Zeta Boards, IF Upgrade

FYI, InvisionFree has added a new board service (well, it's been around a few months, I just hadn't bothered looking at it) and I was thinking of seeing what it would take to covert IR over to this set up. They have conversions from the IF format to the new Zeta Boards. I already put in for the testing forum to be converted to see how it goes, make sure all the bells and whistles convert before I have IR converted to it.

Some of the upsides to the new ZB format is that we can have our own avatar gallery and even the base galleries are far expanded from what's on here. You can also choose your skin from the base ZB to any of the custom ones we would want. There are 'shoutboxes', enhancements to PM's and notifications and expanded Admin and Moderator controls.

The downside is, even though I registered a board there to start playing with it and see what it's like, I am totally learning a new CSS format. This could take a bit to learn and I don't want to move IR to it if it's totally half-assed. I want to have things in place so that the moment it would be converted I could make sure that all the fun stuff is ready to go. It should convert everything else, just not the CSS.

I'll keep everyone updated and link to the other board once I get a handle on what I'm doing and see if you all like it.

This is simply a test site. As I said, I put in for my Invision testing site to be converted to see how it does. So far it has not been converted and I have no ETA on when it may be done.

Looks very nice! I hope you don't mind, I made an account to nose around some. The only thing is that the topic field shows up bright white and the link is such a light blue that I can hardly read it. I don't know if this is my browser tho, I'm using Firefox.

'Fox is all I ever use. I know, there's things in the CSS I haven't gotten to yet to determine what the frell it is I'm doing. I still haven't finished it as I haven't had the time online to mess with it a while.

Upgrading you so you can see what all I see. This skinning on there is very interesting, not nearly as simplistic as the IF coding.

Thanks for the upgrade. I nosed around a bit and d@mn, that's a huge ton of CSS to go through! Should be fun to play with though :)

Says the lady that knows what she's doing. I'm having to go line by line and then search the entire site to see what it is I just affected. :P

The thing I absolutely love about the Zeta Boards though is that we can create and upload our own avatars, not be bound by the ones that come pre-programmed like we've had in IF.

Still working, when I can, on skinning it. They did finally update my actual test site (months later), and it converted without any loss of info other than the skin. If I could get that situated, I would. Last line of that CSS that I changed I made the line a bright orange and then couldn't find anywhere on the freaking site what I had affected. :P
