A guy posted this scan of a magazine from the late 1970s/early 80s on another forum I frequent, and I have to say that it is scarey just how accurate the author's predictions are. Pretty much everything predicted in that article has come to pass. The adventure game is pretty much any RPG made in the last 15 years, the TV game is pretty much the Total War series, or, in a broader sense, every RTS ever made, and the sports game describes every sports game from the 128 bit generation onwards. Contrary to most "by the year 2000" claims from the era, they even got wi-fi correct. Hell, the wi-fi description is like an explanation of the DS's multiplayer.

It makes me wonder what predictions we make as to the technology of the future will be accurate, and which will be ridiculed.

Yeah, I was reading that awhile back. They really did make some good predictions.

Yeah, I picked up some vintage science magazines, and god, those were way off. They said that'd we'd be able to clone pteranodons in 10 years, and that we can expect colonies on the moon by the 80's. The mags were from the 80's and 60's respectfully.
