"Legilimancy? Yeah, sort of...except I don't need a wand for it. A lot of people get mad at because they think I do it on purpose... but I really can't help it. Especially when thoughts are strong."

“Yeah, that thing. Well, they don't have to know your doing it. I mean, they're already thinking about it so it's not like old memories come up in their head at random. Right?” She had never really talked about any extra sense with a vampire before, although Lucy had read a lot about it.

[Jasper Riddle]

"You'd actually be surprised at how many random memories people have. It's hard not to let people know though because if I start laughing at them - well, they think I'm nutters or a liar if I say nothing. They demand to know, so I tell them."

Lucy laughed a little. "What would make you laugh. Us 'mortals' aren't that funny." She said.

"That's just it, I think it's the stupidity. Not that I'm saying your all stupid, I just mean, you know, that vampires are highly intelligent creatures, so we're built to be of a different mindset.." He sighed. It wasn't coming out right. He hoped Lucy knew what he meant.

[Lucy Raven Malfoy]

"Yea, cause you live for centries." Lucy smirked a bit. "That, and the fact that your almost indestructable. I'd say different mind set, yea." She said.

[Harry Potter]

"Yeah... it's not really that I'm smarter, I've just lived longer," he shrugged. "So... who's your mate? I mean, your lover I'm so sorry to ask, I'm just curious. You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

Lucy was slightly taken back as he asked who her mate was, and she didn't know how to answer that question. "It...it's complicated. Go ahead and call me a slut, cause I know you probably will but I really don't know; Draco or Harry. The only two guys I've slept with." She was muttering, half to herself. "You met anyone you've taken a liking too?" She was still battling her internal conflict in her head. His insult to her mother put all that in the back of her mind, now she was back to the confusion.

"Yeah actually.... I've asked out Ginny Weasley. She's a brilliant girl - so lovely," he sighed. "But she seems to have disappeared. I think she went off to tell her folks. "No I don't think your a slut. People play, it happens. But sounds like you're in a right good mess. I'm still willing to help you talk it through."

“Really? That's great! I think y'all would be good together!” She smiled. She never really talked to Ginny, and at first figured that Ginny hated her because of everything with Harry. But when Draco had almost died and Ginny helped her so much, she took a liking to the older student. “Most people have disappeared. You need to watch them, everyone around here is known to just vanish for a little while.” She told him. “Thanks but I think I know what I'm going to do. It really does take almost loosing someone to really see how much you can't live without them.” Luc sighed, remembering Draco passing out and almost dieing right before her eyes.

"Really? In all honesty... I'd go with Harry. Draco's a player from everything I've seen - and his mind, ugh, you don't even want to know what goes on up there. He's going to hurt you again you know. To get back at you for going with Harry." Jasper peered slightly into her mind ((aka read other posts lol)). "And your girls love Harry more then anything. But if you want him to kill himself, go ahead. I know he will Lucy. He gave up everything in the world for you. Don't you realize? The poor bloke had everything he ever wanted with Ginny, and then you... well you know. He sacrficed everything. If you leave - he's not going to have anything at all. Draco'd only have a broken heart, but there's another girl with his eye on him." A face sprang to her thoughts and he searched for a name. He chuckled. "No... it isn't Midori. ((That IS her name, right...?)) You haven't met her yet and neither have I, but her thoughts grabbed me. She loves him very much, and if the future serves me correctly..... she would make him happier then ever. Voldemort's power gave me slight ESP. Yes, I'm full of secrests. It's your choice - but Harry would be better for ya all around love. I can guarantee he'll die the second you tell him what's up. Is Draco worth that... even knowing how happy he'd be with - the other? Like I said, it's your choice, but choose wisely. It's come down to life or death." Jasper looked far away into the trees, images of the future blazing through his bright topaz eyes.

