Please post some of your favourite books here. I am always searching for new titles, especially series and would love to hear from some of you which books you have read to share with the whole forum.

One good series is The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathon Stroud:
- Amulet of Samarkand
- Golem's Eye
- Ptolemy's Gate

Another good series is the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, whose first book has recently been made into a movie:
- Stormbreaker
- Point Blanc
- Skeleton Key
- Eagle Strike
- Scorpia
- Ark Angel
- soon to come ... Snakehead

Another series of books by Anthony Horowitz is the Power of Five series, which is not finished as yet, but so far has:
- Raven's Gate
- Evil Star
- soon to come ... Nightrise

I won't bore you with how many different series I know and love, but will leave you with these and space to put some of your own.

I know, the Power of Five series are just great. *stares at the screen mindlessly, drooling*. I can't wait for the next one to come out, but it doesn't come until April, and that's in England, let alone Australia.

The Bartimaeus Trilogy was awesome. I also like the Minotaur wars Trilogy, Artemis Foul series, The Mists of Avalon by Mariom Zimmer Bradley, and Eragon and Eldest.

I've never heard of the Mintaur Wars Trilogyor the Mists of Avalon, what are they about?
The Artemis Fowl series is fantastic:
- Artemis Fowl
- AT: Arctic Incident
- AT: The Eternity Code
- AT: The Opal Deception
- and new on shelves ... AT: The Lost Colony
I just finished reading the new one and am now currently decoding it - does anyone else do this or do they just read it on the net? I had to do that for the Eternity Code one, I couldn't be bothered decoding the whole thing, part of it was guesswork even with the code sitting in front of you.
Did you know that Eragon is coming out in the cinemas in middle December. I can't wait to see it, and I hope it does the book justice, unlike the last HP movie, which cut out so many of the good parts.

The Opal Deception? Bloody hell. I didn't even know it existed. Plus, I've forgotten what happens in the others. Better read them again. And what did you mean by "decoding it"? w00t! April! Wait... damn it. It seemed a shorter amount of time when I was doing a crazy jug around the room. laugh.gif

I doubt the Eragon movie will be that good. I've never seen a film which does a book justice, mainly because of the script writer. angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif Steven Kloves! I'll kill you for screwing up Harry Potter! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif I love Harry Potter and you messed it up for the world. For example, in the battle at the end of GoF, Steven Kloves proved he was colourblind. The connected beam and the shield were supposed to be gold. The beams were red and green, and the shield was see through. I'm going to write a load of ways the Harry Potter movies suck. Although, hopefully, Steven Kloves might not write the other scripts. I'm hoping that he gets sued. The Death Eaters hit a little too close to the Ku Klux Klan. Please, someone sue him and chuck him in Azkaban! laugh.gif My bet is that they won't show Sirius at all in the movie, apart from a five second scene where he dies. That seems like Kloves' style.

I love the Sabriel series by Garth Nix. I also love the... I can't remember the series name, but it has something to do with a load of keys and Sir Thursday and Grim Tuesday etc.

I'm rather angry about the paperback version of Eldest. I've been waiting for months for it to come out so that I can read the first chapter of the third book (Eragon did that for the second book). Guess what? Nothing had changed. At all.

I know, the HP movies kind of sucked. On answers.com, there is a whole four pages dedicated to the differences between the books and the movies. On GoF and PoA, the pages are so freaking long. It's ridiculous. When I saw the PoA movie, the whole time I was muttering that Dementors can't fly! That was so stupid and frustrating! Because the fifth HP is so long, I can't imagine how much they'll cut out of that one. They probably won't leave anything left at all.

In the Artemis Fowl books, at the bottom of each page, there are strange symbols, which are codes. I love codes and decode every one of them as soon as I finish the story.

I really want to read that series by Garth Nix that was mentioned, but our library at school and the public one don't have the first book, so I don't know what I'll do.
The Keys to the Kingdom series is pretty good isn't it:
- Mister Monday
- Grim Tuesday
- Lady Wednesday
- Sir Thursday
They take ages to come out, but they're still alright.

What do you mean by 'nothing has changed at all'? Do you mean that they didn't put the chapter in it or what?
Have you read the first chapter of Nightrise yet? It's on www.anthonyhorowitz.com/mxboard but you've got to find it. It's really good, but just made me want to read the book even more. They really hauled the people in with that.
