Missus Ginevra Gray;
May your tears come from laughing you find friends worth having
As every year passes, they mean more than gold
May you win and stay humble, smile more than grumble
And know when you stumble
You're never alone.

WE'RE WALKING IN THE AIR
Nothing will ever hold us down.
◊THE CHARACTER◊

FULL NAME: Ginevra Gray (nee Addams)
    NICK NAME: Ginny, Gigi
    AGE: 28
    BIRTHDAY: September 8th
    GENDER: Female
    SPECIES: Mystic
    RACE: Human
    BIRTHPLACE: Namb Plateau
    OCCUPATION: Barmaid
    LOCATION: City of Aster
    MARITAL STATUS: Widowed
    SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
    CANON OR ORIGINAL: Original

◊WEAKNESSES◊

Ginny has a few weaknesses. To begin, physically she is a little overweight. While she is healthy, she does know how to cook a good meal and definitely enjoys eating it. She is often physically tired, and sleep deprived. On occasion her vision slips a little due to this. She definitely feels older than she is, being a single mother of two. However; she understands this and is not necessarily ashamed of these being some of her weaknesses.

Emotionally, Ginny has some issues. She was never really given an opportunity to mourn the loss of her husband. She can get flustered easily as she takes on too much work. She can get upset easily at the memory of her husband. She is also quite prideful, despite having very little, and has a smart mouth that often earns her a bit of trouble. She does not like having her emotional instability called out, but it is often not noticed because she internalizes it.

One of Ginny's biggest flaws is that she is a people-pleaser. She hates to see a customer walk away unsatisfied and will go to crazy measures to ensure people are happy, even if it is degrading or self-harmful. She wants what is best for everyone else, often to the point of it being a bad thing for herself.

She is not a strong reader, and hates to admit that. Her education is rather lacking, and mostly is just what her own mother taught her. However, what she does know she is happy with, and what she doesn't know she is willing to learn or work around. She does not like to ask for help.

We're Riding in the Midnight Blue.
◊STRENGTHS◊

Ginny is very loving and caring. She finds compassion for all people, and there is always a spot at her table for a weary traveler (even if that means that four people split three buns). She would happily sleep on the floor if someone else was in need of her bed. As well, Ginny is clever. She has exceptional mathematical talents.

From working, physically she is quite strong, especially for a human woman. She is also unafraid of the types of things some women can be. Externally she's good at remaining calm, even if she's frightened inside. Physically she also looks her age, even if she feels older than she is.

Ginny is a wonderful mother, and she manages to always feed her kids a tasty meal, even if it means that she goes without. She would do anything for her kids, and has a bit of a mother's instinct when it comes to other people.

◊PHYSICAL APPEARANCE◊
    PLAY BY: Johanna Dray
    EYE COLOR: Brown
    HAIR COLOR: Brown
    HEIGHT: 5'5.5"
    WEIGHT: 173 lbs.
    OVERALL APPEARANCE:

Ginny is always seemingly glowing and smiling in front of customers unless something is wrong with her children. She is a well-known plump and jolly barmaid, who is always there to help brighten someone's day with a kind smile. Overall, she looks happy and healthy, if a little chubby.

She has thick brown hair that falls in curls to her shoulders, and dark brown eyes. Her cheeks have a natural pink colour, and her skin is naturally pale. She has full lips, that are a rose color. Her figure is quite curvy, but balanced on top and on bottom. Despite her chubby appearance, she is quite muscular.

As far as clothing goes, Ginevra does not have a lot of money and keeps herself and her family dressed as well as she can manage. While she owns a single dress, her chemises and skirts are always well maintained, despite their deterioriating quality. As far as colours go, she is normally in neutrals, in a bar environment wearing anything bright is a no-no.

◊PERSONALITY◊
    PERSONALITY:

By others, Ginevra is viewed as a kind soul. She always goes out of her way for others, and believes in karma. So if ever you need a meal, she'll be happy to provide what she can. She maintains a cheery disposition around others, and is excellent at finding the silver lining in most situations. She is very affectionate and motherly. She tries her hardest to make sure that everyone else is happy before herself, even if she has to go to extremes to do it. However; she'd never put her loved ones out to do so. She is always there to lend an ear for a young woman in tears, or an angry man discussing politics.

Working in a pub, Ginny is up-to-date on a lot of political matters. She is very open minded, and enjoys hearing things from other's perspectives. In fact, she likely knows a lot she shouldn't, but knows to keep her mouth shut. When it comes to minor gossip, however, Ginny is terrible at keeping her thoughts to herself. She's quick to tell a story she heard, provided she knows it won't be particularly damaging to anyone. She's more likely to slip up on this when she's tired.

Ginny was never given a chance to mourn the loss of her husband, and can be occasionally emotionally tipsy. She tries to keep such a strong front for everyone else in hard times that she lets her own emotions bottle up. So sometimes she can be a bit unstable, especially when she becomes sleep deprived. It can be quite a shock for someone how quickly she can switch up her emotions. In fact, something very simple can put her into tears. And afterwards, she'll often feel quite guilty.