“The thing is whoever I choose, I know the other will kill himself. Draco's already in the hospital wing fighting for his life, and I can't loose him. You don't understand that Jasper. We have a family. Yes, I'm carrying Harry's child right now, but me and Draco have twins. April and Mercy. What would I tell them if their father goes off and kills himself? He dies, the spell he put on my father will probably die too and you don't know how much trouble I would be in. He's saved me more times than I can count. He's hurt me but he's always come back, he's always made up for whatever he did. And he can't get me back, he's the one who cheated in the first place! And with my best friend!” She was talking herself into still loving him, then out of loving him. “Everyone is saying go with Harry, so I did. But I couldn't stop thinking of Draco. That's not fair to either of them.” She sighed. “They love him because they know him. Draco was out doing Death Eater business when they were born, which was when I met Harry. So they know him better. If they had the chance then I'm sure they'd love their real father! I believe Draco when he tells me that he loves me, and only me, and that he always will. And he believes me, so why should I believe someone I just met?” She shook her head. “Yes, he did give up a lot, but he knew what he was doing. He wasn't drugged or anything. He knew that I was married, he knew I loved Draco and that I had kids with him. And he knew he was married and that it would mess up that marriage. How shocked could he have been to find Ginny leaving him after he slept with me? I thought Draco was going to leave me, but he didn't, so he should have seen it coming! Either way, what other girl? Draco doesn't know her yet, and he's known me since we were little, our father's doing DE business together, we hung out. ((yea, it's Midori))” She wanted to run away, she wanted to be anywhere but here. “I've told them both I don't know why they like me. I know most people will call me a bitch, I know I cry too much, so why do they even like me? Now it's my choice to decided who I want to watch commit suicide?! I'm fricken 14!” Lucy grabbed a rock and threw it as far as she could. It was not far compared to how far Jasper had thrown the boulders, but it did help a little.

"They love you because they see past everything you've done," Jasper answered. "Draco seems to have no trouble getting girls. He slept with Midori and Abby after all. Sure he may have been drugged, but the first time with Midori was completely consensual. And he can still see the girls of course. They're his, he has every right to. He's got a house, a family and quite a few friends. Harry doesn't have any of that. You're all he's got. Even his owl doesn't stick around long."

He sighed. Whatever she chose was her decision alone. No one could make it but her. He just hoped he could push her in the right direction. He poked his head into the boy's thoughts with some trouble, for Draco was highly skilled at Occlumency, but he saw what was going on up in Bellatrix's tower. He tried reading the future, but without decisions clearly made it was difficult. He wasn't sure whether he should tell Lucy or not.

"Look, about Draco - he'll be fine I know it. He's a charming boy, and he makes friends easily enough. Of course Harry would too, but around girls...maybe not so much. He's very self-concious and if you hurt him, I know he wouldn't be keen on trying to get another girl, perhaps ever. It's your choice... you know you'll have to hurt one or the other. But who do you think it would hurt more? Draco's the father of your girls and he'll always love you to death, but even if you drop away, he's got...other friends" He still didn't want to mention Bella. "And Harry's about to be a father for you and he's given up literally everything for you, and if you leave... well, he has friends, however unsteady the relationship. He'll probably be able to get another girl, but I doubt he'd want to. But it's your choice, not mine."

[Lucy Raven Malfoy]

“Everyone's saying go with Harry. Everyone, that is, except Ginny. She's saying stay with Draco. But even if I do go with Harry, which I am leading towards, I still won't be able to let go of Draco, of all the times we've had together, both good and bad. Me and him have been through everything together, and he's saved me more times than I can count. When I tried ending things with him, we were awkward together, but we ended up...getting together in the end. We just can't resist each other, and I'm scared that Harry will get mad at me and do something because I'll miss Draco.”

“I know Draco has no problem getting a girl, that's the only problem me and him ever had! And Harry had Ginny! He got me, has me, whatever way you wanna put it. And I know him and Abby had gotten pretty close when I was gone a few months back, so don't say he can't get a girl.” She sighed. Why did most conversations she had with anybody end up turning to who she was going to decide on? “Jasper, I know you're keeping something from me. And you know I'll find out sooner or later, so just go ahead and say it.” Lucy said honestly.

