Title: !!!DANGER!!!

Zephite - April 26, 2005 08:17 PM (GMT)
We here at G.H.O.S.T. recommend that you DO NOT mess with this board. It may be just a toy, but there are rumors of demons and otherworldy spirits being summoned.

If anyone on this forum suggests that you use an Ouija Board, and you are hurt in someway G.H.O.S.T. members, our website cannot be held responsible.

I have to admit I own one. Used it once. It's been in the closet ever since. Let's just say it works and that is why it is in the closet! :(

I have one somewhere in my attic...I'm never touching that thing again!

I still get the willies whenever I go into that attic. I agree with Momma Ghost on this one!

Zephite - June 12, 2005 03:19 PM (GMT)
I want to use it but since it is being dangerous I dont want to use it. Kinda weird.

Angela - July 29, 2005 02:25 AM (GMT)
Don't know how true this is but I read here on the faithful internet somewhere...just browsing some Quija Board stories and this lady from Columbus I guess uses hers all the time and makes contact. She says that the spirits talk to her and her friends and has told them that they follow them around and they are the ones that causes some incidents/accidents to happen...

In one case the guy friend that was part of it was being told by the spirit that he caused him to lose a job and he caused him to spill a drink....things like that.

It's pretty wild. I can say I have never used one and don't feel the need. From what I've read though it can be Dangerous!

I just don't know if I beleive in this game working, but then again I've never experienced the game either.

Am I brave enough to try...sure, but if it's true what I just told you and the spirits create incidents that seem common to us...I do well enough on my own in that area.

All I can say is use common sense while playing and don't invite anything to stick around :ph43r:

Deathyboy - July 29, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
Pretty much all I've heard about Ouija boards is 1. They're dangerous. Don't mess with them. and 2. If you simply must use one, NEVER use it alone. I don't even own a Ouija board, and I'm not planning on getting one.

Angela - July 30, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
I don't blame you Deathyboy...I don't plan on doing it, I've never been a keen gambler. :D

Kristlyze - October 2, 2005 06:13 AM (GMT)

I own a Ouija board, and as stated above I will also say, it is NOT a toy. It bothers me that it's sold at toy stores and to the public in general. Mine stays in the closet, I will not destroy it, but I will not use it.
I have had some not so good incidents with the board in the past when I was much younger and quite stupid in manners of things. The only spirits that will have the inclination to contact you on these boards are ones that you don't want anything to do with. I contacted 2 spirits many years ago, Stuart and Betty they called themselves. A friend of mine had misplaced her purse once and we used the board to ask where it was. We were given a name of a neighbor and friend at the time and we were told in great detail of how she had stolen the purse. We confronted the neighbor and accused her of the theft only to late discover the purse in the backseat of the purse owners car. Its TROUBLE.
I got so proficient at using the board that after a few months I no longer needed the board to speak to Betty or Stuart, they were with me all the time, and they caused a great deal of damage to my family life in more ways than I can explain. I was lucky tho, it could have been MUCH worse. Please, please don't play with a Ouija board.

spiritgirl - December 14, 2005 04:12 PM (GMT)
Iv used it at a friends house when i was about 12 years old .I was at a B-day party and we took it out we asked it Qs like how did you die it said in a car crash has soon as we see this I looked up in the window and saw a floting green head in it I shouted look and everyone just about shit them selves. for years i did not talk about it latter in my 20s me and my friend at the time played it this time i asked good Qs like will i ever have a baby me and my friend ask theses Qs in our own heads so we could not know what each others Qs where as i asked when will i have a baby the arrow moved to 1 then 9 then9 then 7-= 1997 and i all so asked will it be a boy or girl it said girl. i rolled my eyes like ya right. anyway I forgott all about it and had a daughter on july 3 1997 . I have not used it ever and dont want to !!!!!! but it was right!

cvparanormal - December 14, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
Playing the devil's advocate here... :) (I don't use the boards or advise anyone to)
How is using an ouija board and asking the spirits questions any different than attempting to capture an EVP? Or using your television or computer to do ITC? Isn't the general concept the same thing?

Jeri

Zephite - December 15, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
I can see your point.

I guess doing EVP's gives you more secruity knowing that some otherwordly spirit will not try to hurt you because iyt hasn't been documented; to my knowledge. With an Ouija Board there have been rumors of demons coming through the board through trickery and mopre people are afriad to use it.

Angela - December 15, 2005 04:33 AM (GMT)
I agree with Jeri, it's the same, but if your investigating a home that supposedly has one spirit and try to use the Ouija as part of the investigation then you may conjure up more spirits from other planes that will stay at the home or follow you home. per say we are sitting in a home and asking questions trying to get EVP's and the owner says it's a woman well were only asking it to respond, with the Ouija you don't know who your getting or where their from or anything, so I think that's what makes it a little more dangerous than getting EVP's.

Just a thought !?!?!?!?! LOL

scooby - December 19, 2005 05:20 PM (GMT)
:( my cousin and three of his friends played with one and all 4 of them were told when and how they would die he told his mom she said dont believe those things any more than you would believe im the first lady he said ok well they died in the car accidend they were told about he was 17 a senior a drunk driver in a black truck killed all of them the board told them that. iv never used one after that to scared !!~!!!!!!

lunitik - January 13, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
I eventually dug a hole in the ground and burnt mine then covered it up and ran....nuff said.

Zephite - March 11, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
The Ouija Board doesn't hurt people.

The Ouija Board is used as a medium to talk with spirits. Sometimes, malicious spirits and demons are contacted and this is what hurts people.

lunitik - March 11, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)
It's not the board that'll get you....It's what your asking/allowing tho communicate with you that can screw with you.

