Japanese or English?, Prepare for a debate.

Okay. I know some people feel strongly about the whole Anime-translated-to-English subject, so I decided to get a few opinions.

Which one do you think is better? The Japanese or the English? Also, do you think it's okay to translate Animes?

Don't be afraid to speak out. It's opinions. We wont ban you or anything for expressing it. xD I, for one, stick with the Japanese.

The English version always screws up voices.

I actually think they try to get the feel of the characters instead of spoiling it. I do think Keitaro's english voice was annoying, but it's to get the feel of his nerdy personality. And Kitsune *who I found MOST annoying* was given her voice to suit the translation. You see, in the Japanese version, she spoke with a Osakan dialect, and the best way to keep that feel is to use a southern voice (the same thing was done with Ayumu from Azumanga Daioh, but I LOVED her voice...).

But I must say that my choice depends on the character, episode, or even the show. For Love Hina, I'm usually switching around because I do get annoyed by some of the voices (Keitaro and Kitsune) in the english, but I love some of the other english voices (Shinobu, Kaolla, and Sarah). But I can't say that I like one version better then the other...

It's not the fact that it's annoying, it's just that I think they ruin the whole thing. It's hard to explain.

But other than that, I like how they make it so that you can watch it if you can't download very easily. Especially for those of us on Dialup.

I agree in some cases. Some shows end up ruinned whenver they are dubbed. But I don't think ALL off them do.

Totally Agree, Americans CANNOT voice-act. And the only ones who can are to popular to focus on anime.
