The banana reminds me of STOGIE, a robot cigar from Mexico who is one of the assistants of SAM SLADE, the famous robo-hunter from 2000AD.

Sam's job was to hunt down and neutralise rogue robots: in a story some years back he encountered a Robot Religious War, complete with a Robot Bishop and a Robot Rabbi.
