Title: Good doc

There was an excellent doc. on the History channel about this. I could not find a good clip on youtube so I posted this instead. Try to catch a repeat of the show. It was so good. There was a lot of science behind it. They even used a person to re-enact a crucifixion(withou nails of course). Within five minutes the guy was in some pain. He was sweating and shaking. He could only take it for 15 minutes before he asked to be taken down. I knew the Crucifixion was terribly painful but that doc shows that it was painful beyond anything I ever imagined. Try to catch the show if you can.

History Channel!

They're horrible! Nothing but neocon, zionist propaganda and espousal of Da Vinci Code and Freemasonry as well as Ancient Astronaut theory.

I agree. They are openly antiCatholic. However, from a medical standpoint it was a good doc. I learned a lot.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and Love flow mingled down,
Did e'r such Love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown.

Beautiful. I guess having been raised Catholic I had become complacent with the Crucifixion. I see it all the time. I mean, I know that it was a horribly painful way to Die but I did not have such an appreciation as I should have had. The doc on the history channle really broke it down for me. THe length of the thorns on the Crown. How that alone could have killed Him. His raw Back chauffing the rough wood as He pushed up to breath and slouched down again to rest. The nerve that is right where the nail impaled Him in the Wrists. The fact that His LEgs were writhing in pain from all the stress of HIs Weight.
You should have seen to strong kid they put on the cross, sans nails. Sweat was puring off his face after just a few minutes. His legs were shaking to hold himself up. I have such a greater appreciation for the pain. I am so embarrassed to not have realized this before. DOn't get me wrong, I knew that it was bad. But I did not realize that every Inch of Him was in complete Agony. Well beyod what we can realize.
I remember after we saw The Passion, we all we shocked. When you see a Crucifix there is like a single drop of Blood on His and one His Side. Obviously this was before I came back to the Church, but I guess I have still not meditated enough on His Passion. Yes, I am a jerk.
