucket you can paste the url to your image here.

Hit 'continue' (Once only)
This will take some time depending on the size and resolution of your image so be patient.

Continue general feeling of patience

If all went well you should recieve a 'uploads were successful.' message.
Hit 'Continue'
Select an album to place the image in and enter any relevant info.
Keywords should be short, consice and relate to the image e.g. baneblade, imperial guard, etc Or you can use the 'insert from list' option to use existing keywords.
Hit 'Continue' and repeat the process for any other images you uploaded.
If all went well you should see a 'You have successfully placed all the files.'

Well done!

Things to bare in mind:
The max file size must not exceed 2048kb (2 megabytes)
Either of the image dimensions must not exceed 1600.
In either case the upload will fail.
You can check both resolution and file size in Windows XP by right clicking your image file, selecting properties.

If you need to resize the image(s) as a result pix resizer is a useful little program which can resize multiple images.

If anyone requires any further help just reply to this topic.

Nobody mentioned there were space quotas on the gallery!
Apparently, I have fallen foul of a disk quota when trying to upload pictures of a dreadnought conversion to the gallery.
The error said that if I uploaded the files, I would use 1,147KB of space, which would take me above a quota of 1,024KB. Therefore, it denied the file upload.
The files were less than 2,048KB in size (maybe 500-600KB in total) and no dimensions were anywhere near 1,600 pixels.
I did not see any mention of any quotas in the FAQ (I did look - couldn't find anything)
Has anyone else had that problem?

Fixed.

I was messing about with the gallery settings this morning and some how imposed a 1Mb quota on all users. It's been lifted now. Apologies.
