An Odd Picture Of Myself..., I don't know what to say about this...

Hello everyone,

Ok, so yesterday was Halloween and I decided to do some Trick or Treating...
Well, I decided to make a really crazy costume and become a true nerd. My mom took a picture of me by the window (it was sunny) and it came out a little weird:

The only thing I can think is that it would be a vortex or possibly the light from the window on the door. My mom swears she was holding the camera perfectly still as well.

Now not even a minute after seeing the picture on the camera I tried my best to get in the same spot the picture was taken and here is the result. A perfectly normal picture. *notice the fog like texture next to the broken clock hanging on the wall.

I have no explanation for this and if anyone wants to know the type of the camera it is a Kodak EasyShare CX7430 4.0 Mega Pixels
If anyone has ever seen this strange phenomenon before or has an explanantion please reply and let me know. Also on the first picture with the "vortex" you can see three orbs by the chair. Now I don't ussually count orbs as phenomenon of the paranormal status, but in the second picture (taken a few seconds after the first) the red orb is seen in a different position...

Also I know vortex phenomenon can be caused by a finger, or lone strand of hair getting in the way of the camera, but this factor is ruled out because I can clearly remember my mom's finger not being in front of the lens (I was looking at the lens) and she has short hair so a strand getting in the lens is very un-likely. Every picture my mom took after that came out perfectly fine.

One more thing I forgot to mention I was not standing in front of the camera or anything and my mom didn't zoom in really close either. I was standing a good ways back from my mom and the camera.

P.S. I know the costume is dorky it's haloween and I wanted free candy  besides I play a lot of video games and I thought I would show my true colors. And although the costume I created makes me seem younger I am 16...and a half :D

Did the camera have a strap? Looks like a camera strap.

It is a strange photo. If I were you I would get a professional photographer's opinion.

If it is not a camera strap it may have something to do with the light coming through the door glass. It looks like she was standing in a slightly different
position when the photos were taken, you can see what looks like a stair banister in one photo and not in the other.

Dust particles float so an orb caused by that could be in a different position in another photo if it was taken quick enough, or it could simply be a different particle in the second photo.

Do you have reason to believe there are spirits in the house? Just wondering why you think it is a portal.

I dont think its a vortex in your pic. My first thought would be the light coming thourgh the window by the door causing the effect. However I did find this pic at the link below and it was taken at a wedding in a low lighting area. It has the same effect. The website says its a vortex also.

Agian I dont think either of the two pics has a vortex but now I am intersted in what is causing the effects of both pics.

it looks like it's caused by light coming in the window. it looks like the window is frosted glass. if it is then it could have refracted the sunlight causing that effect. also the second picture is not taken in the exact same position.
try taking a bunch of pictures in that area and see if you get the same thing again.

I agree with Jill. I've gotten this effect near a window using a digital camera. Love the things but they are a pain in the ass when it comes to getting weird effects you don't want.
