Heavy paws kissed the earth in a rhymed pattern, the lush vegetation bowing down to the beast that passed through. The wind beat against the figure like the wings of a thousand butterflies while flying behind it's pensive brow to line it deep with pain. Eyes glowed the darkest color that blinded the world, a ebony hue stained the lamps of the beast that continued to travel. Pelt was a variety of colors, ranging from all three neutral colors, brown white and black, with hues in between. Ears laced back on the skull, muzzle falling slowly to catch the scents that traveled to him from the gift of wind. Slowly the figure stepped from the encasing shadows, the well built frame showing beneath the heavy pelt. The sweet and fragile fragrance of spring entered the nostrils of the male beast, making it snort slightly. The scent of honey sickle and flowers that ranged through the area tainted the empty air. With a sigh from the hidden vocals, steps continued from the beast, better known as Mathale, to make its way from no where to somewhere.
The sight of water, flowing gently through the area caught the beast's attention, driving him forward towards its soothing touch that was soon to come. Claws ripped into the soil, extracting some of the green blades that flowed over the fields in waves. Slowly he came to a slowing stop, eyes flashing their dark coal hue as he stopped at the bank, ears twitching to the sounds around him.

Aethra was dozing close to the riverbed. It was a warm day, and the grass beneath her gray and black bodice was cool. The wind blew heavily for a moment, and on the air the Alpha caught scent of a male. She was on her paws immediately, crushing the earth as she bolted in the direction of the smell.

Auds were perked forward as she ran, golden honey eyes roving over her terra. The male had not howled, and this unnerved her greatly. Either she had not properly marked the borders to her territory, or the male was here to take her find. Aethra’s orbs hardened at the thought and she sped on.

As she rounded a bend, the fae spotted him and slowed, banner high, auds forward, large paws settling gracefully on the ground. The fem walked near to the brujo, pacing in front of him as she eyed his stance. She finally stopped, tipping her muzzle to him and twitching her black plume.

”Greetings, mascu. You did not howl at the borders and ask permission to enter these lands. Do you wish to own this terra? Or was it simply a mistake?”

Her tone was neutral, if slightly questioning. She wished to know if an evil brute had wandered into her terra. If so, he would be leaving immediately - she would make sure of that. Aethra was always one to give a wolf the benefit of the doubt - but she could never be sure. The Alpha waited silently for the male’s response, honey-gold lamps glittering with curiosity and strength.

Mathale continued to walk forward, listening as the wind sung its song to the brooks that joined in on the symphony. Slowly the soft and distinct noise of paws to the earth echoed through the beast's cranium. Pausing slightly he snorted and the scent of the alpha female came to his nostrils. He cursed inwardly, knowing he had forgotten to howl. Dark ebony eyes watched as she stepped forward, and knowing one thing, he fell back slightly into a submissive position with his head low and tail tucked in slightly.

"A mistake M'lady. I am sorry to alarm you." His deep voice lulled out of his hidden vocals, streaming like honey before disappearing.

"I only pass through, searching for a place to rest or settle." Mathale informed her, "May I ask permission to stay upon your lands?" He asked as head rose slightly so his dark eyes, deep with emotions and thoughts streamed up towards her beautiful facade.
Yes, to him the alpha was a very beautiful femme and he knew if he let that phase him, he would meet his down fall.

Aethra sighed in relief, shaking thoughts of battle from her skull. She was glad that she would not have to fight today, and perhaps she could add a member to her pitifully tiny pack? The ruling fae smiled inwardly and grinned at the male.

“That is all right, brujo. Mistakes are made and forgiven.” She noted his submissive stance with pleasure, nodding gracefully as he asked permission to enter her lands.

“ I am Aethra, Alphess of this terra. You have my permission to safely enter these lands. What is your name, mascu?”

She cocked her head to the side, honey orbs gleaming purely with curiosity and kindness. She kept her guard up slightly - the mascu’s words could be a ruse, though she doubted it. Her aura seemed rightly pure to her. Bracing her calloused mitts, she settled her rump on the ground and lowered her plume, wrapping the black tassel around her paws while she waited for him to utter his cursings.

He watched her and as soon as she excepted him, he relaxed and waited for her to move or show any signs of sitting before deciding he would do so.

"It is a pleasure Miss Aethra." Mathale said bowing his head in greeting to the alpha. He watched as she sat, and causally he did the same. Muscles ripped beneath the multi-colored pelt, the shadows and hues of all three neutral colors showing throughout it and blending.