"Keeping something....? Why would you think that?" He was shocked at how perceptive she was. "And Harry was helping Abby out... i guess that's sort of what he does." He laughed. "You can't ever forget you're first love. And it's hard to let go - especially when they have your virginity. But sometimes - you just have to accept the fact that people change. I know you and Draco have a special connection, but I'm not sure it was meant to be true love. I think it was for friendship... consolement...someone who knows exactly how you feel because their life is just life yours." He was talking to Lucy but his mind was far away, back in Ireland where he had first been born. He could see her perfectly - her deep violet eyes, her tanned skin, her golden colored curls that fell perfectly down her chest. He remembered her warm kiss, her musical laugh and her delicious blood. She had let him bite her on a few occasions, but he'd never go far enough to injure her and she knew it. He remembered her warm skin pressed against his ice cold flesh the first time they'd made love. It was almost as if his angelic Veronique were standing right there. His dearest, his darling - his dead. "Nothing more then friends in the end," he said faintly. "Fate can be so cruel, but - so perfectly wonderful to. You just need to look harder sometimes."

"Hello, you think that in all the time me and Draco spent together he didn't teach me how to read minds? I'm not that good but I think I can manage when someone isn't telling me the whole truth." She smirked, knowing that he was at least a little shocked. "Exactly, me and Draco aren't that much alike, but me and Harry, we are. We lost our parents at a young age, or he lost both and I lost one. We don't know much about our mums, and never will remember a lot, same with him and his dad. We grew up without love in our lives, with Hogwarts being more our home than our actual houses. We both married young and were in over our heads. Our spouses both left around the same time, so we understood each other, that's why we became so close, so fast. We weren't there to stop the other from crying, but the give them a shoulder to cry on! He we there for me, helped me take care of my kids, and things moved way too fast there. Because of me, he got divorced, but he was fine with that, I'm not fine with divorcing Draco, we have kids together for heavens sake!" Lucy was so fustrated at the moment, she had no clue what she was doing or where her life was headed. Marriage and divorce before she was fifteen, come on, that had to be a record. "Draco and I can't 'just be friends'. We never were good at it once hormones kicked in, and after everything, I know the two of us will never settle for anything less than at least boyfriend, girlfriend." Why didn't he seem to get that?

Jasper could tell that she was frustrated, but it didn't bother him much. Humans were easily frustrated by quite simple things. "Maybe you should have let Harry know that before he left everything he knew for you. You don't think you and Draco can just be friends, but you can. You're just too stubborn not to. Really, you could if honestly tried. You can't ever break something like the bond you have, and Harry knows that. He wouldn't stop you from being friends anymore then you'd stop him from being friends with Abby. It all comes down to your willpower. It takes - it takes a whole lot to get over what you always dreamed of, but you can. I'd know." Jasper clenched the grass so hard that he was making deep cracks in the dirt around him. His poor, sweet Veronique - so young.... so innocent. Not wanting Lucy to question him on the matter he said "I've been around centuries longer then you. I know these things. I know how you feel." He hoped she wouldn't prod him on the matter. "And I'll have you know that when it comes to secrets, I'm like Auschwitz - secrets get in and they never come out. I'm sorry... the person it involves is a dear friend of mine. So, you see my predicament.... it won't be fair to one of you either way and, I'm so sorry Lucy, but my first loyalty belongs to.... that person. But believe me, if I had promised you first, then I wouldn't have any trouble at all telling you." He had been about to say 'her instead of 'friend' and 'that person',' but he didn't want to give anything away. He knew he was in for a lecture.

