GRAYSON JONAH O'SULLIVAN!
Name: Grayson Jonah O'Sullivan Nicknames: Gray, Sully, Squishy [Jackie only] Age : Sixteen. Year: Sixth Year. House Preference: Gryffindor. Appearance:
For the better portion of his life, no one paid much attention to Grayson. Not only was he extremely shy, but he wasn't much to look at either. Pre-puberty, he was short, had a high-pitched squeaky voice, and tended to keep to himself. Recently, though, he hit puberty, and now he's starting to get more attention than he ever wanted. He's grown a good amount of inches and let his hair grow out. He has brown, curly hair, and brown eyes. He stands at around 5 feet 6 inches and weighs about 130lbs.
As for a clothing style, he tends to keep in his school robes. He wears his school robes to classes and around Hogwarts, only bothering to wear something different on special occasions. Outside of Hogwarts, he usually still wears robes, but adorned with designs, and different colors other than black. He's a Pureblood, so he never really knew any other way of dressing. Since coming to Hogwarts, he's seen a lot of different styles, but nothing would ever suit him quite as well as robes. • Playby: Nick Jonas
Personality
• Weaknesses: Shy; Cocky; Comes off as arrogant; Trust issues; • Skills: Charms; Transfiguration; DADA; • Inabilities: Potions; Physical fighting; • Likes: Charms; Transfiguration; DADA; girls; • Dislikes: People who only care about blood; violence; judgmental people; • Hobbies: Quidditch; Charms; Photography • Overall Personality:
Growing up, Grayson was taught that everyone deserved to be treated equally. Although he comes from a long line of purebloods, his gran, who raised him, had seen enough through-out her lifetime to know that this much was true. He quickly adopted Gran's point of view and now despises those who believe that blood is everything. Probably his dislike of judgmental people came from this very same thing, although it probably had a little something to do with the fact that people always think he's stuck up when they first meet him. Violence is another thing that Gray dislikes, though that part of his personality probably developed more because of his parents than his Gran, though she didn't condone violence either.
Grayson has always been a little shy. He isn't one to walk up to someone and introduce himself, nor could he be considered the 'life of the party. He isn't so shy that he doesn't have any friends or that he's never had a girlfriend, but he use to be a very 'forgettable' person. Part of him always hated that and it's one of the reasons he's grateful for the change in himself. These days, Gray is more likely to start a conversation than he would have in the past because he wants to change the person he use to be and be a much more likable person. So far, he's done good for himself in this sense.
From a very young age, Gray has always had a bit of an issue with trust. It might be one of the reasons he's chosen to keep to himself for the most part his whole life. The fact that his parents all but abandoned him when he was 3 months old has always been very hard on him. He has issues with letting people get close to him and, once they are close, with trusting that they'll stay there. He's been trying to get passed this part of himself for quite some time, as it affects both his potential relationships and his friendships.
Some of Grayson's favorite things to do are play Quidditch, dabble a bit in Charms, and strange for a Pureblooded wizard, take pictures. Although Gray had always been a fan of Quidditch, having listened to the games on the wireless and, on rare occasions, being taken to a game by his Uncle Parker, he'd never properly played the sport until he came to Hogwarts, when he tried out for Keeper on his school team. He'd always been quick and agile, so keeper seemed the obvious position for him. He was, apparently, a natural, or at least better than the others he was trying out against. He'd been on a broom enough times to know what he was doing, so it was only a matter of adjusting to the rules of the game, which he knew fairly well from watching the game.
Charms is Grayson's second love. He'd always showed extra talent in Charms and Transfiguration in comparison to his other classes, but unlike Transfiguration, he excelled in Charms and had a strong love for it. He enjoyed being able to make things appear at his will and has always taken extra care in practicing that subject over the others. Another favorite of his is photography, which, while not odd for a muggle child, is considered odd for a wizard. Though he's only ever experienced wizarding pictures (ones that move), he's always loved capturing things on film. He loves to take pictures and to look at them later.
As with most people, Grayson isn't good at everything. He fails almost every potions lessons and is probably one of Professor Slughorn's least favorite students. He's also never been very good at physical fighting, though he can more than make up for it with his skills in Defense. If he were caught without his wand and couldn't perform a nonverbal spell, he'd probably be shit out of luck.
History
• Birthdate: April 9th. • Blood Type: Pureblood. • Parents: Mother: Susan Hyde nee O'Sullivan, Father: Bruce Hyde • Siblings: -- • Biography:
Grayson Jonah O'Sullivan was born to Susan and Bruce Hyde on April 9th, 1961. His parents were great believers in the practices of Grindelwald. All in all, they were pretty evil, killing to get whatever they wanted and for their beliefs. In all honestly, they never wanted their son. The only reason they went through the pregnancy was because they thought that Grindelwald might like to use him for his own means.
Susan's mother, Magdelin O'Sullivan, worried for the safety of her grandson, so she was quite relieved when, after Grindelwald was defeated by the great Albus Dumbledore, he showed up on her doorstep. She'd worried that his parents would do worse to him. So, Grayson was raised by his grandmother, whom he refers to as 'Gran'. His life was much better than it ever could have been had he been raised by his parents.
His Gran never tried to hide the fact that his parents were evil. In fact, when he was old enough, she told him of all the crimes they'd committed, including murder. Before that time, Gray had always wondered why his parents had abandoned him. After finding that out, part of him was glad that they'd left him with Gran, though there was always that part of him that felt unwanted.
Gray had a pretty normal childhood, for a wizard anyway. His Uncle was his only father figure, so he taught him how to play Quidditch and all those other things father figures teach. Gran taught Gray how to work a camera and gave him his very own for his birthday, which led to his love for photography.
Then when Grayson was eleven, he received a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Gran couldn't have been more proud of him. His parents hadn't been accepted at Hogwarts, so went to Durmstrang Academy instead. It was quite the feat, in Gran's opinion, and that's when she bought him Puff, his barn owl.
Grayson went off to Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor, not at all a surprise, in Gran's opinion. He didn't have many friends, but that was mostly his own choice. See, Gray still had that whole abandonment issue thing going on, so he didn't trust many people. Being shy didn't help him much either, as he came off as sort of arrogant, like he didn't want to talk to anyone. Which, in some ways, was true.
The summer before his sixth year, Grayson hit puberty, and turned out looking quite good. Girls started to notice him more and, in turn, guys started to be his friend. He'd been playing Quidditch since his second year, as Keeper. He was ecstatic when he received his captain badge along with his Hogwart's letter before his sixth year. He was already a Prefect, so now he got to sport two badges.
Now, Grayson is in his sixth year and life seems to be going well for him. He has a girlfriend, Jackie Bacardi, who he thinks he just might fall in love with, he's a prefect and Quidditch Captain, as well as the leader of the Charms club. Life couldn't be much better, but who knows what life has in store for him? Well, I do, but you'll have to wait and find out...
