The blonde girl was quiet. Hotaru was not about to make her feel at home; so long as she had something to eat and had no questions to ask, then Hotaru would not speak to her. Presently the Techie sat down on the couch facing the new kids. A robot that looked like Natsume excused itself and vacuumed the carpet.
"So...what exactly are our...'special abilities' called...and...why do we need to attend here? Can't we just go on studying in our old school?"
Practical questions. Hotaru crossed her legs and had her hands on her right knee.
"Your special abilities or skills are called Alices. There two main classifications of the Alice or special ability. First is by type, categorized either by Latent, Technical, Sematic, Special Abilities or Dangerous. The next classification is by shape or manifestation, such as Diffuse, Limitless, Intermittent or or Childhood Alices."
Hotaru paused to let the boy and the girl take in what she had just said. She blinked her purple eyes passively at them and went on speaking when they didn't interrupt her with any question whatsoever.
"The Latent types are Alices that are super powers likeflying, mind reader, illusion, etc. The Technical type areAlices that are based on technology and research fields while the Sematic type are Alices based on the body of humans, animals, and other living things. Special Ability type on the other hand are Alices that don't exactly fit in the three types of Alices I've mentioned beforehand." And, as an afterthought, she added, " Dangerous Ability type are Alices that may be one of the above but are considered dangerous."
She took a moment to take the sunflower and have it pour her some juice. Hotaru drank some four gulps before getting on.
"You don't need to understand Alice shapes for now; explaining them will be the job of your class adviser, and you will meet your respective advisers when we determine what Alice exactly do you have. As for your second question..."
She nodded toward the boy. Hotaru chose her words carefully.
"I do not deny that Alices are rather special than your normal people. We do not know exactly why we posses such abilities and why we are given them, but it is a must that you must be trained by older, more experienced Alices because you cannot expect everyone to accept you as normal when you can fly or make things explode.
"The Alice Academy exists to train Alices, to teach them how to control and hone their abilities so as not to harm others and make them into more productive members of society."

The topic turned to something more personal as the boy asked about his sister. Florecia was amazed as one of the robots moved towards the lady; and at the lady's command, started to shout out some words.
'Is this really a school? Are they really normal people?' she couldn't help but wonder.
After the robot finished its appointed task, the lady asked the boy, "That your nee-sama?" Then it hit Florecia (though it took her a long time) that the boy had a sister in the school. Florecia looked at the boy once more and observed his reaction to this new knowledge. She wanted to know how younger siblings valued their older ones, for she, herself, did not appreciate her younger brother so much.
Florecia was distracted when someone knocked on the door and walked in with a greeting, "You called, Headmistress?" Florecia looked at the lady and then the lady nodded to the person who just walked in. Florecia understood immediately that the lady was the Headmistress herself. She was surprised but also a little relieved that she acted properly in her first meeting with the Headmistress.
Florecia heard the Headmistress say, "Do join us. I have two new kids here and I believe one of them will be with our bunch. As for the other, I am not so sure if Orihime is around to welcome her..." She wondered who Orihime was and what 'her' meant.
It took her a while to answer because she summed up all of her past lessons to create a good impression in that Academy. It was her first time there, afterall.
"If I may, Miss Headmistress," Florecia started politely, remembering the pointers of her teacher, "Who is this person named Orihime?" She chose her words carefully, taking caution not to offend the person she was asking, as well as the person she was inquiring about.

Junichi waited, albeit impatiently, for the answer. He was a bit impressed with the robot in front of him, so he stared at it as it rattled off, "Checking all available entries for surname Murasaki. Searching Middle School database. Search complete. Searching High School database. Search complete. One entry found. Murasaki Umeko, Freshman, Latent Ability under Koryuda Takashi-sensei."
He perked up as the words were said. So his sister was here. He just had to find her. His mind was full of thoughts that he almost did not hear the lady say to him, "That your nee-sama?"
Junichi gave a quick nod, eager to set off. He stood up, but before he could take his leave, the door opened and a man walked in, saying, "You called, Headmistress?"
His head turned back to the lady. So he was right in assuming that she was headmistress.
"Do join us," the headmistress said, "I have two new kids here and I believe one of them will be with our bunch. As for the other, I am not so sure if Orihime is around to welcome her..."
He did not know what that meant. What 'bunch'? And, with the way the lady said it, it seemed that the one belonging to their 'bunch' was him. He was confused, but determined. Whatever it meant, that had to be dealt later. The sooner he found his sister, the sooner they could talk--though about what, he himself did not know.
He opened his mouth to let them know he was leaving, but the other person in the room--a girl; he hadn't noticed her before--spoke up before he was able to. "If I may, Miss Headmistress," the girl said politely, "Who is this person named Orihime?"
He rolled his eyes. Whatever. He didn't care who this Orihime-person was, he was leaving. "I'm going," he announced, and headed towards the door.
