Names

Please register with a full name.

Please do not include middle names as it makes your characters names too long and makes everything look ugly.

Any names that turn up like the following: Hermioneisfir892 will be deleted as soon as we see them. The first part of the code is D, keep reading to find out the rest.

Thinking your character through

When applying with a new character please think them through. No Mary sue characters will be accepted on these boards. They will be declined immediately.

Each character is to have at least three weaknesses. This is because they are still human, even if they can do magic and thus will have weaknesses in their personality or in themselves in general. The second letter is I. Carry on reading.

Please remember this is role play and not real life. Make sure there is enough of a distinction between your home life and your character. By making the character too like yourself you will be lining yourself up for upsets. Its a lot easier to take it at face value if the character is not like you.

Remember: Your character can not do everything, period.

Your character and posts are your responsibility. As much as the administrators and moderators of the site will try and keep it tasteful there may be things that slip past is - feel free to PM us and let us know if there are any problems.

This works the other way too. If your character is out of line you are the one responsible for it and you are the one that will be punished. Period. The third letter is A.

The admins, mods and guidance


What The Admins/Mods says goes. No arguments. You may state your case but once the decision is made, that is it. Please do not try and play us off against one another. We have a forum that only we can see which we will talk about decisions in.

Hogwarts is a school full of teenagers. Teenagers experiment. Although we do not allow any actual scenes of sex, drug abuse or self harm on the boards you are allowed to hint at them. Graphic detail will not be tolerated. If you are going to add anything of this sort of nature into your posts then PLEASE let it be stated clearly in the topic title or description. The forth letter is R. Carry on reading for the rest of the code.

Posts

All RP posts must be in 3rd person. Unless the post is in a journal - then 1st person is allowed.

You are not allowed to power play. Period. You may cast a spell at your opponent but they have the right to decide whether it hits or not. You can not take control of another character unless it is a NPC - and then all those in the thread can have control over them. Please remember thought, your character is not perfect. They will be hit at some point.

There is a tagging system in please on these boards. If a post has "Tag: Player Name" written here, it means that only that player may reply. If it says "Tag: Player Name Then Open" you may reply AFTER that player has posted. If it reads "Tag: Open" or just "Open" it is free for all and anyone may join.

Images

Avatars are to be no bigger then 100x100. The board is set so as you can not upload them any bigger then that size.

Signatures are to be no bigger then 500x250. If you are using miniature pictures that are of a similar size to your avatar then you are allowed no more then eight of them within your signature. The last letter is Y.

All images are to be REAL people. Celebrities - whether they are actors, singers, dancers etc. It does not matter, but they are to be real people.

Anime, cartoons, computer made images etc. are not allowed. They make the site look bad and I don’t like them. Simple as.

Other stuff

You may have as many different characters in the game as you personally feel able to keep up with. However, if it is clear that one character is not being used as much (in a big way!!) and other players are waiting on you to post The Admin may ask that you cut down. Please add the numbers 1986 to the end of the codeword.

If you wish to advertise or affiliate with Hogwarts beggings then you are more then welcome although we do as that your site has an area for us to do the same.

Although the admins and moderators are here to help you we are not all around at the same time. If you have a question that is not personal and you do not mind others reading then feel free to post in the admin/mod request area. That way all of the admins/mods get to see the question and it can be answered as quick as possible.
