The year is 1198 and the deeds of Robin Hood and his merrymen are spreading like wildfire across England. While Robin and his gang work to free Nottingham from the tyranny of Sheriff Vaisey, however, other forces are at work both for the good and ill of the people of Nottinghamshire.
Upon the unexpected death of her beloved father, spirited noblewoman Marian Fitzwalter flees the confines of Nottingham castle to pursue a life of service to the oppressed people of Nottingham. Sheriff Vaisey, never one to be outmaneuvered and unable to learn her whereabouts, immediately names her an outlaw for her previous sympathies with the one time Lord of Locksley. Undeterred, Marian sets her plans on Sherwood and joining her childhood sweetheart, Robin, but what she finds in the forest is not what she expected.
The events that followed lead to a major split in the forces for good. Determined to keep Marian safe at all costs, a disagreement arose between the free-spirited woman and the protective man from Locksley. Believing she could accomplish great things on her own, as she had under the guise of the Nightwatchman, Marian and several disenchanted companions of the gang took leave of Robin and made their way to the camp of the Forestwife. Under the safety of the kindly woman and her family, Marian began to gather a new set of friends and allies until they was ready to leave the clearing for a camp of their own.
While Robin and Marian’s gangs aid the people of Nottingham, however, evil is afoot. The Sheriff’s spies are everywhere and in every position of society, from the lowest swineherd to the richest noble. Determined to obtain every last coin from the people of Nottingham, the Sheriff has redoubled his efforts to have the head of anyone openly opposing him. In secret, he has formed his own close-knit group of men, whom he has charged with the task of quelling any and all operations undertaken by Robin and Marian’s gangs. A new threat has also arisen in Rochdale as Lord Benedict destabilizes not only Rochdale but the surrounding towns in an effort to lessen Vaisey’s power and increase his own. As tensions mount higher, it is becoming increasingly difficult to aid the burden of the poorer residents of Nottingham.
Will you fight for the people, your own power, or the establishment?
