I think some, the ones that only do it for the thrill, begin to realize that it is not as exciting as TV portrays it to be and just move on to something else. Others probably go on to another team or form a team of their own.
I have seen a lot of web sites close and I always figured it was because they realized most of what they thought was paranormal was not and they didn't have enough experiences or what they considered to be real evidence to hold their interest. I also believe they thought they would put up a web site and get lots of home investigations or become famous. When it didn't happen overnight they moved on to something else. JMO.

I had conflicts in my beliefs. I will always believe in life after life, I'm just not sure how that time is spent. Do spirits "haunt" the earth or do they continue to surround the ones they love, or both. Is it possible that some people can communicate with spirits psycically or do the deceased just wait around for people with voice recorders and camcorders.
I have felt, seen, taken pictures of and recorded the sounds of things I may never understand in my lifetime and I'm still unsure of what I believe. I found ghost hunting to be interesting and fun (especially the people) and I may do it again once I decide what my beliefs are.

Just takes patience and a lot of people don't realize that because they want the proof now i.e. instant gratification. I do as well, I've still yet to see that book fly off the shelf or a door slam in my face but what I have experienced keeps me going. I believe there is something more and eventually with patience and time..the answers will come.

meant to say too, that we have started a trend and if the answers don't come to us in our lifetimes then at least the ones that are really into this in the future will maybe get them.

None of us know and that is why we do what we do. That is why when I do evps I started asking questions about how it is where they are, is it cold, is it dark, do they feel sadness, can they come and go or are they stuck etc.
My thoughts on it....... I don't think they are waiting around for people with recorders. I feel some may be continually communicating with other spirits and the living. There are probably a few (very few) of the living that can communicate with them without a device. The rest of us can only hear them through evps. I believe that some are only able to get our attention in other ways and that is why a person gets touched or sees things move. I have no evidence to support any of this, it is just what I choose to believe for now and what keeps me going.

Mark, I can kind of relate to what you wrote. My beliefs have changed over the yrs too. But I continue to go ghost hunting because I seek answers. I may never be satisfied. If anything I have become much more skeptical. Its hard not to be cynical when skepticism comes into play. I fight that urge sometimes. I think everyone of us can say we have changed our views over the years. How can you not? Like you I'm not sure what my beliefs are. There fuzzy. Just not as clear as they used to be. I guess I'm searching for absolute truth. I may never get it. I haven't had nearly close the experiences most of you have had and I have to wonder sometimes if my skepticism has somehow made my mind less open to things and I could be missing some signs that everyone else is getting? Still there are those things that have happened to me that just keep gnawing at me. That there has to be something.
