I've said it before and i'll no doubt say it again.

Always go with whichever army you think is "coolest". That way you are far less likely to get tired of them and you'll also get much more enjoyment out of collecting/using them.

Having said that my favourite out of the three is Tomb Kings. Though i hear rumours that the new Tomb King army book (and accompanying new models) aren't too far away...

I agree with D-Monster go with what you really like the look of.

For a more in depth answer:

Dwarves - Want warmachines? High Leadership? Tough doughy troops? Pick Dwarves
No magic but high defense.

Empire - Jack of all trades can be wizard heavy, wizard lite, Warrior priests and calvary or Warmachines. The choices are endless. Good at all phases and good for learning the game but excel at none of the areas.

Tomb Kings - May or may not get a book in the near future (Read late 2010/2011) Simple to paint. Reliable magic, shooting and will not break. Not as competetive as Empire but fun to play.

So what are you looking for Chris? I will happily teach you the rules and play small games with you as your army grows.

i am starting to edge towards the empire and dwarves because they have very nice models to paint. I still like the tomb kings but the thing that puts them of me it the painting. i like spending hours painting a model to it looks good in the battle and thats whats drawing me away from the yomb kings.

From my experience the mighty Empire. smile.gif

The reasons being you have lots of tactical choice in troops, lots of diffrent things to paint and the most important thing is that you can take on any army in the fantasy game including the new super heavy army books.

I just sold my Dwarfs as they are a boring army to play after a while, Much prefer the flexibility of my Empire army.

Might even use it in our up coming Tournament instead of my Dark Elves or Lizards.

I've not used them in a while wink.gif

So I'd go Empire but it's a personal decision as you're the one who'll be painting them biggrin.gif

i have decided to go for empire i got the army book from Taylor for a very genorous £4:80, thanks for that Taylor saves me a few bob for bying the empire gereral. ( the proper price i was going to pay was £5 but i was twenty pence short)
once i have gotten the general i am either going to save up for the battalion or get the warrior priest (they are ausome) then save up for the battalion.