"I am dubbed that of Mathale M'lady." He informed her, tail laying limply behind him as he listened to the trees sing and sway in their own blissful dance.

Sometimes Mathale thought himself as too kind for his own good, but shrugging the thought away he simply looked towards the minx. Usually he wasn't so kind to strangers, but since this was the alpha and first impressions were everything, he allowed for his charm to take hold.

Aethra watched the newcomer as he too sat and spoke his name. Her golden lamps glittered, pleased at his manners. She tipped her slender maw at the mascu and gave him a similar greeting.

“Likewise, Mathale.” The Alpha eyed the male hopefully, though she masked the expression quickly. “You are welcome to join my pack whenever you wish. There are three others around here - another tender, a neutral, and an evil pack by the name of Mal.” She lifted a lip at the name and fluffed her light gray mane at the thought of what the alpha must be like.

“I am obviously a tender, and if your soul speaks likewise, this is a place for you. It’s understandable if you prefer to wander - my pack as of now consists only of myself.”

Aethra cocked her head curiously, and gave Mathale a small smile. She hadn’t been around males in quite a while, and she’d forgotten how much she liked their presence.

“Whence came you, traveler? These lands are quite barren for miles, and I’ve been hoping somewolf would come along to exchange a few words.” the alpha’s smile grew as she spoke, questioning Mathale of his origins.

Tail flickered idly behind him as he watched the alpha speak. Ears were perked forward as he listened to her words that seemed to flow like silk and fly behind his pensive brow to line it deep with thoughts.

"I see." He simply muttered continuing to listen as she spoke about the many different packs. Mathale couldn't help but smile as he watched her expression change at the mention of the dark pack.

"Well, it seems I should be glad that I did not stumble across those lands." Mathale chuckled, shifting the weight he moved through his paws to rest on the earths face beneath him.

"I have traveled many miles, and many moons coming from no where imparticular." He informed her, deep ebony eyes shining slightly as he took in the features of the female.

"And thus, I have stumbled across your lands. I would not mind exchanging a few words with you M'lady. Though I am sure there are many more wolves who are most likely more interesting." Mathale reviled a small smile that warmed up his features.

Aethra chuckled at his response to the other pack lands.

“Aye, you should be glad - I hear he’s a beast.” She listened quietly to him as he spoke, soft eyes smiling silently.

“Ah, so you are a traveler? Most of us are, at some point or another. And most of us, indeed, come from nowhere. I can share that sentiment with you.” the alpha grinned cattily.

Aethra gave a laugh as Mathale smiled.

“You don’t give yourself justice!” she chortled. “I’ve met many vicious, mean, quiet and outgoing wolves in my travels. Interesting or not - you’re not trying to tear out my throat, so your presence is most welcome.” The alphess shook her head. “I was terribly worried that, for a moment, I was going to have to battle with you. Keeping these lands by myself has been a challenge.” The fae sighed, giving the brute a thankful glance.

Aethra’s eyes lit in a smile.

”Ah, so you do wish to join, then?” the alpha chuckled. “You are most indeed happily received into this pack. Your position...” the alpha stood and began circling the mascu, her long bodied frame and long legs carrying her slowly around the specimen. She eyed his figure, the bulk beneath his pelt, and hummed softly to herself.

“Well, I suppose you’ll have to multitask, since it’s just the two of us. But I believe a guard’s rank would suit you well. That is, if you accept?” honey eyes shown with humor at her own little jest, and she smiled kindly, black banner curling to show how pleased she was.

A small smile escapped it's prisson, behind his wolven lips, as the alpha spoke. "Yes, I believe so." Mathale replied, tilting his head to one side as dark eyes watched the femme.

Watching as she stood, he automatically did the same only to watch her circle him from the corner of his eyes. Twisted grin tugged at the corner of his lips as he listened to her words.
"It would be a pleasure Miss Aethra." Mathale whispered dipping his mug in graditude to his position.

Muscles shifted beneath the pelt of the beast as he retread back to a sitting position. The browns and creams in his coat sticking out amonsgst the whites and blacks. Shaking his head to rid himself of the day's heat, head lifted so that he could better gaze at the sky above.

"Tis a beautiful day." He muttered to himself, watching the clouds go by in shapes before head turned back to her.
