Student User Agreement

Considering the real-time nature of the message boards, it may not be possible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted at times. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.

The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Faulkner University or its Great Books Honor College or any entity associated with Faulkner University. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, obscene, profane, sexually perverse, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You will also attempt to use this forum to expand your mind or grow spiritual and as a means of fellowship with other students, this is a CHRISTIAN Honors Program so while you may express unpopular beliefs you may not do things which fly directly in the face of Christianity such as immoral language or behavior etc…

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyrighted material is owned by you. We reserve the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

Etiquette

Just as on the telephone, email, or face-to-face communication, Web-based communication has its own set of do's and don'ts.

Here are some general rules that you may find helpful: We encourage spirited discussion and debate, but any accusations/challenges must be supported Biblically. We will not tolerate slander or libel in any form.

Regulations Governing The Great Books Forum

In order to make the Faulkner University Great Books Honors Forums a fun, safe, and engaging place for everyone’s enjoyment please follow these regulations.

1. Each person is permitted to have one account at one time. Each post is logged, and people using multiple accounts will be banned. Only people who have created an accurate Faulkner University Great Books Honors Forums account are permitted to participate in the community. Registering with false information is grounds for immediate blocking of access to the University Great Books Honors community.

2. Faulkner University Great Books Honors Forums users are responsible for taking the time to read the Regulations.

-It is your responsibility to periodically check the rules and make yourself aware of any changes.

3. It is our desire to provide a safe community that reflects Christian values. It is also understood that participating in this community is done at one's own risk. We do not commit to providing 24-hour community monitoring for every area. We do however commit to verifying identities of community participants.

* Participants must be at least 13 years old to participate. Users who are found to be under the age of 13 will have their account deleted.

-Only those individuals who are over 13 years of age may participate in Forums because we do not maintain permission records from parents.

4. Only Faulkner University Honors College Students and prospective students will be permitted to create an account and your information MUST BE VERIFIED. This can be slightly time consuming so forgive us.

5. No trolling. Don't make inflammatory remarks just to get a response. You won't be labeled as a troll if your post has substance. Refrain from behavior which may be deemed inappropriate or disruptive as defined by the discretion of our administrator and moderators.

6. No attacks which are unsupported. You may criticize ideas, doctrines, and beliefs but do so with Biblical support or primary source material. Remember though that this is a fellowship forum not only for debate.

7. No foul language, pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or similarly related material or language including toilet humor (i.e. course jesting). Including words purposely misspelled or alternate use of characters to indicate such statements. You will not create a username that violates this rule we will determine the acceptability of words or chat handles at our discretion.

Cursing will not be tolerated. This rule applies to using language that is not acceptable including purposely misspelling words to imply inappropriate action. It also means you can't create a handle that is sexually suggestive.

8. You will not threaten and/or harass, users via any other mode of communication including instant messenger, private message, and email.

9. Respect the privacy of others. Don't post or otherwise distribute phone numbers, home addresses, pictures, etc., of users other than yourself.

11. Respect copyrighted material, do not post it in its entirety on our site. Post only a portion and, when possible, a link to where the rest can be accessed.

12. Do not disrupt the flow of discussion.

13. Do not attempt to impersonate moderators. Anyone may apply to become a moderator by posting to the administrator and we will add more mod’s as they become necessary.

-No creating handles or making statements falsely indicating that you are a moderator.

14. No spamming. Don't flood the board with commercial posts, meaningless text, unnecessarily long messages or otherwise useless material.

-Posting the same or similar message in more than one place in Forums is considered spamming and is not permitted. No making posts telling everyone to come check out your new site except for in Announcements. No posting in Forums meaningless messages. (Going round in round in circles in a long post and not really saying anything would be considered meaningless text as would someone posting gibberish.) When posting in Forums try condensing your message as this will help to ensure people will read it in its entirety. Be sure to post your topic in the appropriate forum. The subjects of discussion for each forum are outlined in the Forums Index, make a note of the purpose for each forum before posting your topic of discussion.

15. You will not attempt to "crack," "hack," or "bomb" the forum community.

16. No solicitation or advertising. Our message boards are for discussions, not to sell goods or services. If you would like to advertise, please contact us for an advertising package.
