The U.S. Moves Up Seven Spots in Latest FIFA Rankings
The Americans are ranked 21st in the world, according to FIFA.

Buoyed by their 3-0 victory over Poland in Krakow last month, The U.S. National Team moved up seven spots to No. 21 in April’s FIFA World Rankings, which were released on Wednesday. It’s the highest the Americans have been ranked since coming in at No. 20 back in December.

The U.S. is ranked behind only Mexico (No. 16) among all CONCACAF sides.

While Argentina remains at the top of the rankings, the rest of the top seven places are unchanged as well, as Brazil, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic and France round out the top of the list. There’s a bit of a surprise at No. 8, as Greece checks in behind the usual heavyweights, scoring their highest ever ranking by FIFA. The Greece side was catapulted up the chart two slots after defeating Portugal (No. 9) in a friendly last month.

Other movers include Israel (No. 20), Moldova (No. 37) and Nigeria (No. 39).

Ghana (No. 14) remained Africa's highest-ranked team.
