My sister told me this once and swears it really happened.
One night while camping with a friend, my sister and her friend dicided to try and get the ghost of Mary Stockum to appear.
They said her name over and over for awhile. Then they said If you are here please give us a sign. The sound of distant thunder arose.
Thinking nothing of it, they said if you are here make the dog start to bark. The dog several yards away then started to growl and bark.
They thought it was wierd but continued with what they were doing.
They said if you are here show us yourelf. Then 2 lightning bugs appeared in front of them and looked like a pair of eyes.
They were getting a little scared but continued by asking if you really are here make the dog come over. The dog quit barking and walked over and sat down beside them. :mellow:
This scared them enough to run into the camper and sleep in it for the night with her friends parents. :o
Probably just a coincidence. But as the old saying goes "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it."
