One thing I've often wondered. Does people have to declare and pay tax on sales they make this way?

You don't have to declare earning through Amazon, Ebay, car boot sales etc as long as you are selling on a casual basis and not as a proper business. I think the distinction is between selling items that you already own (such as second-hand books, clothes and the like) and buying stock for the purpose of selling it. The first is classed as casual, the second isn't. I only do casual selling, as I don't think I could get my head round self-assessed tax returns and the like! :blonde:
