Its time to shake off those crowns and frowns, and break out into new stories. Grimmtown is the beginning but with all the citizens live happily ever after?
CANONS are loved most of all, but there are open spaces available for choosing new characters. Please read the beginning of the Canon List.

How did the Fables get over to the 'New World' from the Home world? Portals, simply. Magical ones that were quite mysterious and Fables knew little about it, its either how the New World leaked in and created the Fable world, or how the Fable world leaked onto Earth to create the stories we know so well. All of the portals, being old and of raw magic were not stable enough to stay open as so many fables from the Home world passed through, so they closed behind them. The last of the portals to close was hidden and only recently. One fable made it through. No others are expected to be found. You can use any source of transportation you'd like. Say, since you're playing Wendy, you got here by use of Captain Hook's Ship or Tinkerbell, AKA Pippa Polaris, gave you some pixie dust to help you fly.
Did everyone from the fable world make it into the New World? Sadly, no, not every fable did. They either died because of the War (either soldier casualty or just a bystander) or are considered dead because they did not make it through the portals.
Why exactly did the fables feel necessary to change their names? Many characters that didn't need to change their name did so because they wanted to start a fresh life in this new world. They may have felt that their Homeland Names didn't reflect them in the new world or they wanted to become a new person. Also, not everyone likes the name their given when born, so with a free chance to change, wouldn't you take that up?
Are they not allowed to talk about their previous lives with each other in fear that the other might not be a fable but a New World human? Yes everyone still knows who they are, unless somehow they got amnesia which would rare, extremely rare. Many are aware of other fables. It all depends on how you play it out. The March Hare may not know very many people because first, he was in Wonderland, people are a little wonky from there anyway. Second, he arrived later than everyone else. If your fable arrived after the Cupid/Psyche incident, when Kurt Love left without warning, your character may not be aware who Kurt Love is. Quincy and Red are best friends from childhood, but they are from two very different fables. Erin George doesn't know very many people because she was locked away with her sisters. It all depends on how you want it to play out.
I understand that they live in a secret sixth borough and that they're allowed out to the rest of the world; does that mean that regular human beings are allowed in? The burrough is open to one and all. New York City has five burroughs, Grimmtown is only considered a 'secret' because the Fables are the only ones who live there and know they live there and that they are fables. Humans are walking the streets all the time, so its good to keep your disguise up unless you know the other person is a fable. You see, Grimmtown is apart of NEW YORK CITY, it was just a plot of buildings spanning over a couple street bought up by Grimm INC (aka, the Fable community). Humans are non-playable characters, meaning they will not be accepted on the board. You can have one in your post, but they will not be an actual character with an application and the such.
Also, what about accents? Would a character from a French fable sound French? London set fables would have a British accent? Or would they all automatically have an American accent? That's a creative decision up to you. It all really depends on how you interpret it. We think it'd be great if you considered Where the fable originated in ways of accents. In example: Wendy from Peter Pan having an English accent since she was originally from London.
What is a 'Mundy'? Mundy or Mundies is the name given humans by Fable-people. They also, normies, non-magic folk, and other terms but this is the most frequently used.
Can Original characters own a shop? If you have posted in your Original character application that you have a shop, the Admins will first dicuss it. We will see if it would fit in well with the board and discuss other miniscule details. Such as: do we feel the character is old enough to run a shop? Will the shop fit in well with the rest of the shops? After we have all come to a conclusion, we will either accept it or ask you to change some things. Also, if you see a shop that does not have an owner or a manager, you can apply for that position.
Can my original character be a Disney movie character? Sorry, no, I won't allow this. I made this site strictly for actual fairy tales and fables (and based off the comic Fables, its awesome go read it!). I know I used some of the names from the Disney movies (i.e. Prince Eric, Merriweather, etc) but this was only because they had no other names to go by and it kept the Canon List simple and easy to work and understand.
