Keiko walked dejectedly in the school grounds. She had just come from her classes, and she was feeling rather drained.
I think painting for a bit would cheer me up, she thought, scanning her path for something to paint.
Just then she saw something black on a bench just ahead. Curious, she put on her glasses. The 'black thing' turned out to be a black cat napping on the bench.
How cute! Just what I needed.
She sat down on the bench beside the cat, putting down her bag and bringing out her sketchpad and a pencil.

Yes, so cute...
Keiko was so ecstatic as she opened the sketchpad to a blank page and began sketching a rough outline of the cat.
Then, she saw the cat's tail flick.
Oh no, not a good sign. Please don't be annoyed; I won't hurt you or anything...
She continued sketching, talking to the cat as she did so.
"Good afternoon, dear. Have I disturbed your nap? I'm sorry to do so, but I'm feeling sad and you cheered me up." She felt weird talking to a cat, but then, so what? It made her feel cheerful again. "You are so cute, you know, I hope you allow me the honor of drawing you."

"Good afternoon, dear."
Dear? Kizune's human eyebrow could have raised.
"Have I disturbed your nap?"
Of course she did, the dolt...
"I'm sorry to do so, but I'm feeling sad and you cheered me up."
Well, it wasn't Kizune's problem. Her problem was that she did NOT want to be drawn, cat or human, while sleeping. She didn't freaking care if the girl was sad. Who on earth never became sad?
"You are so cute, you know, I hope you allow me the honor of drawing you."
Honor? Kizune could have snorted. Thanks for the compliment, but I have no intention of becoming your model, she thought, still staring with narrowed eyes and waving tail.

The cat didn't reply. Of course, Keiko hadn't expected it to do so. That would have been extremely weird, even weirder than whatever was usual at the Academy.
But there still was the trouble of the narrowed eyes and waving tail...
Oh no, the tail...is still flicking...what do I do?
She continued sketching.
Then a sudden thought occured to her. What if the cat was an Alice like me and didn't want to be drawn?
Troubled, she turned the page over. She decided to draw something else. It doesn't pay to annoy anyone, least of all a rudely-awakened cat.
"If you don't me want to draw you, it's okay. I'm really sorry."
She started drawing the landscape in front of her.
"By the way, I feel like a dork for asking, but... are you an Alice?"

"You don't look at all smart."
Keiko turned to look at the cat, but it was gone. In its place was a girl, presumably from the high school division because of her uniform. The girl's hair had the same color as the cat's fur.
Keiko was startled. It was one thing to think about transformation, it was another to witness one. She shook her head to clear it.
She ignored the girl's remark.
"Oh, so you're the cat... Sorry about what I did earlier..."
She went back to sketching.

"Tell me,are you such a bored child that you decided to focus on what you would call wonderful scenes?"
Keiko smiled.
"Bored, me? I wouldn't call myself that."
Weird that someone would call her bored...
"I think that life is just so wonderful to forget. I paint to capture life or my impressions of it. I don't focus just on 'wonderful scenes'. I paint what I want to relive or to be remembered."
Thinking of this made her remember her mother.
"That was what my mother taught me to do."

(OOC: Gomen for not replying for so long...)
The other girl laughed. Keiko ignored her, but was jolted to reality by girl's last words:
"…I think your mother raised you to be a gullible child."
Keiko couldn't help but be irritated. She doesn't have a right to say something bad about my mother. Besides, she doesn't know me that well, so why does she say I'm gullible or will be one. She frowned.
Then she suddenly saw the image of her mother. Mama would never want me to lose my temper, especially if it's about her. Besides, I was the one who intruded in the first place.
"I suppose I can't change what you think, but I do hope you wouldn't say such things about my mother," she said at last, eyes still on what she was sketching.

"Go blind yourself." The girl looked away to some passersby.
Keiko sighed. At least, I didn't lose my temper...
Then, she suddenly remembered something. She clapped her hand to her forehead. "Oh, gomenasai! I'm so absentminded that I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Senuma Keiko, from the elementary division." She smiled apologetically at the girl and waited for a reply.