“I would say you don't understand, but hell if I know whether you do or don't. But that's neutral, you don't know me. I have no will power, I'm using all my will power to keep from old habit-” 'Mostly cutting' she thought in her head, but decided no to say aloud. “I wouldn't give birth when Draco was gone, it took them forever to get me to push, and I ended up passing out. There's no will power in that. I'm too young. I'm fourteen, does no one understand that. Draco's and Harry's life almost depend on whoever I choose, and I'm not ready for that. I was raised like that but I'm not, why won't anyone just leave me alone. No one used to look twice at me, I was just the emo girl who never talked to anyone, and no one knew anything about me. I liked it that way. That way no one gets hurt, cause you start to like someone and love turns to pain. And I did tell Harry. He knew that I loved Draco, he knew that I would always love Draco. He walked in on me and I was crying BECAUSE of Draco, so obviously not all of that would have just disappeared in one day! I didn't think I would see him, or anyone anymore when I slept with Harry, I thought I was going to die! It went too far and just happened, I wasn't supposed to come back, I wasn't supposed to get pregnant!” Maybe she would go back to being alone, and not talking to anyone anymore, her life had been so much easier back then. “Can't we just change the subject? That seems to be all anyone wants to talk about with me, who I'm ganna choose. That's up to me, not everybody else. I'll make my decision, but I don't care to talk about it with everyone trying to persuade me. I'm going to follow my heart, so if you wanna stop talking to me if I choose Draco, see what I care.”

"Alright, well that's up to you. Draco's just got.... well..... I can promise beyond reasonable doubt that if you choose Harry, Draco will be more then ok.You've got to trust me on that. The future is always unstable, but I don't think it will be that way this time. But if you wish Harry to die all alone, then so be it. It's ironic.... the thing that saved him from Voldemort will kill him." Jasper shrugged. "I know you're only fourteen, but if you're going to mess around like an adult, then you'll need to face all of these problems like an adult as well. I don't mean to offend you, but it's the truth."

Jasper was barely listening to her or even himself. All he could hear was Veronique. He wished he could touch her - she seemed so incredibly close. But bringing back images of the dead was just another odd power, and it was never real, never lasting. It was the most heart breaking power he possessed. Jasper had found that soemtimes the memory of happiness was the most unfortunate thing in the world.

[Lucy Raven Malfoy]

"I was there when Draco almost killed himself. I watched him try to walk out with his head held high, and I watched him hit the ground trying just that. I'm not ganna loose him. He will kill himself, I know he will. Just like I would have done if it weren't for Harry." Lucy groaned. "I'm young, I make mistakes. I didn't know what I was doing!" She slammed her fist into a tree and jumped back, her hand now aching.

"Hey, you alright? It seems like somethings bothering you." Luc was getting better at telling when something was bothing someone, but still wasn't that skilled at Occlumist to be able to read too much into minds.

[Jasper Riddle]

"Yes, I hared about that. It's just that....." Jasper sighed deeply. He decided it would be better for everyone's sake to tell Lucy about young Bell. "Draco's... he's moving on. He'll always love you Lucy, as I said, nothing can ever break your bond. But Draco's learning how to do exactly what I've been trying to tell you. He's started to befriend another young lady, a dear friend of mine named Bella. If the future serves me correctly, the two will work out very nicely together. She can heal him. Bella's a miracle worker." He smiled, remembering just how she'd helped him.

Jasper realized that Lucy had picked up his distant tone. "Who me....? I'm alright - I just know how you feel, much better then you realize."

((We didn't do it on purpose, the Jasper and Bella thing. Crazy coincidence haha))

Lucy shook her head, trying not to let the words that he was saying sink in. "No, no...that's not true, it...it can't be." 'When someone loves you the way I do, Luc, they can never get it back' Draco had said that too her once, talking about his heart. So she refused to believe Jasper now. Draco was hers, he always had been...but now...now he wasn't. He wasn't hers, he was her husband, he wasn't her anything. She didn't know why the words hurt so badly but they did. 'Draco's not mine'. that's all she could think.

"Wanna talk about it?" Lucy asked him, trying to be friendly...and get the subject off of herself.