Ginny has a habit of holding her tongue, but also holding onto things that annoy her. In an argument, if aggravated, she will bring up little mistakes from weeks, even months ago. She is not one to hold a grudge, but when it comes to her being angry she can be quite vicious and knows what to say to push a person's buttons. She'll feel sorry afterwards, but in the moment, she doesn't really care.

She also has difficulty saying 'no', unless it relates to her family's well being. This makes her easy to manipulate. Shoot her some puppy dog eyes and she is putty in your hand. Bring her family into it, and she'd jump off a cliff if you convinced her it was better for her children. She can be very gulliable when it comes to loved ones and their safety. In contrast, though, when her mind is set she's particularly stubborn.

When it comes to other people, Ginevra Gray believes in equality whether it is skin colour, race, species, gender or age. She is frustrated by baby voices, and people who speak slower to the elderly. She treats everyone with respect, even if she dislikes them. She's honest, for the most part, and will not hesitate to give her opinion if asked. Ginny doesn't often think a lot about herself, she prefers not to be introspective, and doesn't like anyone paying her a lot of attention either. She'd rather go unnoticed for the most part, it means she's less busy.

    BIOGRAPHY:

Ginevra was born on a small farm. Her parents, Harriet and David Addams raised chickens as well as caring for several horses. She was the youngest of her sisters, having three, Eliza, Margaret and Lydia. Eliza and Margeret were the next youngest and were twins. Lydia was only a year older than the twins (or 10 months, as they never hesitated to point out). Her parents desperately wanted a son, and tried once, but it was a miscarriage. However, Margaret found an interest in farming. Which was good, because it wasn't quite Ginny's forte.

Ginny and her sisters got along together. Her sisters didn't necessarily get along amongst themselves, but they got along with Ginny. She really looked up to her parents, they were hardworking folks. Her father taught her what he knew about bookkeeping and found that Ginevra of all his daughter's had the best mind for it.

Her mother educated her, as best she could afford. She'd come from a line of rather rich humans, but had been disowned upon marrying a farmer. So she'd been sent to a preparatory school in a far-off land for many of her years as a youth.

Ginny was in the market one day when she met her husband. He smiled at her and she fell for him hard. He used to come and visit her stall, and buy up all of her eggs. Then one day, he came to inquire about a horse, only, he didn't actually care about the horse. He went home with one though, and the announcement he was engaged.

He died while Ginny was pregnant with the youngest of her two children. His brother took them in, allowing them to live in one of the apartments above his pub, and offering Ginny employment. He paid her while she took care of her newborn, and is still in debt to him. He tried to insist that she needn't pay him back, but his arguments stopped when he became ill and she now had to tend to him as well as her two children. Partially because she was paying him back through tending to him, and partially because his mental state was deteriorating.

Recently, Ginny's been pestered to bring her brother-in-law out. A few people have shown interest in 'buying the pub'. Ginevra believes that they are onto her brother-in-law's worsening condition. But if she loses the pub, which now she is running single-handedly, she loses everything because she has herself and three dependents being supported on it's (scarce) profits.

◊ROLEPLAY SAMPLE ◊

    SAMPLE POST:

Ginny's eyes narrowed when she opened the door. A dreary gray day had not put her in the best mood. The occasional downpour had caused her brother-in-law's pub to remain full most of the day, and her children hadn't been able to play outdoors. Worn out, she was not prepared to deal with this man, not this late at night. Her children had finally fallen asleep and she'd given her brother-in-law his medication, and the pub was finally empty and locked up.

"Ginevra, how nice to see you." His voice grated on her and she turned, knowing he'd invite himself in. The gray suited man did just that, seating himself at her small kitchen table. "Is Grayson available?" Ginny's face grew dark and she shot him a look. "I'll take that as a no."

"Sir, my brother-in-law has finally settled down for the evening. He's been busy all day with tax-work." Truth be told, Grayson was incredibly ill and not all there mentally. But if anyone knew, the pub would be taken. She just barely ran it herself, and it made it especially tricky when people like this man came to call on him. Most people would not appreciate a human woman running a business in these times, and most people didn't approve of a human running it at all. So Grayson, a magician, would not be revealed to be sick if she could help it.

"I'd like to make an offer on the pub-"

Ginny started in right there. "There is no interest in selling the pub. This is how he makes his living, and how me and my own family make ends meet. Sir, whether you offer ten times, or a hundred, I will not sell." She folded her arms across her chest, a curl of brown hair falling out of her bun as if even her hair was begging to be done for that day.

"What do you mean 'I will not sell'? Is this not your brother's establishment?" The man cracked a crooked smile and Ginny's heart faltered. She had made a critical error. "Madam, if has caught-"

"Grayson is well, I assure you." She moved to the door, and opened it as the sky cleared up. "You best be on your way before the rain comes again." She grinned at him falsely and stood out of the way so he could pass.

    "I'll be back again."
    "I don't doubt it."

Closing the heavy wooden door, and sliding the lock into place Ginevra sighed loudly. She began pulling the pins out of her hair, and placing them neatly on the table. Her brown curls fell to her shoulders and she rested her head in her arms as she sat at the table. They were barely making it by. Ginny didn't want to be forced to work as a servant in a household of some creature who thought him or herself better than her- she wanted her children to have pride in their human nature. So the pub was her only option. And with her brother-in-law fading fast, she didn't know how long that would last.
