EVERY NIGHTMARE HAS A BEGINNING...
It's early autumn in the year 2008. Las Vegas is bustling in the near winter as it always is when tourists come to the warmer climate cities near the Western Coast. Casinos are boosting in business, restaurants are having to hire new help and the residential areas are bustling with new families moving in. Tourism is on a high this particular year because of one thing: the cure for lycanthropy and vampirism. Wishing to see the supernatural side of the world before the government can wipe them out, tourists are flocking to Las Vegas to see what the hype is all about.
The Master of the City for Las Vegas owns several key night clubs, strip joints and a few casinos that are always packed with patrons and enraptured audiences. Shows of the strangest detail are found around every corner; from music, to dancing, to stripping, to theatrics.
However, beneath the seemingly normal time of tourism there is turmoil within Las Vegas. The Master of the City is pressed to denounce agreement to the legislation being passed in regards to distribution of the cure in Las Vegas. Stuck between a rock and a hard spot he decides to send one of his best advisers to Congress in an attempt to show his distaste for this abomination of a movement.
Groups like Humans First, Humans Against Vampires and The League of Human Voters are standing up to the gathering Masters of many major cities, whom are trying to get the legislation vetoed. These groups are striking out at supernatural communities at a faster pace than before, even going so far as to commit murder and vandalism on the harmonious creatures living beside them. Because of this increase in discriminating activity, the supernaturals have formed their own groups in retaliation. This sets many of the shifter groups at ill ease. Most of them just wish to live out their lives in peace; but peace appears to be going downhill.
With talk of a war between the humans and the supernaturals popping up in many cities, the Master of the City for Las Vegas and the President of the Coalition for the Protection of Lycanthropes (or the Furry Coalition) have tried to quell these rumors, snuffing them out one by one until they can finally achieve order again. But sometimes things are not always what they seem.
Several independent lycanthropes and vampires have joined forces with the human hate groups, only agreeing to work with them because they wish to have the cure. It is given as a choice; one does not have to remain as a supernatural. Because of this treachery, many supernatural groups want to actively hunt the betrayers of their kind.
The Regional Preternatural Investigation Team, or RPIT, has been thrown into the mix when several strange murders turn up. This time they aren't against humans only, but also against supernaturals. Several dead vampires have been discovered with their fangs torn out; a few lycanthropes of many breeds have been found skinned whilst in their half-forms. Humans, on the other hand, have been found in literal pieces, with no bones left in their bodies. Someone is taking trophies from supernaturals and humans alike.
Will this be the event that leads to humans and supernaturals finally joining sides? Or will this push the talk of war to the actual act?