Momma Ghost - March 11, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
The board does not hurt you. (unless maybe it gets flung at you) It's what you conjure up with it that might. :(

My thoughts on it is the reason it is different than evps is because when doing evps we are trying to communicate with spirits that are already here. How and why they are here I don't pretend to know. Isn't one of the questions most ask when doing evps is "is there anyone here that would like to speak to us?" Of course there is the chance that those are not very friendly either. I have never had a bad experience with evps or read that others have but I have read thousands of stories about what others have experienced when using a ouija board.

I believe a ouija board is a tool that some are able to use to invite spirits to come through that are not already here, that they cannot come through on their own power and need you to do so.

I would suggest reading about what others have experienced and if you want to take that chance and use one then do it. It is all in what you believe.

Remember, nothing about ghosts, spirits or EVPs has ever been proven. It is all based on experiences and what we believe. It has never been proven that ghosts exist and it has never been proven that they don't.

We can't prove that any of our evps are voices of ghosts but we know we did not speak those words and no other humans were present at the time.

If I start experiencing bad things when doing evps I may change my mind about doing them too.

I believe ghosts and spirits can be anywhere but they are not everywhere.

Just my rambling thoughts :P

Just take it from some older people.. the OUIJA board should not be messed with. It may seem fun at first but it can turn bad, real bad. I had something pass through me that left me ice cold and scared like I've never been scared before.

If the spirit is evil or bad, it will prolly hurt you if you rub it the wrong way. However, if the spirit is good, then you've got nothing to worry about.

bellerjeau - May 6, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
My friend had a board and claimed a 5 yr old spirit named "V" was attached to it. A bunch of us got in a room and started taking turns while my friend wrote some things on a whiteboard that none of us could see. Then she asked us to ask "V" how he died and where he lived. "Drown" and "London" were the answers given on the Ouija board (operated by myself and wife), I got up and looked at the whiteboard... hmmm, guess what was written there?!?

Momma Ghost - May 6, 2006 09:36 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, could it be drown and London? :)

tinker - May 6, 2006 05:04 PM (GMT)
I went out and brought a board years ago just out of curiousty, I lives alone at the time. I used it only once. I really didn't think that I got any kind of messages. But, I did get a very uneasy feeling. So I put it in the closet and never used it again. The strang thing was, after I used it I began having very uneasy feelings in my apartment. Feeling that I never had before. Several times I felt like someone was behind me and no one was there. I felt a male presence, I don't no way but it "felt" male. around me alot when I was alone there. There were a few instances were I felt the hair stand up on the back of my neck. After that I started spending alotof nights at my parents house. I moved to a new apartment very shortly after. I remember throwing the board in the dumpster when moving

Zephite - May 7, 2006 01:40 AM (GMT)
Target or Wal-Mart is selling the glow-in-the-dark version of the Ouija board. I think it was for $19.99 - $29.95 if anyone is interested

bwmacp_GH - June 8, 2006 03:42 PM (GMT)
all it is is just a portal for spirits to get through.although the ones that do are malevolent(did i spell that right) or poltergeists. but my friend did use one and said he wasn't using it again. I personally have never used one because i know what they can do.

SOPR Jay - June 19, 2006 12:58 AM (GMT)
I remember that my mom used to own one. I got it out just to look at it and my mom grabbed it, and thru it out that same day. To this day, I haven't touched one. However, I am courious about it. I kinda believe it and I kinda don't. Main reason I dont is because, someone (a living person) could be playing tricks on you and acutally be moving the triangle piece (sorry, don't know the correct term for it, it has been many years since I have seen one in person).

I also don't know if I believe that an object made in a factory could be "magic" or have the ability to bring the supernatural into our "world".

I do know this however, with all the stories about these boards, I will not use one by myself unless I am with close friends who will be ready to handle anything that may or may not come thru that board.

MysteriousCozy - June 19, 2006 03:10 AM (GMT)
I used to have one as a kid, I think i got it for christmas. But to me it was a toy...like a game.
My grandmother had one and she believed you could talk to spirits with it.
She also said you could get bad spirits on it too and that they would lie to you.
After that I just figured whats the point in tryin it?

kovarr - October 10, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
As I stated in another post, my great Aunt had a very bad time with one. The problem with an Ouija board is that you don't know what you are contacting. Entities (spirits, ghosts, or things that were never "alive" to begin with) are attracted to you when you pay attention to them, or at least it's this way in my experience. The more attention you give them, the more power you give them as well, and once you let something through, you can almost never get it back in.

MysteriousCozy - June 19, 2007 02:21 PM (GMT)
I'm really starting to wonder if a Ouija board is anymore dangerous than doing EVPs.
Basically you are doing the same thing. Calling out to a spirit to answer you or give you a message.
The only difference is the equipment your using.
Isn't calling out to a spirit by asking" is there anyone here with us?" leave you wide open for whatever to come and answer?
Same as a Ouija in my opinion.

BloodRed - June 19, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
My wife and I were talking about this the other day. Our groups sometimes uses dowsing rods and pendulums. How are this really much different? Of course we never use the experiences we get as evidence, but if we gets names and stuff, we do try to see if we can find any connection.

I guess the Ouija board gets a bad rap from most people. To many movies, witches and high school nights. LOL

Momma Ghost - June 19, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Since last posting on this subject I have change my thoughts about the Ouija board. To me it is like table tipping, if a human has to touch it to make a spirit come through that just creates a lot of doubt for me. I now believe that if a spirit is there, it's there, it doesn't have to be "called out" with a board, table or anything else. JMO.

i know they're scary but if anyone who has one wants to give it a try again, i'd really like to try it too! just to see....i just don't believe in it..i want to see it first hand! I want a crazy story about ouiji's too. :hyp: They say it moves itself.. i just don't believe it until i see it too.

My opinion of the board has not changed, but I'm crazy enough to try it again........What do you say Redneck?
