Title: Revival

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 01:17 AM (GMT)
Well, we have generated a bit of interest on the old elder scrolls forums. Even Maiq talked on the chat, so I think it is time we started another game right from a single cell. Anyone at all interested?

Seb (sjvan0) - August 15, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
Why not? Although, who would be host? You?

M'Aiq - August 15, 2008 02:52 AM (GMT)
:D

Well, I'd be happy to join, but since I didn't actually PLAY last time (I just looked on), I'll need an introduction.

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
Think of it as an elaborate and expansive multiple choice game. I could host... but Oath was good at this stuff I mean he seemed to have a good grasp of biology and stuff and was an excellent host... in that aspect.

I am not sure if I would be up to the task of it, do you think if we asked Oath he would come back Seb?

Snefru - August 15, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
I'm up for it, sounds really interesting.

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 06:07 PM (GMT)
If anyone knows people that would be interested. I don't mean a yea Ill check it out but a for sure interest and they would post in this topic please go and bring them here :P

Still not really sure if I want to host, I don't think I would be good at it I have no knowledge about biology damnit!!!

M'Aiq - August 15, 2008 07:13 PM (GMT)
How about making a discreet little post in CD?

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 07:21 PM (GMT)
Err I am not sure I want to risk it... the mods are strict. You mean a new topic or post in that spore thread?

M'Aiq - August 15, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)

I was thinking a new topic, but the one who does it will most likely be warned. Make a new account? :P

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
Moderators can see IP's so there is no hope with a new account unless on someones else computer. I could easily get my last warning removed... but then getting it back again would look shifty. It may perhaps just be something to consider. Oh maybe they will give us permission to host a game there or um look for people :P

Dunno, send a PM to someone nice, and include some begging puppy eyes. Who's the nicest moderator? Stomper?

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
See I only know Rat from my werewolf days so we have a connection however slight. :P

Well, PM him then? It's worth a shot.

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Sent him a message, I am preparing for da ban hammer :P
Nah he will probably just say no.

Hmm, there must be a way to attract people... PM those who played last time, perhaps?

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
Err... I would rather get a new team. If they come back sure, but like I said new game new players :P

Well, ok then, PM random forum members :P

Gamgee - August 15, 2008 11:42 PM (GMT)
I asked Rat and he said it was a no go. Hmmm that would be kind of annoying but yea I guess lol :P

I suppose you could target the regulars...

(BTW, can you change the font colors here in the forums? Dark gray on black background isn't very easily readable)

OathinBlood - August 16, 2008 07:47 AM (GMT)
This is awesome. It was only a couple weeks ago when I felt some nostalgia for Genesis again, and wallah, a new game is born. I'm more than up for it, but I'm in Cambodia for the next two weeks...doesn't mean I can't do it, though. We'll see. I'm definitely up for it.

How many interested do we have?

:D

Only we who have posted in this topic, so far. We need to reach more people, somehow.

Gamgee - August 16, 2008 01:32 PM (GMT)
So far? A grand total of three and possibly a fourth guy who posted above but not since his first post :P Also it is good to see you, soon as I seen how much spore sucked compared to when it was announced and the barbaric "safety" measures I knew we needed a Genesis again. I will try to round up some more people now that I know we have a host even if it gets me a warning... :P

Edit
Okay I posted a little message in the spore topic on ES Forums, lets hope we get some people.

Acesolid - August 16, 2008 01:55 PM (GMT)
I'm realy interrested in playing in a new game. :D

But damn, it's been a while since I last played.

PS: I think the best way to resurect the game would be to somehow get it back on the elder scrolls forums.

Let's just ask every single moderator one after the other and say we wont cause any trouble untill one accepts, and if no moderator accepts... :ph43r: :flamed: >:)

Gamgee - August 16, 2008 02:06 PM (GMT)
I already tried Rat for just a recruitment POST and he said no... so naturally I went and did it when he was sleeping ;)

That's the spirit Gamgee! >:)

Gamgee - August 16, 2008 03:02 PM (GMT)
Asking Rat if we can host a game there, all we can do is pray that he says yes.

Gamgee - August 16, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
Semi Good news people, Rat is.... discussing... with the other moderators about letting us return from our exile!!! Now we can only hope we get a second chance!

That's great news, let's hope they will agree to let us bring Genesis back to life!

OathinBlood - August 17, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
Acesolid?! It's been a while.

Wow, I didn't even think we had a chance to be back on the ES forums, what with the strictness and all. I agree, that's the only way possible to have a constant stream of members both in and out, which is how to keep the game alive. I can start it with five, though.

Do you want to make another 'vanilla' game, or do you want to make it a bit more interesting? Hydrogen gas giant world, or maybe we'll evolve flora instead of fauna. Who knows, I'm up for anything.

Gamgee - August 17, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
Vanilla for now Oath, should we need to change I am sure we can find some obscure way of doing it ;)

I think it would be fun to play a game on a younger planet, with a lot of volcanic activity. Our cell could start underwater near an hydrothermal vent (where the whole ecosystem revolves around the chemicals comming from the vents rather then the sun). It would be cool since there could be a lot of weird creatures around.

But that's just a random idea, and I think playing a vanilla Genesis game could be equally fun, if not more.

Gamgee - August 17, 2008 02:43 AM (GMT)
Oooo how about a high gravity planet that is almost entirely rolling plains and desserts with just a little bit of forests. So it would be an incredibly arid planet, we would most likely have to adapt to storing water for long periods of time since there is so little of it.

OathinBlood - August 17, 2008 07:47 AM (GMT)
See, now we have the ball rolling. All good ideas...the heavy-gravity planet would be strange, though. I still like the idea of a gas giant where everything floats.

M'Aiq - August 17, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
Any news from the mods?

I think a volcano style planet would be awesome.

Gamgee - August 17, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
No news yet, if he doesn't respond tonight I will ask him if tomorrow if they reached a decision.

I don't want to be pushy as it might ruin our chance :P

It's kind of similar to what we had with the Xivai though, isn't it? The gas giant idea sounds interesting, although it doesn't really give much variety in biomes, does it? I like the high-gravity idea, though
